This is personally my favorite paintball field/ pro shop ive ever played at. Ive have been going to this paintball field since i started playing the sport. The staff there are very helpful and friendly. The fields are very well setup and fun to play on. Its more of a woodsball kind of paintball facility but they do have a great airball field. It has a real good atmosphere and there big games are awsome. If you live near Whindam/ Salem NH i very highly recommend you come play at this facility. |

I have been going to canobie for a long time. For that reason i am now a ref there i know all the feilds and everything about the place. I am not going to give it the benefit of the doubt because i work there and all ,but i will say it is a fun place to play and ref at.
The staff is very friendly, but don't ask stupid questions we think its just dumb if you ask us what a trigger is if you don't know what that is please go play in traffic. Not literally.
The feilds there are just amazing the castle and the village are the most popular for some reason. I am the only ref that actually wants to be in the castle when there is a large group. personnaly i like to get shot i think it is funny and amusing but anyway enough about me people love the feilds there. They have so much fun even the refs have fun...except when you ref little kids and they think it is funny to shoot the refs.
The prices are low the paint prices are very good and the staff all together are really good people, and the rules are simple to fallow...just fallow them they have a 3 strike polocy so don't break the rules.
so with my rating i am only a kid but i will give it the best rating out of all |

Ok I was @ their most recent "big game" and I have to say it was fun BUT it could have been alot better. I agree with the last person in that it was disorganized, the way that they had the field roataions was screwy. They had a group of 3 or so refs for every field and they would ALL go out @ once. My friends and I decided to play castle first and had a blast but heres where it get disoraganized... after we finished we went back to the staging area to reload and such and herd a ref calling 4 the next game.. so we headed right out, but little did we know it was the SAME field we just played at. The probem here was is that while you play one field you miss the others and you end up getting stuck in the same field rotation for a while... so we sat out and about 30 min later we went to another field. I also didn't like all the wait time inbetween games, Sometimes the ref would call 4 a game and we would go, and would sit there for about 30 min be4 we go, which was b/c we were waiting to play the woods field but we couldn't play that until the villiage game was done. And people are more likely to cheat when the wait about 30 or so min. for a game and then get shot in the 1st few min. But overall i had alot of fun and i did think the reffing staff was nice and helpful, but because the games were soo disorganized i give it a 9! But i will defenatly go back on a normal day!! |

I have been to this field five times now and and overall I am disappointed with them. They have an excellent variety of fields and all the on site necessitates but unfortunately for me it takes more that that. I don't want to point out one specific event, but overall I am disappointed in the reffing staff. I don't know if it is their fault or the problem starts at the top of the food chain. Games, especially larger ones seem to very disorganized. I would expect that any given ref should know the company policy's and what the game is about. Too many times have I asked questions and been given answers that showed a total lack of caring. It seems that the upper management has lost touch with what they should be providing as a field and that is now showing with the people that you are in direct contact with.
I will contine to attend some games at canobie, but it is sad knowing that this place could be more.| Last edited on Friday, November 24th, 2006 at 2:17 pm PST |

This field is awesome!! The refs are very fair, and with the crono's keep everyone playing at the same level. I highly recommend going on a sunday as the other days don't let you BYOP and it is fairly expensive at the fields. There are a wide variety of players with different tactics and experience levels. Occasionally there may be disputes over the fairness of a game, but other than that there's no trouble, and hey... what sports don't have arguements?
IMPORTANT... If you plan on playing here you NEED a barrel SLEEVE, barrel plugs aren't allowed anymore, but you can buy a sleeve at the pro shop for only like 4 bucks.
Oh and hope to see you guys at the Turkey Shoot (big game 500vs500!!!) Nov 19th. |

Canobie paintball is a really great paintball field. It was my first time to a paintball field, and they answered all my questionsand directed me where to go. At 80.00 dollars a case ($65.00 with coupon from website) it is a little expensive, but on sundays you are allowed to bring your own paint, which I found very helpful. They have lots of great fields like village, castle, air ball, and two others fields.
There is no food there but they have a local pizza place that can deliver. At canobie they are VERY big on safety, with mask on in or near fields barrel sleves on when out of fields and they chrono every game which i find helpful and it doesnt take long at all.
Canobie is the best field eva!!!! So what are you waiting for? Go play there now!! |

Well, I played canobie off and on for a couple of months. The refs, they are extremely good with the masks and barrel bags safety, and I mean top notch. When it comes to getting people out on the field, they are only OK. They chrono you in everytime which I like. Although they wouldn't allow us to play the X-ball course. That ticked me off. NItro fills were great, you have to bring your tank to be checked by either an old grumpy guy or a nice lady in a booth where you get your paint. I always filled totally to 4500 so no complaints there. When it comes to prices, its a gripe. On saturdays, it sucks. 80 a case? Heck no. I know that they want to make profit but seriously, thats a little rigid, and I don't play there enough to get the season pass. Other field I know is 45 a case and 15 entrance and that will just plain take care of you. Their pro shop is OK. The bathroom is clean normally. The food is in a little vending machine, not much of a selection, or you can order pizza.
I honestly don't think this is the greatest field. IT has a lot of work ahead of it to be the greatest. The big games are extremely fun as well, if you don't mind the people you shot wiping. |

I just went to the summer slam and it was awsome. the first game was a little unorganized though. it was setup so that the yellow team would have to walk through most of where the fighting was in order to be recycled. the red team could just walk to the opposite end of the field without any trouble. yellow had a 5 minute walk. red had a minute walk. other than that, the first game was alot of fun. it was long too. it allowed for someone to actually play a sniper role which is what i like to do. by the end of the game, the lines didn't exist. you could be shooting at red on three sides or shooting at your own team because you thought they were red. it was awsome. the ctf games were fun. they used half of the field which meant that there were some pretty big firefights. a team of guys who all had egos let at least a thousand rounds go in about 5 seconds. when they stopped, ten guys stood up and walked back to the stagging area. the last game in the phantom village was amazing. people popped smoke to cover movements and that added to the atmosphere. the refs were awsome. some d bag was hiding near one of the respawn stations. the ref told me to aim at him and start firing when he tied on my arm band. knocked him and another guy out instantly. they randomly chroneed people during games and pulled a few. caught one guy shooting at 350. hot dog lunch was great and the give aways were awsome. overall i would say that this field is the best i have been to. |

I saw a few reviews on this site, and a friend of mine recommended I give Canobie a look. I figured now would be a good time, seeing as I just recently moved near the NH border.
The field is ok, but the shop/checkin/fill station is an old gutted house that is very cramped when there are more than 5 people signing in or checking out equipment.
They have a fill your own air station, that is lightly watched over, and far too many people to control that table. I don't like the idea of having people who aren't working for the field filling air because it brings up liability issues.
They started right away, which was good, and we went to the Urban Field. This field at first glance was nice, but terribly one sided. One side has a middle area that is filled with spools and houses, and across the field, in the same area on the opposite end, there is a short tube about 10 feet long, and a cube hyperball tube about 3 feet high, that's it.
The castle was good, at first, but becomes impossible to win if the defending team fights outside the castle. The defenders can attack the starting point and and still be defended by the castle. Also, they can run out and cut off basically every hiding point the attackers have, except going up and around the castle. The castle is also tiny inside and it forces people out of the castle, so the attackers have nearly no chance to win.
The refs were very carefree, and didn't care too much about the game. One particular game 6 people shot a 1 guy running for a tube and we all saw paint hit him, his gun, and his hopper, and this kid was in bright red and was huge and hard to miss. Yet, even after we all yelled for a paintcheck, we got no response, and he never left the game. During a capture the flag game, there was no ref at the return flag point and the only way we won is after I hung the flag and hunted a ref out to blow the whistle.
Will I be going back? Eh, probably not. It was good, liked the urban field but it was nothing spectacular and very one sided. Also, the refused to let anyone play speedball and you had tippmann's and ions going aginst Timmys and DM's a lot of the day. |
