------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------
Hey everyone,
This is the same as I posted on pbnation.com, but I think everyone needs to hear this. I normally wouldn't do something like this, but I was severely irritated the last time I played up here. I've been playing for quite some time up at revolution, at one time one of the greatest fields I've been to. And I'd simply like to say that it's just not what it used to be due to my playing experience in the past week. I've been through many of their ups and downs as a regular player getting out on average once every month or two. I'd like to start off with the fields. What happened to them? I remember the good days of the two amazing barrel fields with the air bag field in the center. There's a barrel field now that isn't too bad. But it's still advertised as an an airball field with two barrels, even though only one barrel field is up. The other one next to it is just a mess. And whoever had it open the last time I was there has no common sense, due to the fact that it was open and a player from another group had a screw go through his hand. Sad thing is that the entire field was like that. Who authorizes the use of a field like this? Enough on those, now to the other fields. The large woods field, all it is is a big open space with a few small bunkers in it, as with the fort. Plus, the fort is slippery on all of the slopes. I just about broke my legs trying to walk down it while playing. Past the fields now to staff helpfulness. Most of the employees seem to be good guys and girls. I don't know most of them because they're all new, like brand new. They seem to be great refs, but when a friend of mine's gun stopped shooting, the only one's who knew what they were doing were steve and john, both of whom I remember from the several times I've been up there before. I even asked the new manager and he just looked at it like he had no idea what it was. Just a bit shocked seeming as how it was a marker we had rented from the shop. It almost seemed as if he doesn't know what he's doing. Like he'd know more what to do if he were standing naked at the *** end of a sheep than with one of the markers in his shop. It wouldn't surprise me if he did. It seemed like any question I had, he just redirected me to steve, john, crystal, or jay, who unfortunately doesn't work there anymore, but he's always been a great ref and was up for the day to help the guys still working there. And now with the rentals. Markers are good, like usual. I mean, Tippman 98's, you just can't go wrong, so I like them. They're decently maintained and cleaned. , I'm not being a dick, I just pay close attention to necessary details. Marvin, I'm sure you're a decent guy in the real world, but you're just not cut out for the management position of the field we love to play at. To my understanding, Larry left because he found better offers. My only question is why john didn't pick up the position? At least I knew that when john was around that **** got done. He always could relate to our groups' needs reasonably and we always enjoyed ourselves at the end of the day. Hence the reason for our repeated visits. But I'm really not sure I want to visit anymore. For those who need to read this, thank you for your time. For those of you whom this applies to, know where you are compared to what you deserve (not directed to younger staff, you guys are great dispite your inexperience). Until revolution fixes it's "problem", my playing time is dedicated to wanna play. Their manager's a dick, but he at least knows some **** about his position.
One last thing before I leave. I really like the color coded dressing rooms, because the time that must've been put into them makes my stay "that much better" |

I have played many fields over the years and I would have to say that in terms of consistency of good rental equipment; masks, markers, and camouflage, Revolution Paintball is the best I’ve seen in a while. The staff is friendly, firm but fair, the safety presentations are taken seriously as are the rules of play.
I would highly recommend this field as Larry and the crew has done a lot of work on it.

My first time playing paintball was at revolution. At first I was a little scared (being my first time playing), but the refs helped me out and gave me a few pointers. Aftter that day, I was in love with paintball!! I don't think I would have chosen any other place to experience my first time playing paintball! Now, a few years later, I still go back. My second time there, I had my own gun. It wasn't working (to say the least) and mangement there really, I mean really helped me out!! I asked one of the guys behind the counter if he could help me. He told me if he could "hold my gun hostage" he would let me use a rental... no charge or anything! Since not many people were there I got to use a scenarion markers ( 98 custom with response trigger, stock, and AK-47 barrel). It was really nice of them to let me use that gun. Then, whe I got out to play, we got this really cool ref. I think his name was Zach or sumthing. He was only about 15 or so but he was really cool and helped out. He would tell you good spots in the field and didn't really care what field we played at or anything. But, when someone would defy the rules (like take there mask off) he got really assertive. I think once the kid bonused balled someone and the ref goes "You do that one more time and I'll kick you out of this place myself!" (serves the kid right). The fields are sweet and acomadate to any player. They range from extremely dense woods called the "Jungle" to A-bal and X-ball fields. They have some really nice woodsball fields too. The pro shop is good and has guns, masks, parts, tanks, ect. There are picnic tables under a tent thing and a soda machine. I would reccomend bringing your own food though. The prices are good and paint isn't bad. Another thing I thought was cool (I don't know why) is that there was a dog there that would visit you while you took a break between games. I think it was someone who works theres dog.
OVERALL........ Refs- Great, not cocky and always willng to help and get into some games. Fields- A+, fields for anyone, speedballer or woods baller. Price- Not expensive, but not cheap as dirt. Great field and great people!! I highly reccomend Revolution!! |

I want to start by saying I have played for 19 years. I have played at many levels including winning the IAO and playing in the NPPL (woodsball days). I have seen my share of bad reffing and bad fields. I am 41 years old and teach for a living. Today I had the opportunity to play in a Father and Son, 2-man paintball tourney at Revolution Paintball. I want to give this tourney a enthusiastic thumbs up!
First the field: The X-Ball field was set up in a unique and different manner that was fun, but didn't inhibit any style of play. My only gripe is that the field was set up a bit late for proper "walking the field". I addressed this one complaint to the manager and he quickly took responsibility for it and said as it was his first tourney he would learn from the mistake and correct it. I applaud a man who takes responsibility for his actions! Well done!
Second the refs: I am sure many of you have been to fields and tourneys where the reffing staff took a "holier than thou" attitude. The come off arrogant and don't seem to care if you return or not? Well not this staff! Although these young gentlemen were all in their teens or early 20's they were respectful, never condescending, patient, and quick to make a call! As an added bonus they had 6 refs on a field with only 4 players! To me this seems very efficient and well thought out! They continually moved the players along, keeping the games on time and we finished in the early part of the afternoon. Time enough for this "old" man to go home and take a nap! I want to applaud the refereeing and I would name them all by name, but I failed to get most of their names. I will single one friendly young man out though...his name was Jay and he did an excellent job as well. Jay...nice talking to you after the tourney!
Third..paint: I purchased Evil...63.00 for the price...seemed fair to me. Good paint..shot straight, didn't break in the gun, broke on target! What more can you ask for except free paint (I wish!)
I will close by saying that as a consumer if you are not happy with something you have purchased, whether it be a TV or a day of paintball, don't settle for it. Complain about it to the guys who run the show and give them a chance to correct the problem. I do it all the time and I get results.
My name is Michael Lowe and my email is mlowe64@comcast.net
I am giving this field a 9 (always room for improvement) |

You guys suck. The field, the facilities, management, guns, and staff.
The fields are sh-ty. The ground is as hard as a rock. I'd rather play on top of Mount Rushmore. Yes i am a speedball player not a woods ball, but i know what to expect from woods ball, and the fields suck really bad. Rocks, branches, screws everywhere. This place is not safe. The Airball field is always not set up right. So Not to be mean but work on the fields.
The facility is always dirty, need bathrooms. Need a family area that is nicer than what you have.
Management, yes Larry is a nice guy and all that, but come on, how many people do you expect to want to play for hours in the woods. Not many. Not every paintball player in the world wants to play woodsball or WWII over again. This is the 21 century not 1944.
Tearing up mother nature is not a good thing. Maybe a few trees here and there. Not like all of Roundtop. Come on. Those poor animals.
The guns look like crap, they shoot like crap. Yeah you think tippmmans or however you spell it, are good guns, but htey suck for better players than newbies. Hoppers don't stay on, they jam, and tanks always unscrew. Take better care of your stuff and it might last longer. Masks suck, you need to invest in better masks, that don't fog and stay together. Cheap stuff isn't cutting it.
Nathan and Luke and that Mike Bretz kid that used to work up there were the best refs i have ever seen on a walk on field. Even though they are under payed, worked to hard and don't earn the respect they deserve. Minimum wage ain't cutting it anymore. Mike and JJ aren't very good refs, a good ref moves and get in with the group and will take the shots to help the group to not be afraid or enjoy it more. Not them they stand all afraid of a little sting on the sideline. Luke and Nathan need to quit or get a big raise and be respected more than JJ and Mike, and they get respected more because daddy's little boy and that is the only reason they work there.
It was way better when Bob Bretz was manager, he rocked that place. He respected both types of players and enjoyed both types of play. Whatever happened to him they need to bring him back so i can enjoy that place again.
Well sorry for the bad news but try to improve and i might think about coming back, but until then Wanna Play here i come. And anyone that wants to play go to Wanna Play, much much better, or even go to Linglestown paintball. Even go to Manheim, which is a long drive but that place is much better run and they respect all customers.
SORRY FOR YOUR LUCK AND THE REVIEW BUT THE CUSTOMER NEEDS TO KNOW THE TRUTH AND ALL THAT GOES ON

I would like to let everyone know that RPB is under new management and has been since Jan 2006. My name is Larry Crumlic and I am the manager of Revolution Paintball at Ski Roundtop.
If you have not been to RPB this year I think you may want to check us out.
We are working very hard to make RPB a top notch Paintball Park for both Woodsball as well as Speedball players. We have replaced the blue barrels on the small lighted speedball field with a new 19 peace air bunker set, and adding 3 new woodsball fields. Our retail shop is growing and we will be stocking more and more items. We have add 50 new Tippmann 98 Custom, and 5 new ION's to our rental marker stock. Many other improvements are in the works. I am always open to comments and suggestions please feel free to take some time and talk with me. |

I grew up at this field, the refs here are my friends that I also grew up with, they are starting to add more fields and getting more management. In my opinion they are one of the best fields in Pennsylvania. I reccomend this field and Outlaw Indoor in Manheim over all of the other fields in PA. |

this place is possibly the worst place i have ever been to. this place is just horrible. infact im so angry right now i never intend to go back. the first time i went i had a good time. the second it was alright. but the last 2 have been completely horrible. the last time i went the x-ball field wasnt even set up 4 hours after the feild opened. that made me pretty mad. i waited 4 hours to play on the xball field. errr. today i went. i walked in with $70 bucks in my hand and a flyer filled out. i waited there for 5 MINS! before the 2 idiots standing there walked over and said "do u need help" that really made me mad. they were there just talking to eachother while a customer (me) was waiting to pay. then the morons didnt know how to work the cash register. im NEVER GOING BACK. the reffs are really lazy to. it takes for ever to get a game going.
the paint sux,
prices suck,
fields ok, well only the x-ball is
staff suck,

I went up during the Purple Door concert so there wasnt many ballers out that day. I went with a fellow teammate to just check things out and have a day just to play and screw around for once (we dont get a chance to do that often).. There was about 10 rec ballers and us 2 tournament players.. but the owner said they get alot more when purple door isnt around.. We spent half the time talking to the owner.. Bob.. who is one of the coolest and nicest owners i have ever meant.. and the other half of the day just playing.. i set up a scrim against the fields team with the owner against my team sometime this month so i will update on that later..
Field Condition:
I didnt play any woods ball but i hear that it is great.. but the Xball field was great well kept FLAT.. He said they change the layout and clean the bunkers every week.. id have to say this is one of the best kept fields i have been too.. i didnt even where knee pads and i didnt have a scratch..
The owner said he plans to add another airball field this winter (2005-2006)
Reffs:
the refs that i meant were very cool.. and mature.. u dont find that very often.. they will help u out and set up whatever game u want..
Price:
Paint is overpriced.. but not too bad.. 55 for draxxus rec sport.. i think it was 65 for Evil.. and there was some more choice i dont remember tho.. i recommend Evil if u can afford it
Field fee was 10 bucks if u use compressed air.. and i think 15 if u use co2
Players/Competition:
There wasnt to many players there that day but most were woods ballers and were playing for the first time... if u want real competition get ur team down to PAP in MD.. i only no of one team that plays there and thats the field team but the owner said they have had other teams come and scrim them..
Overall:
Great place just to have fun.. good refs.. awesome owner.. ok pricing.. give it a try
