Castle, woods, hyper, speed, there all there at Orbital. There very strict regarding safety.
Player calliber there are from all levels of players. With the teams that go there, you
will deffently get in a good practice. Refs, there all cool, and if you have a problem they
will be more then happy to talk to you and help you out. And the young bloods are well watched and taken care of.
The Attmospere at Orbital is one of many that I like there, You just feel comfortable there. Jeff and Scott are Great guys, and yes there Paintballers. Gun problems, they will do whatever they can to get it fixed. And also many players out there that would be more then happy to help out someone in need.
They have drinks, and always give the players a chance to order for lunch
when they call in for theres. Give them your order and $ and they will do the rest.
Porta potties are kept up. There is plenty of covered areas and tables for your gear.
I also like the fact that there is always someone up front and they can see all of the staging areas. The prices are great there, you can deffently tell that this field is not out
to get rich from the players, {for an early retirement}. they care about Paintball and the players.
And as for the young bloods again, they have a paintball camp they put on that is very inexpensive, and great for our young players.
Okay Now the Cons----> I can't go every weekend because of work. Or we would.
If you have not been to Orbital or if it has been awile, ck it out, I think maybee you will
enjoy yourself.

Great field , friendly owner and field manager , I recommend this field for new players as well as experienced players .The field has a good mix of games and objectives throughout out the day , games continually going on , so if you miss one another one will start up shortly ,the field flows nice and lots of good angles and bunkers . I also noticed that they change thing weekly , there are always new bunkers . lots of corporate parties here and lots of rec players on sat or Sunday . nice shaded picnic areas and good prices on paint and paint. |

Other Fields in the Area: |
Thunderbay-(closed) had more fields but the refs cheated
Florida Paintball-(Under new name and management since 06) only two fields to play on when I used to play there.
American Paintball-(been closed for years) this field was one large indoor airball field. It was nasty on the field and extremely unsafe in the rest area.
Gator- Only played scenario games here |

Directions to the Field: |
There are good directions on the field site |

| Review: |
I started playing here regularly after Thunderbay closed down in 06. I played a couple times before then but I was not impressed and it was a drive compared to my regular stomping ground. In the past two years I have seen a lot of field changes in bunkers and playabilty of fields.
Safety- The safety is top notch. Regular players and refs do their best to keep it this way. Only improvement I can see is small net repair. 9/10
Fields- A hyperball (plus an extension for a bigger game), an airball, two woods fields, and a Castle for attack and defend games. The only field that I have not seen dramatically change is the hyperball field. They change the field layouts every so often to spice things up. Only improvement I can think of is a new entrance(which is being planned) so people do not have to walk the path next to hyperball when a game is going on. 8.5/10
Hours- Good hours. I wish it was open longer in the summer. 10/10
Prices- Prices are standard compared to other places when I played them except we do not pay for air. Paint is cheap compared to some places. 9.5/10
Rules- Rules are enforced rather well. The are some wannabe speedball kids that come out and shoot hot markers but they are either caught or do not last long playing there. Regular players also help to enforce rules and things usually run smoothly. The only rule I hate there is Dead Man Walking rule. This is when a person walks the field with his marker down, making himself look out when he is not. He gets behind the other team and either surrenders someone or shoots them from behind. This is a standard used in scenario games on A LOT of fields. I do not like this rule period, especially in a recreational game. Lately, I have not seen anyone do this in awhile. 8.5/10
Services- Hmmmm, well what this mean? Tech services? Well there is usually someone there that can help out whether they work there or they are a regular.
Proshop- Well, they have this and that. Tanks, masks, markers (they can order I believe), accessories. 8/10
Staff- Great people. Tom can be a smartallek. 10/10
Refs- Refs do their job to the best of their abilities most of the time. They need more of them in my opinion but with the regular players and home teams, it is kept in order. When it to summer time, I have noticed markers start spiking. When this happens or when people say there are a few people shooting hot, they make people chrono again. Works out rather well. The only time I have seen kid refs on the field is when they are helping out an adult ref. They are mainly there to learn. 99% of the time, it is an adult ref on the field. 8/10
Players- Beginners, a few tournament, and scenario players. There is a big mix. Most of the people are woodsballers and scenario players. Most everyone is friendly. Only a few grumpy looking ones. They warm up after awhile. 9/10
Facilities- There are two portolets unlike mentioned in other reviews here. They are kept as clean as possible. Unfortunately there is no electricity or running water. 7.5/10
Food- They sell cold drinks and they make a pizza order for lunch. There is a convenient store less than five minutes away. 8/10
Since starting to play here I have seen a lot of improvements to the field of play. Right now, they are in the middle of making new ones. With these changes it keeps the fields from getting boring and monotonous. |

First of all this field is over all good, but ONLY when you HAVE friends(about 3 or more) there to play with.
Pros:
- Cheap prices
- Free tools, all day air
- Woodsball/ A&D
- Some friendly players
- Good location
- Sometimes the Refs can be nice, one of them gave me 3k of piant! :)
- Little kid refs are gone.
Cons:
- Refs stack teams
- Refs don't do anything (i swear the refs are zombies)
- Refs are dicks. (Ref called for a last game when a few players told the refs they were going to play he complained under his breath saying "I should have F'ing left!"
- Players wipe (cause of the bad ref calls)
- Not enuff tables
- Fields are all linked together
- The workers hate to do their jobs and complain ALOT! |

Well lets just go down the line
Safety-
A bare minimum. The Goggles and barrel covers highly enforced but thats about it.
Fields-
In a bad need of repair
Hours-
The hours are decent and the refs keep the games rollin' when they do get started
Prices-
Cant complain
Rules-
This is the only field in Tampa where rules are made up by players and the owners do nothin' about it (there is a story behind this comin' up)
Services-
!? There are services at this field !?
Proshop-
If you feel like being ripped off sure use the proshop
Staff-
I've seen more motivation out of road kill than some of the people "working" at this field
Refs-
HA! If you would call kids who barely make the minimum age limit to play at the field refs then by all means yes they have em'
Players-
I've seen more wiping and other various forms of un-honorable play here in one day than in the entire span of my paintball experience
Facilities-
I've seen better at an outlaw field
Food-
They do pizza orders
Every here of "Dead Man Walking" play? No? Well its a play that only Orbital allows. Its where a player walks the line pretending to be out to get around the other team then proceeds to eliminate said team from behind. Well the very last time my team and I played at this field together we encountered this "new rule." During one the games I was out and watching my teammates from the sideline when I saw one of the players from the other team walking up the silde line pretending to be hit go behind teammate 1 and try to surrender him then he continued down the sideline. Teammate 1 the turned to teammate 2 and yelled "Fire." Teammate 2 proceeded to unload his hopper into Opponent untill he called himself out. The 3-4 more times that day our entire side was defeated horribly because of this. My teammates made many calls, sent emails and letters to the owners with no avail.
If you only get one thing out of this review take this with you
THERE ARE MUCH BETTERS FIELDS WITHIN DRIVING RANGE.
Try Blitzkrieg off of 275

Soo...my cousin invited me to go to paintball!
Its "Outta the way" for me...but It was VERY FUN!
Pro Time:
Good Store Managers
Great Refs.
Great Play.
O.K Pricing.
Nice Gameplay.
Sturdy Fortress (if you have played you know what i mean)
Lots of barriers.
Usually Nice, Good, Strategic Players (The REDZ are nice players)
Large "Woods Ball Field"
Paint Is Always "close to hittin' "
Con Time:
None It was great games.
Safety?:
I Suggest No One Under 11.
If you are running you can trip on roots, Rocks and other dangerous stuff
The barriers can sometimes be dangerous, Sharp.
Basically you MUST be a Cordinated person to go to ANY WOODS BALL FIELD!
i am a cordinated person so i say that this Orbital is a GREAT FIELD 10/10
PS: Just because my PAINTBALL EXPERIENCE is low i am a skilled marksman in any sport of weaponry. |

I stopped by to play recball for the first time in a long time, and wow was I suprised.
First the pros:
1. Paint was flying well and decently priced
2. Staff was AWSOME, from the shop people to the refs, very impressed
3. I saw a flyer for a scenario at this field, finally!!!!!!
4. Saftey!!!! I have played places where safety is not enforced, the refs were STRICT on it here!!! One ref (I think his name is Tom?) constintly stayed on the players to place the barrell covers on and KEEP THOSE MASKS DOWN!!!!!! From what I saw he was normally the last one off the field, very attenetive!!!
5. THE GAMES!!! From straight hyper ball, to complex scenario type games, I enjoyed them all!!!! The games were fast paced and intense!
6. one last props to the refs. It seemed that the temps were making some markers spike. When someone brought it up, the other ref got a chrono to make everyone re-chrono. I saw over 10 people (there was a good crowd there) get caught shooting well over the posted 290 fps. The refs sat there and made sure everyone who went on the field was within the rules and safe!! Thanks guys!!!!
Cons:
1. A better sign out front would be great, the one out there does the job though.
2. A/C????? LOL
In all I give this place a 9/10. I will definetly be back to this field in the near future!!!| Last edited on Monday, June 4th, 2007 at 7:55 am PST |

Wow...these guys have been busy. The fields have changed dramatically, the trailer looks good, the airball fields are starting to grow grass, what else can i say. Joey was a great ref out in the woods, the games stay very organized and it seemed I got at least 12 games in that day. Turn around time was great....Keep up the good work Orbital. The only bad thing that i can think about is the sign at the entrance, a bigger better one would bring in more people. |

Man, where do I start?
How about driving to this place, there is almost no sign at all.
When you get there, be sure you use bathroom right away, otherwise go into the woods( or whats left of them). One bathroom for all the people there. You will regret it later.
If you show up at 9AM, you will wait at least hour and fifteen minutes to start playing.
They have no idea how to organize anything.
Nets are falling apart, to get into the game you have to dodge paintballs from all over.
Hey, at least you can warm up that way.
Paint check-up doesn't exsist here. People do wipe out paint. It's the nature of this place. Be an a-hole and don't worry about a thing.
Ref's are a bunch of screw-ups,and they just walk around doing nothing.
I got shot, I raise my gun showing everybody that I'm going out, but believe me they will shoot you ten more times while you are walking out.
Ref's didn't give crap about it, I guess it was funny.
Well one day I said it's enough, I started shooting people too, and ref's all the time.
They were pissed, but there is no way to say who did it. HA HA HA.
I've seen people almost getting into fights, it's just a paint damn it. Yeah it hurts HA HA.
A lot guys complaint about all of these things.
So if you have to go there, make sure you shoot guys getting out, shoot the refs, those freaks are walking so slow you can't miss.
Unfortunatelly we have to go there, not many paintball fields in tampa area.
Just watch out for the kids and try to have fun.
One last thing, don't eat oranges........................

Orbital is a great family orientated field. Staff is very helpful and welcoming. Primarily played woodsball, and had a great time. Regulars are very friendly and professional. Games are well organized and start soon after one ends. I'm new to the sport and had a great time. Would recommend this field to anyone, beginner or veteran. |
