Plenty of parking. Friendly staff. Great on safety.
Most of the fields here right now are woods fields. They have a lot of woods fields. I would guess around at least 6 different ones. Maybe more.
They are about to open The Zone. This is 4 speedball fields w/ stadium lights, netting, etc. Im not sure how they are going to do it, but they were considering either 4 airball fields. Possibly they would do 2-3 airball fields, 1-2 barrel or hyperball fields. It hasnt opened yet, but is near completion.
I play here as it is about 10 minutes from my house. The experience level is not that high. Many many begginers and young people shooting rental guns. There are several guys that have high end equipment and they divide everyone up as evenly as possible.
Pricing is about the same as anywhere else. Refs are limited. They do make some calls, but there are usually so many ppl, that they cannot watch them all. The honor system comes into play somewhat, but most players there are fair and dont cheat. There may be a few that wipe, but thats w/ anywhere in paintball. Most ppl are honest in my experience at this field.
have food, bathrooms, proshop, and staging areas. They have to fill your tank though, and sometimes there are a lot of ppl in line and you need to wait. Best thing to do is just take your tank up there, and tell them to fill when they get to it. Then go get yourself a drink and go back and get your tank. |

This is a great field to play at. There are lots of different courses with prep areas at each one so you don't have to walk back and forth. They provide water and stuff to clean masks at every field. The refs are good and try to keep a close eye for wiping and who is out. They are VERY stong on saftey which is great for newer players and kids. Guns are checked, masks required at all times on the field and barrel plugs are watched closely off the field.
The staff is one of the best things about this place. They are all very helpfull and friendly and I have seen them go out of their way to ensure that people have a good time.
Night ball on Fri and Sat offers a more challanging game of tourney ball alternated with rec games allowing for everyone to play in the style they like the most. Night field requires white paint so bring some or get it there. |

Well, I have played at this field for about 2 Years. So, far i have a lot of fun. There arent a lot of things that i can complain about. The prices are quite expensive, but i play stock so that really doesnt bother me. You cant really play that agrressive due to the 20 foot rule, and the 5 foot no shoot rule. White paint for dodge 'em only, so if you want to play one of the best fields you will have to pay for there paint. I give this field a 9 for a first timer, but a 5 for speedballerz. |

Prices:
This field can be pricey for a player who doesn't have his/her own gear (luckily I have my own). Specifically, the prices for a case of paint (2000 balls) is around $60. When I first started playing there, the price for the same amount of paint was around $40. Rental fees are similarly priced throughout fields in the area.
Rules:
For new players, the rules are very good. You must call for surrender within 20 feet and you can't shoot within in 5 feet (must tag the player). Their rules are very good for protecting new players, but can be boring for more experienced players.
Refs:
The refs try their hardest to watch the games. However, there are only 2 refs on the field at any certain time. With the number of players reaching up to 100, 2 refs can't efficiently watch the game to make sure all the players are playing fair.
Fields:
The fields are awesome. They have a great fort field and an old Western town call Dodg'em City.
If my rating was solely based on fields and rules, my rating would be a 10. However, the high cost for new players and the lack of refs on the fields, I must rate this field a 7.| Last edited on Monday, March 6th, 2006 at 8:21 pm PST |

This was a alright field. It could go either way . The fields were cool and all but the refs didn't watch the game at all.I kept shooting this kid and hitting him ,but i guess he kept whiping his paint. All of a suden a guy with a tippman came up and shot me and of course the ref just happend to see that. The courses are good especially dodge em city, but the only bad thing is white paint only. The fort is an awsome field and there really isnt a bad thing to say about it. Its a little pricy and co2 cost alot there its about a 5 out of ten |

Hit and Run is not my favorite place. It is on okay land the referees can be cool, but there's one that gets on my nerves, he says almost everyone sucks, except him, he called my friend on splatter.... they let you bring carry-on paint, they have awesome woodsball fields. I would suggest buying paint there, or if it is too expensive, just buy it at your local paintball store or something , but make sure that if you plan to play this field that you buy white paint or else you are going to feel soooooooo left out at Dodge em' City.
Likes:Fields, Referees, Staging areas at EVERY FIELD more than one chrono station, hot food on sale, rentals on everything (marker setup, camo, pods...) in case you have a friend that wants to play. Field paint is DraXxus, Advanced field is the ultimate in woodsball, the fort is really tight, the facilities are top-notch, huge parking lot,
Dislikes: the Jungle has a really cool setup, almost like speedball, but it is always too muddy, White paint only on Dodge em' , Max velocity is a little lower than I like, NO SPEEDBALL OR HYPERBALL!!!. The thing closest to that is Spoolsville...
I would not reccommend it over Madd Doggs or Fun on the Run| Last edited on Monday, July 24th, 2006 at 9:51 pm PST |

This was my first time to play and had heard good things about this course, but it could not be further from the truth. The prices are high and the staff is not very friendly. The courses are nice but allow to many people to play at once and the teams are not spit very even at all!!!!!The refs are rude and do not watch the field like they should but then again how can you watch 77 people at one time with only two refs present also there were several local players in the game that were cheating and when i brought this to the attention of the staff they acted like it was no big deal i though wiping paint off was one of their biggest nonos in the game but it happened three times in less than two games i was tired of it and left the park ,I would shoot someone and they would turn around wipe the paint off and then shoot me very unprofessional. If you are going to make me sit through a 30min orientation about playing fair and the rules i would think the rules would be enforced. They were very good on the other hand when it can to safety regarding mask ect . To play the western town i was informed i would have to buy their paint to play even after i payed to use my own paint. My over all experience was not good at all i give hit and run a 2 out of 10. |

Some people might hate the woods ball and think it is for noobs. I'll tell you this. They are fast paced paintball games housed in the woods and if you are a good paintball player you should be able to play anywhere. All games are timed to help keep players playing and the game count up. There is a separate staging area around each field, the refs supply you with extra barrel plugs, water, cups, paper towels and other stuff. I have been to many paintball fields but none have had water for the players and not many had a staging area for every field. Being able to take your mask off between games, able to clean off your goggle shot and taking a drink between games is great. Refs are professional. High on safety, strict on it too. If you think that strict refs are bad then you are not realizing the great care they take for your safety! Staff is well trained and very help full too.
Many new paintball players start off at hit and run, so you will see alot of newbies. You were also a newbie too. Hit and run can handle up to and over 600 players at one time. (they have done it before!) The number is real, 600 players! This is an insane amount of players. They do a good job of splitting the teams up evenly and rotating fields as best as possible. With that many players playing the refs do the best damn job of reffing than I have ever seen. They walk around the field checking all the players all threw out the game. What other DFW fields do that? NONE. All the other refs sit on the side lines and let everything go. How lazy and unsafe. Although they do now run on a schedule for fields you will play dodge m' around 3:00 and then for around 4-4:30ish for the rest of the day. Refs run games fast(up to 6 per hour at 12 minuets a game) So if you miss a game, its just a game. You get at least 2 different safety briefings for different types of games on a few of their fields.
Scenario/all day games. Hit and run does an all day/scenario game every few months. They open up all their fields and play capture the flag, capture the fort, etc. These are the games to go too! Hundreds of players, lots of fun! Great for the first time players.
Not many problems to hit and run, a little expensive. If a large crowd is bad then your stupid. I hate going to other fields and playing with like 15 ppl. Half of them suck and do nothing. At least at hit and run there are good players spread threw out the crowd. FYI, an average crowd is 50+ ppl. The fields can handle this number well. WIth large crowds it does take a few min. longer between games to make sure everyone has their plugs in, etc.
All in all, this field is a great place to start off playing. Very Player-Friendly. Even though the fields are in the woods, they are fast paced games. Speed ball is on the way, alot of changes are headed to hit and run. It is a place for the family. You are able to bring your mother to play paintball and she would have a good time. The atmosphere of hit and run is more professional than most paintball parks. The added safety shouldn't be thought down upon.
I hope this review encourages many of you to come out and give hit and run a visit.
I feel safe playing here. I do not feel nearly as safe as I do any place else. In safety, hit and run is a 10. This alone should be your big concern- safety. |

This was a great place to get started. Very nice, very informative. They rotate games quickly, so your never not playing! All they have is woodsball feilds. Sure, they have a fort, and car, and spool field, but trust me, all of them are so delapitated, it's all woodsball. Refs are young, and don't really pay attention. Too many kids and large groups. When there are a lot of people there, they don't seperate into groups, they put everyone on the same fields. Lately, getting a lot of players showing up that whipe like crazy. Refs don't catch it, and probably don't care.
Lastly, this place is expensive. Field fee, BYOP, and all day HPA = $45!!!! Paint starts at 62.00 a case.
Beginners, and woodsball players = I would rate this a 7
Advanced, or experienced players = I would rate this a 2 |

This place is good for those of you that come from paintballing in the woods. Dodgem City is really fun, but also scary at times. Defend the fort is really cool, and it is equally challenging for the attackers and defenders. This field is deffinently not for the pro, more directed towards the recreational Paintballer. Although they are opening a speedball field very soon. The only negative I have is there repair costs on equipement. I had My Pure Energy Nitrogen tank filled, but when i got it back it was leaking. The employee couldnt tell me why it was leaking, he just said it would cost me $12 to fix it! Well i called Pure energy and found the problem, it was a simple nipple o-ring which they are sending to me for free!! |
