When I was young and played quite a bit there was no place to go during the winter. All you could do is day dream about playing paintball for 5 months out of the year. I am very glad to have an indoor paintball field on my way home from work. Dan the owner and his staff are extremely knowledgeable about the paintball, equipment, and safety.
I have read a lot of reviews where people talked about how rude these people are. I have seen this rudeness first hand when people do really stupid and unsafe things (like taking their mask off during a game). Yes they have young people playing paintball there, and yes they take their rules to a bit of the extreme side. That's one of the things I admire about them. The last two things I want are: a kid to take my eye out because they do not know/care about being safe, or a paintball exiting my barrel to do serious damage to someone (especially if it could have been prevented by proper safety measures). After getting to know Dan's wife (the lady behind the counter) I found she is very talkative and friendly
Two of the three fields are indoor, with no rainfall the bunkers do get covered with paint. So plan ahead and do not wear your best Sunday clothes.
I remember the first time I played there (years ago) being upset because I had to turn the velocity on my marker down to 260fps. After playing there a few times I don't mind that either. Being indoor hyper and air ball you tend to be getting hit close enough it seems like 300 or more fps to me.
Bottom line is Intense Paintball is a fun place to go play, and the prices are fair. What the field really needs is more paintballers, so I hope to see you there. |

FIRST REVIEW(I only get my tank filled, I didn't play. I'll update after I play Friday)
I walk in, there are kids everywhere! I'm a kid but, most of them looked like they were clueless. And, it was the day after Christmas event. New electric spyders everywhere! I found that funny.
Only one or two people, out of a dozen or so, had barrel socks on, tanks were on, hoppers on, and I wouldn't be surprised if their safeties weren't on. I didn't feel safe in there not having my mask on.
Out of the 3 staff I talked to, 2 were just meh. Didn't seem happy to be there. The one guy who filled my tank though was nice. He complimented me on my tank cover.
I didn't see any refs on the field. That surprised me.
The fields looked pretty clean, could barely see though. The airball field was dark, barely any lights. They were playing on the other field though, which seemed lit better. I'm guessing they were saving power and had it so you could just see where to go not to run into a bunker.
Overall, I don't think I've been to a worse field. I hope that there is more order on New Years Day. I hope I can give this field a better review after I play Friday.
---------------
UPDATE - 1/1/10
Better than I first though. I will definitely be going back. Only place in NE Ohio to play indoors, I think the only 2 other indoor fields in OH are in Cincinnati and Toledo.
What was the same:
Lighting on one field was the same, not too bad when you're playing though.
Field was pretty clean like I said, still could have used a bit of cleaning though.
What was different:
Safety was better than I thought before. Glad, that is so.
Staff seemed a bit more helpful, guess it was just one of those days nobody wanted to be there.

I traveled three hours from pennsylvania to ohio because they were the only file dholding an event that day. it ws worth th trip. the two refs we had were fair and alert. the owner was a great guy, we talked for a while and he was very appriciative. the two young ladies behind the counter were very nice and efficient. some places take thier time but they filledmy ai up and gt me back in the game in a timely fasion. thefiled is small but fun. they are in the middle of town, so they made due with what they had, and they pulled it off. me and my wife had a blast. they has door prizes and competive prices. didnt get to play on the indoor field but i wanted to see it and the refs took the time to show it. i am going to go back to this field becuase they know what they are doing. To the owner and employees of intense paintball- well done |

This was the first time in a few years that I have been to Intense, as I am getting back into the game. Not much has changed except the airball field and hyperball field have been switched. All in all, my experience was very good, just like every other time I have been here. I kind of hate pbreview sometimes, because the only people that write reviews anymore are generally people that didn't like it. Evey time I get on here I see people complaining about paint prices and safety rules and everything. If you are used to buying crap paint at Wal Mart for 20 bucks and playing ball in your backyard, then your going to be mad when you have to pay real prices for real paint and follow some rules. I think Dan and his family get a bad wrap because people that have good experiences go home and just for get about it. The only ones that review are mad because they want paint for $20 a case and don't like it when they get yelled at for breaking rules. Seriously, how hard is it to keep your mask and barrel cover on? In short, I had a great experience at Intense just like every other time I have gone there. |

I will make this as short and simple as possible. The refs and employees are rude, why this is I have nooo idea. They did however help me in fixing my gun and installing a new board. The fields obviously suck but if you want to get back at the employees for being so rude, just enter a tourney their team is in. I don't know which is worse their fields or their factory team haha, sorry its just the truth. Every time I heard them cursing around little kids there i gave them an extra shot in the back when i bunkered them. |

The safety rules were normal and the staff was great and the owner was very helpful. The field is mulch so theres not much slideing for smaller groups the fields can be seperated the ref was great and very informative.
My Only discrepency i had with the place was that some of the bunkers were just caked with paint. But other than that I will most likely be visiting this field again. |

I played at this field 3 times and this is what I think of the field.I'll start off with the negatives. They are to strict on rules and the lady their is mean. I understtand safety is important but one time I brought my 23 year old cousin and he forgot his barrel cover and the ref grabbed him and dragged him back on the field and yelled BARREL COVER SIR!!! I think that was way out of hand for them to do that. Also the reffing sucks. I had a private party and hired 2 refs and the one left half way through the party. It's pretty pricy after a day of paintball you spend about $50. The positives are that the field has a pretty nice pro shop and the owner dan shiring is a very nice guy who always tries to answer your questions and help you if your having problems with your equiptment. Also, this field has 2 indoor fields and an outdoor field the indoor field is great for winter but the lighting sucks. All in all it's an ok place to play but if you go their prepare to hear alot of rules and to be yelled at. This is my honest opinion and i'm not trying to trash this fields reputation in any way. |

I used to play at this field for around 6 months. At first i liked this field and then it turned. The people that own it seemed stuck up and dont seem to really care about their customers. I feel that their prices are high for what you get. Their field is of poor quality. first off the field is small. the bedding is all mulch so you cant slide. the mulch itself is horrible because of all of the old paint mixed in with it. The ceiling is dripping water constantly. every 20 minutes or so the bunkers had to be reaired because you couldnt use some of the bunkers durring play. their outdoor field i only played once and it was a hyperball field and i only like airball. they're employees are pretty nice. if you ask them to they will help and a few will give you pointers for play. all in all i would suggest playing in the rain or snow.

I went to Intense expecting things to be good. They make the field sound great on the site but when you get there, the place is really a dive.
The shop is not bad, but after going to Intense and dealing with the employees I would never give this family any of my money again.
The woman who ran the register was not only stuck up, but her daughter was aswell. They were both rude and there was an elitist vibe I got from them. The prices were decent, but that was pretty much it.
The refs were some of the laziest refs I have ever seen in my life. In all my years of playing (7 total,) I have never seen refs who cared less than the ones at Intense. Literally we were stuck picking teams ourselves and they only would say 3 things the entire 4 hours I was there. "Are you ready? Game starts in 3-2-1. Game over." They truly did not give a crap about the players. They stood in one spot the entire game. Why even have refs if they do NOTHING.
The field itself was layed out well, but the ground is terrible. There is close to nothing on the ground for padding. It is literally just compacted dirt which is as hard as pavement. I wore some kneepads and walked out of there with a gigantic bruise on my knee, even with the pads. The other people there did not slide at all because they knew there was no padding on the ground and it would hurt too badly. The lighting was very poor also.
There was too much downtime between games. They only way for the refs to even get games started was to see us all on the field waiting for them. They never once talked to us in the staging area.
The other people I came with also felt that Intense was a horrible field. We shared similar feelings that the refs did not care, the owners were not friendly. and the field was horrendous.
I would not suggest anyone goes to Intense. Even when you are desperate to play indoor, I would recommend traveling anywhere other than there. I will never be going back.
EDIT: Here is a picture of the bruising to the horrible floors at intense paintbal.

I have been playing for a year and This was the first place i went to play paintball. I had the best time i ever had. The Refs are awsome, when they are waiting for people to come in and play they will give you some advice, play around and have fun with the players waitin, but when it comes down to the matches they are always find people that are hit and try to wipe.Marry Lou (Owner)will be there when you come inside and help you get started. She will get you a waiver to sign off on. She will go over all the rules and then help you get set up.They are strict with their rules. They have rental Tippmann98's and everything you need to play other than paint for $15. Paint is reasonable. It is useally $15 for 500, $25 for 1000 and $49 for a case. They have fill stations for both HPA and CO2 Dan, (the owner) Zack ,and Stephanie (Their Children) are all Certified Techs. They know alot about almost every gun out there. They can find out whats wrong with your gun and give you good prices in order to fix them. They have a Pro shop that has alot of used and new products for sale. And what ever they don't have they can order it for you and get it for just about the same thing you can get it from the Name brand dealers and you don't have to pay shipping as if you ordered it ofline.Anything you order is useally in between 1 to 2 weeks.
Their fields are awsome. They have a Big speedball field that they just switched from the small field. The small field is now full of Hyperball. They run a net down the middle so you can play 2 games at once. The lighting is bad somedays but 9/10 times that i have been there they are great. They also have a outdoor field for in the summer. It is always fun to get out and slide around on the grass. The indoor field is mulch for a floor. Its slippery but it is still good to play on.
One thing that is good is since they get a wide variety of speedballer and woodsballers and newcomers to paintball is that they try to divide the teams up so they are even. If you were like me and have a 98 or A-5 or some woodsball gun you can still go up against us Speedballers. One rule there is not to over shoot people. Both refs and Marry Lou keep an eye and ear out for people who over shoot. Try to come up and play and see that what i have told you on here is true. These guys are the nicest people you'll meet. The owners and refs are all very nice. If your new to the sport and want to go somewhere where you can have fun the Intense paintball is the place for you.
Go and play and maybe one day you'll go from wondering about the sport to loving the sport and remembering that Intense is where you learned to love it.| Last edited on Friday, May 23rd, 2008 at 2:46 pm PST |
