Review: I took my 11 year old son, his cousin and their friend to their first ever paintball experience at PAINTBALL ADVENTURES in Burlington. I had a great time and the kids did as well. Before this outing, I had driven around to a couple other indoor fields to see what the conditions were like. One was utterly disgusting, the condition of the floors even in the staging area. It was a hazard just to walk. Looking in at the fields, there was way too much paint on the floor to allow a child or even an adult to walk much less run without falling on their skull.

I had been to PAINTBALL ADVENTURES previously with some of my adult friends to play a few weeks ago and we had a wild time. That is what got me into this sport.

The staging area was spectacularly clean and well lit. Tables to prep our markers had spray bottles with water and cloths to clean mask goggles, etc. The bathrooms were "very clean, not a speck of nasties" as my son told me.

The rules were explained very clearly and plainly so that every one understood what was expected for safety.

The counter staff was very very nice to deal with. There were very dilligent refs on the field, watching out for the players. I needed some lube because my LPR was leaking. They didn't have any at the field at that moment but they had at the pro shop. A very nice lady went all the way there and got me some oil and my marker was back in action 10 minutes later. I never went to the proshop to look, so I have no idea of it's abilities.

As a special note: There was one ref called Drew, that really did a phenominal job with my son and his friends. There was an incident on the field of a regular member, using a bit too much aggression with smaller kids on the field. We mentioned this to a staff member and this was brought to Drew's attention immediately with no hesitation. From that point on (and I think he was doing this already) he paid extra attention to all the kids on the field, watching out for them so they had a safe experience. The regular player was reprimanded. I know the ref was watching because my nephew came to me later, and said something and I went to talk to Drew. He was already waiting for me with a proper explanation that it was a good kill. Not overly aggressive. I completely respected this. (Kids sometimes don't see things for what they are. He was one of the kids nailed in the overly aggressive incident earlier btw.) I'm not a worry wart, but the kids do come first. If they are wrong then I tell them to suck it up and take their licks. The previous incident, I was standing outside the playing area at the back and it happened behind a bunker right in front of me. ie..not following the 'Mercy Rule'... 5' away and bonus balling a cowering kid !!!!.....Gimme a freakin break. I hope the moron that did it reads this. Wait....He probably CAN'T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If the ref had seen him with his own eyes, he would have been sitting for a while. Anyhow.......

Both refs did a superb job mixing the games up so it wasn't just a shoot out. They were very friendly and willing to give a bit of advice. They were pleasant and talked to the kids like they were people. kudos. As a noob, I didn't feel intimidated at all.

The field was extremely clean. It was a concrete floor but wasn't very slippery. Not until later in the afternoon and there was more paint on the ground. But still not like you would think. The barrels and buildings looked like they were just put there. I remember them looking the same when I was there a few weeks ago. The management apparently is quite stringent on cleanliness. You would swear that no one had played in the last few weeks since I was there.

Paint was reasonable in price. I only had one chop. My counter said 900 some odd shots. Good odds....

All these factors put together, made the day a very enjoyable experience for the kids and me as well. We will definately go back again. If you are just getting into paintballing, taking the kids out for an afternoon of fun or just playing like normal with friends, try this place out.

My rating for PAINTBALL ADVENTURES is out of the park 10 out of 10.

Review: This review is long, fyi, but it explains a lot.

You may read a lot of the earlier reviews and wonder how a shop can get this many bad reviews and stay in business. Well, they are in an easily accessible and noticable place in Burlington, so that's my guess. My personal experience with the shop is just as bad as some of the other reviews I have heard.

I'll start by commenting that some say they aren't trying to put down the staff or anything... well, the responsability of the store and its customer relations falls on the shoulders of the staff. If it is out of the store's hands, that is understandable, but in my experience even when something is out of the store's hands they can try to do what they can to help out the customer even if that means decent service and information.

Paintball Adventures provides neither.

My friend and I placed an order for two markers, myself spending over $600 on mine, and he bought an A-5. They told me that mine would be in from mid to late February at the latest. Having known the situation on the marker and it's distributor, I was unhappy but understanding about it. My friend was told his was extremely easy and simple, and it would be in the following Friday.

Next Friday, they told him it was stuck at the border, it would come in the next Friday. He went in the next Friday and they fed him the same story, next Friday. He checked back the next Friday to find out... it hadn't even been shipped from the Manufacturer.

Wow.

He got his marker I believe a week or two after that, after being understandably very upset at being blatantly lied to his face about something that they even said should be extremely easy and simple, yet took 4-5 weeks longer than they said. Seriously here, that IS a problem with the store AND its staff.

With my marker, I called in after a month of waiting, in the beginning of February, curious about the status of my order. All I wanted to know was what was going on with it, being a little more anxious about it knowing what happened to my friend and his A-5. So, I called during regular store hours, when they SHOULD be open. I called about twice a day for a week, and no one answered the phone. On Saturday, someone finally picked the damn thing up and told me they didn't know what was going on with it and they couldn't find out. I asked for a tracking number for my order and they wouldn't give it to me. I proceeded to continue calling a couple times a week for 3 weeks only to get different staff but the same answer. No one knew what was happening with it.

On a side note, I actually recorded the amount of times I called over a 3 week period and the ratio was 21 unanswered calls (dunring hours they were supposed to be open) to a petty 4 answered ones.

So, them not having lied to me yet, I patiently waited for my marker and I am still waiting. The last time I called, I got a guy who was the most helpful of them all (including the manager) and he told me that although he didn't know exactly what was going on with it, he DID know that the manufacturer shipped out their latest order which should have mine with it and it will be in next Friday. First thing I thought was 'deja vu'.

So I sit here writing this review in hopes my marker comes in, but relating the terrible service I got when dealing with them. Their staff is not helpful at all, they do not seem to care much at all about their customers, even when I originally ordered it I was hesitant because dropping over $600 in their store felt to me like I was inconveniencing them. They didn't seem to care, or answer any of my questions well, sometimes just sighing and saying "I don't know."

Now, I work in retail myself, I have for a long time. I know you can have a crap day and one day of service like that is excusable, but in a small business where every customer in your store is literally money in your pocket, you would think a certain level of care is implemented.

Update on Review: After my initial dealings, their service has improved significantly. If not incredibly improved to the point where I am overjoyed with their service, it has been improved to the point of generally decent service. I still consider SOF to be much, much better, service and price-wise, but PBA has moved into the "alright" category for me instead of the "avoid it like the plague" category.

I give Paintball Adventures a 7 out of 10. Originally I had given them a 2, but like I said, my opinion of them has improved since then.

SOF is still 10 times better.

Review: STORE

I just want to start of by saying that i'm not here to put down the store, or the people that work there...however...I purchased an A-5 from them and they told me it would be in the next week. I gave them a call the day it was supposed to be in and they told me it was stuck at the border, understandable. They told me it would be in the next week. I call them the next week to confirm it was there and they told me it was still at the border because it was a big order, understandable. I give them a call the next week when they told me to call them AND THEY TOLD ME IT WASN'T EVEN SHIPPED YET!!!! So they "misslead" me to thinking that it was at the border, while it was still at the factory. I was not happy. I then said fine, when will it be in. They then told me the next tuesday. I call them on that tuesday to make sure it was there, it was...i told them i would be there at 5:30 to pick it up, they said okay someone will be there, so i can pick it up. I get there at 5:20 AND THEY ARE CLOSED! By that point i was pretty angry. I was able to pick it up the day, which i did. So incase you were not counting, it took me 5 weeks to get my marker, when it should of taken only about a week.

THE FIELD
The field in burlington is small compared to the rest of them in the area, however, becasue it is small you get a sence of close quarters, which i think is very very cool. The prices arn't bad if you are a member, but it costs $10 for 100 balls.

In conclusion, i don't suggest buying a marker from them, however, i do enjoy the field, and the people are nice once you get through the hastle of getting the marker.

Hope this helps, and i REALLY REALLY LIKE SOF!

I give the field a 8, becasue it's a little small, and i give the store a big two thumbs down.

Review: The field here was great, BUT THEIR STORES SUCK. I went to the one in Hamilton to buy a E-vent Mask as it advertised that They had them in stock on their website, and I show up at the store and they tell me they just sold their last one, abu their bigger store in burlington may have some. So i get back in my car and drive to the next store and when I arrive, The tell me that the Masks have not even made it over the border from the U.S yes. COME ON YOUR PEOPLE JUST TOLD ME YOU HAD SOME.

So now im stuck with my proto switch mask, which isnt bad, but im pisssed they didnt say on the website they didnt stock them.

Plus the stores smelled funny and were hella small and empty

Review: THIS STORE HAS GIVEN ME SO MANY PROBLEMS.

Im glad i have another store close by (Maxim paintball- best store in Hamilton/burlington area).
I sent in my PMI 68/4500 into their proshop and it took 3 weeks for it to be fixed. I HAD TO EMAIL THEM TO SEE IF IT WAS READY. So when i came in to get it, they filled it up and IT WAS STILL LEAKING!!!

So i gave them another chance with my tank. I came back the next week and got it filled (to 3000psi) and when i got home, the pressure in the tank was at 1000 psi. I got fed up and gave up on them. There was also a missing fill nipple cover which i had on it, and there are HUGE scratches and dents on the tank. Someone must of used my tank at a field or something. I HATE this store and i suggest you don't go to it so you dont get into the mess i got into.

Review: Were can i start sure the paint is cheep, But holy crap the paint chops every 10th ball, the paintballs are egged shaped. The paint balls get stuck in my barrel. The refing is good the guy does check to see if u got hit, Like that the co2 fills are free but the tanks only get half full. I like the field but 1 thing is that its to crammed and hard to move around. I did buy my first gun there. The people the run it are very nice. There is one more thing the time they open, they say that they are open but when i go there they aren't, day me and a few friends went there at the time they open at and waited 1 and a half hours to see if they were opening when i called the day before and told me that they were gana be open and they never did they lost about 500$. So i say only go there if u really have to.

Review:
I have known Sean And Karen from Hamilton PBA since I started paintballing. They sold me my first gun, that I loved and worked great. They were very nice and Sean took 30 mins out of his time to tell me how to properly clean the gun etc... The store at Burl and Ham are both GREAT!! great prices, great everything!!. Without Sean and Karen, and theyre great prices at the field and store I would of never started paintballing. Now 3 years later, I play on a successful team and we proudly represent paintball adventures. The field is Great, especially the new one. I cant wait till they get airball. They have it heated so its nice and warm in the winter, they are also in process of setting up lights. The field paint is great also, especially the price. You can NOT beat 5$ per 100 balls. Thanks for everythig Sean And Karen, and also Pat and Jenny!!

GO TO PBA

Review: PBA may have had some issues in the past with certain things but overall it is a great store and field. It's awfully funny ever since they have expanded to Burlington with another store and talk about another indoor field some people are quick to post negative comments and post lies about them on forums to try to hurt their business. This does not hurt their business, it only makes that person look like a fool. My parents always told me if I have nothing nice to say, to say nothing at all.

I am happy that PBA is working so hard to grow and expand their business. It makes us paintballers excited and gives us something to look forward to in the future of paintball. They are doing the best they can - and a damn good job of it. I have never seen a non-TC stamped tank in either of their stores, nor have I had any problems getting Co2 fills or air fills. Prices are right, they match all prices which is great! The new edition of the e-commerce site to their web site is much more convenient to shop. The new web site looks great and I like how they are updating it frequently. It was nice to receive a Christmas card from them this year as well! Thank you for that!

I am looking forward to PBA's jerseys and own paintball equipment line coming out soon too! I can't wait to be sponsored and wear their awesome jerseys. So if their field and stores are doing so terrible, how can they accomplish all of this? Unbelievable what jealousy does to some people! Keep up the great work PBA! Looking forward to the new indoor field in Burlington!!

Review: In spite of the bad reviews that this field was receiving, i still decided that i wanted to check it out, as I am new to the sport of paintball, and i've only played once on each field in my region. When I went into their pro shop, i had to say i was pretty impressed by the overall organization of the store. Once i paid, for entrance, i was ready to go. However, when i was their field, i said to myself, "why is it so small". The answer came to me during my first round, "because this small field is awesome". Seriously, it was just me and three other people, and it was still an awesome three hours. They had fairly good prices on paint, the ref was very lenient, and pretty much let us choose what kind of game we wanted to play. My only gripe about it was it their needs to be a bit more staff working there, but its nothing much to worry about. I give this field a 8.5 out of 10, as its a bit slowly run because of the staff, but aside from that it was pretty awesome. It's not designed for a large amount of people, maybe 6-8 people max.
