For almost 2 years I would occasionally play at Splatter sports. Their expensive rates and lack of any field variation really kept me from enjoying paintball on a more regular basis. Then American Xtreme came along and thankfully I'll never have to go back to splatter sports again.
Don't get me wrong Splatter is ok for your first exposure to paintball, but their prices and lack of variation get old quickly. Plus having to schedule events makes it difficult to get a good number of people out there on a whim (as I'm accustomed to). |

While playing at Splatter Sports paintball there were three areas that made my experience there not worth my time or money. First was the prices, they charged $90 a case and the paint was terrible. Everyone was chopping balls, including my Impulse which never breaks paint, for one game I went ahead and used some paint that I had that was four months old and it worked way better than the field paint, I didn't chop one of the four month old paintballs. Also there was only one field which made it so there was not much diversity. They also charged by the hour and it was $4 an hour and then $3 after that, so if you play for more than three hours you are paying more than most field fees for other places. So overall this field was not very good, I am not going to pay those prices for crappy paint again just to play the same field over and over again. |

This field is ok for playing your first game, or playing with a youth group or something. The paint is $90 a case for team colors (Field paint only), +/- 5 and hour for field use. There are no hyperball/speedball courses, only woods. I spent about two weeks trying to setup an appointment to get our teams tanks filled (Only open to groups who call in advance... I think they have an open field day once a month) but I gave up trying and found somewhere else. My experience with the owner is that he is not very nice, and will not go out of his way for anybody. It is however the only place to play within 2 hours from here. | Last edited on Sunday, October 24th, 2004 at 7:44 pm PST |
