mad-cow (Fun for new paintballers a challenge for experienced)
CJ's is a fun and safe place for paintballers of all ages. Being only 14 myself i found it to be the best field i've been to. Yet besides the field and friendly staff i found the paint (that you must use) is FAIR but bringing your own paint would be better ($15 for 500) and no cheaper in bulk ($60 for a case) also the balls are wobbly in air and brake less than 50% of the time. My co2 tank valve broke and to rent a CA tank was another $5. CA is free to fill and co2 is free the first time the its $2. Admission is reasonable $15 with your own marker $35 for a spider package and $40 for a tippmann 98 package. Packages include a mask, 500 rounds, a marker, and I'm guessing from looks 3000 psi compressed air tank. Passes are $75 for 1 and $150 for family. they sell some concessions like Gatoraid and chips. the field itself is split up in to 5 fields. The island ( a narrow long map surrounded by 2 creeks) north woods (kinda like storm the castle with one side cover depleted and the other with 2 "forts") speedball ( AIRBALL) Town (small map with tons of cover You will waste ammo For sure) and one that wasn't open that day. The fields are fun but to much cover often results in a stailmate and lots of paint randomly fired. the skill level of players here ranges from first timers all the way up to 5 + years of skill and very "custom" markers. paintballers were very unorganized when it comes to teams and skill. Just a tip you must be aggresive on this field

This is the only field I have played at. Most of the time it is myself and friends playing at private areas. Our group likes to play mainly woodsball.
Went out with a brand new marker and had some trouble with it right out of the box. The staff on site was very helpful. They helped make some adjustments and got it working. The refs were very good and professional. The speed ball area was not set up yet. The woods courses were pretty good. The town was a little tough because all the players had good cover so it was hard to score any kills. All in all it was a good experience. Adam is great. He offers advice, helps fix markers, and helps out all players. He doesnt make you feel stupid if you dont know what you are doing.
Madcow: Personally didn't like madcow
Metro: Great Competition, ran smooth and clean
Warped: Great Competition also ran smooth and clean
Directions to the Field:
Highway 77 south out of Lincoln to highway 33, that goes west to crete, go two miles west to first blacktop highway 55B turn left 500 yards on left
CJS: I have played here ever since i started playing paintball. I think it's a great field for both competition and fun. Paint prices are fair $50 for premium logo ball. Reffs were amazing, helped me when needed were fair in judgment, turned games quick, always kept a variety of games. Customer Service was quick and easy, no long waits or any confusion. Owners are really nice and friendly, also helped out with game play. My gun went down at the field and they gave me a rental for no cost untell they got my gun repaired. On a scale of 1-10 i would rate it an 11.
Madcow (Best in area so far)
High Altitude (closed)
Many more fields in Iowa, Kansas and Texas
Played for the first time here on the first warm Saturday of the year. If you live in Omaha expect an hour and a half drive. I showed up around 1:30-2:00.
They were serving real food when I showed up, grilled hamburgers
About 40 people, a ref said thats about what they normally get on weekends
Not many high end markers, I had my Spyder MR2, and saw an Ion and A5, the rest were rental.
The refs were pretty good and actually used scenario games (Guard the President, hold the fort, capture the flag and the like) and elimination.
The fields were decent, but having multiple fields that were good made them great.
Woodsball, Spools and speedball.
The other players were also friendly.
They provided paper towels to clean gear
Field fee includes unlimited HPA and CO2 refills (Normal for Nebraska)
The woodsball fields had quite a bit of underbrush and some bad lanes of fire, but it's still early in the year and might be cleared out soon, and it's not that bad anyway.
You have to use field paint (they say it's for insurance, but it's still bad). This is new as of 2008.
The "high end paint" is DSX Bronze, great paint that I bought at Camfields all last year for $35 a box, they sell for $60. Also the same company sells Silver and Gold rated paintballs, they opted for the worst of the 3 high grade paints.
This along with a $5 higher field fee than Madcow and selling O-Rings for $1 made me feel like they do a bit of price gouging, but I have seen much worse.
They close at 5pm on Saturdays, most close at dusk or later if they have lights.
If you live in West Lincoln or one of the western cities where this field is close, I would recommend this field. Also I forgot to ask how much a season pass is so I can't comment on that.
Of all the fields I have played at, I would rate this field as slightly better than middle of the road or 6 out of 10. Better than some fields I have been to but nothing outstanding.
Cjs... goood speed ball fun woodsball and conseption but well some of the staff is well negitive and not very helpful. Jeff was great and really helpful like always and so were two refs but i forgot there names... the pro shop is great its away from the feild but that were i got my first gun and ware i plan to buy a new halo hopper. also paint at the feild is semi reasonable wish it was a bit cheaper but we all wish that.
I started going on and off to CJ's once a week about 3 years ago. They are great really nice people they helped me pick out my first gun. They have great prices, great feilds, a great item selection at there store. If you live close to Lincoln Nebraska like be hit them up for business you will be surprised.
warped sportz in kearney

tornado alley in kansas
Directions to the Field:
from lincoln take hwy 77 south to the crete exit and take hwy 33, 2 miles west to sw 14th and take a left. then you will be heading south about a quarter mile and the field is on the left. see you there
With it being the closest to my house it makes it the easiest for me to play on a weekly basis. I have played at almost all the fields in Nebraska and this is by far my favorite. They have woods ball and speed ball. Everybody their was real friendly and the refs made it a fun and fair time. There number one rule was to make sure we had goggles on at all times when we were in the playing field. The made sure that all the people with own stuff was safe to be out on the field. They have compressed air and co2 so it didn't matter what gun I was using. the prices were fair for being such a nice field it was only 15 bucks since i had my own stuff, but it would have been 25 bucks if I needed to rent a gun and that came with everything and a hundred rounds of paint. The paint was tourney quality paint for rec prices. The prices were 45 bucks for the rec all the way to 55 bucks for the good stuff. I was told it was only a couple days old and the paint comes in weekly so they have fresh paint every week. They also told me they hold big games and tourney's all the time and to watch the website for the dates of the stuff coming up. All in all I will be going back for some time.
Well I guess that you can tell that I picked on brian enough that nobody will ever have to deal with him again so I hope that is at least on thing that you guys give me credit for. I think that you guys have the best super 7 field and I think that if brian would take the Cox out then I think that every thing would fine but I guess that nothing was ever good enough for him and analtheama and blackout i.e. I want more prizes and cheaper paint wait you know what in fact I donít want to pay for paint or tournament entry so as far as your concerned just give me what I want for free. chuck may take a while to get things done but how many people have you heard complain about what he has done.........thatís what I thought

Period of Field Use:
Other Fields in the Area:
Metro Paintball Games <--- The place to be. Indoor and outdoor fields. It's where the players play.
Madcow <--- Small field, little recognition but a good group of people.
Ker'Splat <--- Good group of guys, very relaxed, 1 indoor field.
Husker Paintball <--- Val is the man, if you're a diehard woodsballer Husker is where you want to be! 100% about the sport.
Let's see, where to start... positives.
It is "the best" field around Lincoln... then again it's the only established field around Lincoln.
NPPL Super 7field.
SOME of the staff is professional.
Paint is priced decent... but it's usually dimpled from sitting in the canister (they don't take it back to the shop every day so it tends to get dimpled badly... but that's your problem from what I hear.)
And the bad:
The overall atmosphere at the field, the attitudes of the 'veteran' players, and the attitudes of some of the refs may leave you in awe. Expect players to play on in rec games... at least the 'veteran' players; but believe me, they will blame you for doing it even if you don't and if you hit them 3 times they'll complain like no other (but don't worry, if you get 6+,"it's paintball, deal with it.")
If you order something from the shop or need work done on any of your gear you may be better off throwing your money or gear in a woodchipper. I waited 2-3 weeks for Chuck to even put in an order for a CP barrel that I paid for. He's had markers or other equipment from some people for several months with doing little more than grabbing them off the counter and putting them in back.
There have been trees throught the speedball fields since they were set up. I've been told they were cut down... last I knew from Chuck the stumps are still there. Have fun bashing your knees.
Brandie (Anyone who spends 5 minutes around her knows why.)
If you enjoy sitting around the majority of the day not playing paintball, talking smack, and learning to cheat badly I suggest you play here and learn from the best... or worst depending how you look at it.
If you need help with anything at the field, talk to Kodie, B.B., Rod, or Jimbo. They tend to be the most helpful with players (even if they don't know the answer to something, they'll point you in the right direction.)
Can't wait to hear the smack talk if I ever go to CJ's again. Yeah, IF.
This is a great Field for anyone, they got a speed ball Field with air bunkers ( very nice and nicely setup ) they also got woods and a nice size concept Field for 7-10 ballers. ive played at slaughter zone which doesn't even come close to this.. the refs are awesome, give or take 1 or 2 and chuck is a fun guy to get to know.. just don't P*ss him off ;) I RECOMMEND this field over anything in Nebraska.
