Me and a friend went here a few weeks ago for team practice. We are kind of new to tournament playing, and all of the guys there really helped us out. The guy at the shop helped me fixed my softear(which snapped off), and it has held up for a while. I dont know about the rec. prices, but the practice prices are cheap. Thanks for all of the good service.
We will see you again on the tenth! |

This field is Great. Everyone out there is very nice and will help and talk to you eith whatever you need. Safety is a big point out there. Prices are reasonable, It is more expensive to go to alot of other places and get the same treatmeant. Average shop btut hey can get about anything you want all you gotta do is ask, Staff is great and The feilds are perfect and well kept. Go visit this field if you want a cheat fun filled day of paintball. Rec hours are all day saturday and after 1 sundays and team practice is sunday from 10-1 so go visit i promise you wont be disapointed |

Overall this is a pretty good field. It only has two outdoor speedball fields and one indoor. They say that they are adding a couple more, but nobody seems to believe it. The staff there is great, and will help you out with pretty much any problems. The prices are a high compared to fields within 50 miles. The last time we went my friend and my rental's both had multiple problems, and had to exchange them. They are pretty much open every weekend which is great. I have been there a few times and only once had a big group of people ( big being 30 or so ). I would give the field a 8 out of 10. The employees are nice, and helpful. The prices are high. |

Well I just turned 16 and got a job and new marker so i wanted to go play and start to make it in to the sport. I got there nice and early(around 10am which is early for me), there was already a church group there so i set up my marker and listened as Brandon told us all of the rules(Great guy, deff very helpful.) So after the rules brandon took my gun to the chrono where it was shooting hot but he adjusted it for me.
So we got out to the big speedball feild out front and got teams picked up and we were ready to go. At the start i moved up and hit my bunker brandon was already giving me tips on how to snap and play the bunker. After a long day of play Brandon asked if i would like to come out on sunday morning for team practice and just get in on some drills to help improve my game. Sadly a few weeks later i busted my wrist pretty badly playin football and had to get surgery. Ive now made a full recovery and plan on going back very soon. Overall great feild with great refs and a overall great atmosphere.

Challenge Park Xtreme: Best facilities, refs, equipment and fields. Costs a bit more on an average day, but you really do get what you pay for. This field has nothing on CPX.
Badlandz: several wooded and speedball fields, service was comparable to Level X.
Chillicothe Paintball Pits: much better field selection and arrangement, and staff is more professional. Next time we'll drive the extra 45 min to go here instead. |

Well, I'm a student at the U of I and one weekend decided to roll down to Level X to check them out with a few friends. Their website was sort of ineffective, saying to "call" for prices and other relevant info, but the hours were listed. I learned from a warpig listing that on Sundays open play starts at 1pm and goes till six. Sounded great, so we drove a mere 20 min or so to the field.
The field is really just that; one functioning field, a speedball one. Variety would be nice, but with basically just our small group of 7 we didn't care where we played, provided we could shoot at oneanother. Now the fun begins...
Upon arrival, the guy at the desk inquired as to whether we had called ahead...I said no, citing the walk-on hours listed online. He said we should have called ahead, since that makes it easier for them to set up stuff at the field...I wasn't aware prepping two rentals required such preparation, but whatever. There were seriously 3 people behind the counter and they made it seem like we were the hugest inconvenience to them. In my opinion, the staff, especially our ref Brandon that these other reviewers think is just peachy, were just rude. I guess we interrupted their day of otherwise sitting around doing nothing, hence the attitude.
I was also disappointed with the lack of refs overall, making paintchecks near impossible. Our ref wasn't shy about sharing some "pointers" with players, usually in the form "see, I told you not to do that." He even pointed out the locations of players on the field to opposing players, and that just ain't right. When one of the locals/employees joined us for a game, he made no secret about doing the same thing. This place is a little too "buddy-buddy" if you know what I mean; I'd hate to play in a tourney there where there are actual prizes at stake. I say avoid this place, it's overpriced for the service and the staff is unimpressive, and one field is not as it's advertised. |

I like this place. The Refs are pretty cool; they are more then willing to help you with whatever you need. They don’t have attitudes and they have a great time with you. When I went there for the first time with my first paintball marker Richard looked it over and tightened some screws where the grip frame met the body, I didn’t ask him to do it, and I am capable of doing it myself, but that shows he and everyone else there is watching out for all their customers.
The paint is expensive, but from what I hear, it’s expensive everywhere. So *shrug*.
They enforce their chronograph rule so I don’t have to worry about getting hit with a super-fast ball.
They also have a no bunkering rule (at least for me and my group) which is good In my opinion because I don’t think I am ready for that yet.
There are two outdoor fields and an indoor field; I like the back and indoor fields the most.
Anyhow, I enjoy playing here every time I go. The refs and staff are great; the bunkers are in good shape. Good Job Level-X.

Sudden Impact, and pekin paintball |

This place I heard about b/c my friend who helps run sudden impact goes there when sudden impact is closed. I went on a sunday to check it out for practice. You have to pay 15 bucks admission and air fee. I heard the paint there is really expensive, but since it was practice we could bring our own paint. We got some draxxus blaze for 30 bucks a case from the people of sudden impact. They are so cool. Anyway about level x. The guy running it was alright. He didn't seem to enthusiastic about it, but the one ref they had there was cool. He would talk to people, and look like he's having a good time. It was winter out and everyone was using the indoor air field. Well it is extremely freezing in there. Its no better than being outside. The staging area had a propane heater, so it helped that. The area seemed crowded b/c there wasn't a whole bunch of room for all your gear and people there. The one thing I liked about the experience was seeing some known teams and teams from the area. One time a college team was there, the Uof I team. The place wasn't that great. It wasn't terrible either. It was a crappy drive from bloomington IL all the way there though. It must be better in the summer, I just had a bad experience there. |

level-x paintball field is a great place to play down state if you are in the area i say lets go! were are you going to go to play good ball with great help good refs, and not bad prices.. come on people i played under $100.00 with buying a case of paint , air , something to drink, now thats not bad in my eyes. ive been in other states so you that have not played more than a year go take a ride... then write... you ballers that what to learn from people that take time with you to learn go down to level x see Richard,Brandon, and the boy's they are a great asset to level x. the fields are set up great for speed ball and thats what they are. two good outdoor speed ball fields and one indoor air field... i hear ther putting more in for the future..i found this place my mistake i have a sister in law in champaign so on a visit i took the gear down with me and took my nephew with me and we found level-x in villa grove about 20 min south. go there check it out!!! ( the only thing i did not like about it was the no bunkering rule but.. if your new or just in this sport a few months then you can be happy some one with game under ther belt shooting 23 balls a sec. is not running on top of you!! ) level-x i will be back thank you for the good time!!!! |

Level X is a great place to play. They have 2 outdoor courses and one indoor course with more outdoor courses coming soon. The refs there are great, and they will help you with any problem you have. They will also give you advice and help you refine your paintballing skills. Especially Bradon, the ref i had last time i was there. He helped a new player learn how to use the bunker better and taught the rest of us a quick and easy way to upgrade a teardrop. He even let one guy use his cocker spankey. The paint is kinda overpriced there but hey, where is it not? All in all, my experiences at Level x have been great.| Last edited on Saturday, August 14th, 2004 at 8:07 pm PST |
