Pro's: This is a paintball park. They have many different paint ball fields that are actually pretty cool. They rent out paintball guns and sell paint. If you buy paint at their store you can bring it out to the field and not pay a paint fee. They have referee's and are really strict about your safety.
Con's: Expensive. You pay almost $22 to rent a gun and you get 100 rounds of paint. I am sure that is standard, but seems a little high for the quality you get. You have to walk about 500 yards or more to the fields while wearing your goggles the whole time in the hot Texas heat. Sorry just seems excessive when you sign a waiver stating you will not be stupid. (Do not flame me for that last sentence cause I do not care) The rental equipment broke down, A BUNCH. When I would take it back I got a little guilt trip talk before I was issued another gun. Had to change out guns about 3 to 4 times.
If I had my own gun I probably would of had a great time, but this place did not really appeal to the player that had to rent equipment. Overall I would probably come back to this place if I had my own equipment, but while I am renting I feel they do not deserve my business.
I used to paintball alot, but havent been in a while so i thought that i would start back up again and check out my old favorite field Fun on the Run. However it had moved locations so I had no experience on thier new field. When I got there they were very nice and attentive. My CO2 tank busted and they traded me my broken one for a rental for free for the day and fixed at thier shop just about a mile or two down the road. I was also pleased to see some of the refs and workers had been there since I quite playing (4 years ago) so they know what they are doing and have good employee dedication. The other really nice thing is if you buy paint at one of their stores and save the recept then they dont charge you to bring it to the fields (I got some fairly decent cheap ones for 42 dollars). So after the day was over I played for 5 hours and only spent 11 dollars. very positive experience. Oh yeah and they have great fields i think there were 7 or 8 all fun and great variation.
Not a single thing I could say bad about this field
Well this is probally one of the best fields i have ever played. Alot more expensive then the others also. You have the option of getting charged up the butt for paint or buying paint elsewhere and getting charged up the butt for field. The night games are fun although there is a lot of sandbagging and the games can end up being 20 on 20 which is pretty retarded. Almost everyone there likes to whipe up there hits especially the owners team or whatever.. Texas Torn. The field is pretty large at night but still good. The day play is good for you woods players. The price is a little heavy if you ask me, but i seem to be the only one saying that so. This field is good but could be alot better. Good atmosphere, friendly people( although i did see a guy shoot at another guy after being overshot and another guy used the f-bomb quite frequently at another after being accidently shot by another guy during chrono), and nice field, but poorly executed, badly refed and alot ,i mean alot, of whiping. All in all about an average field. Nothing to rant and rave about.

Mad Ivans(FortWorth), Extreme Concepts(Mansfield),
Betta than both of these fields. Prices are better and better fields.
FOTR is a place for the speedball playa and wooded playa. It accomadates both playa's. Which im a speedball player so I love it. They have a coo night ball field, it feels like your playing in a stadium under lights. Its very spectator friendly, which is actually too spectator friendly. Too many people coach and give away stuff. The players are actually a couple of feet from ya. They have 3 or 4 wooded fields that are pretty big so lots of people can play at once. Which means more bodies to splat!!!
They have good prices $10 to play, $10 for all day air, if u buy their paint which is at their store it doesnt cost to bring your own paint. But if u dont buy their paint its $10. Which is respectable. On Saturdays they have night ball under lights, in which they play speedball. Woo hoo!!!! Good games. All levels of play come out to play on saturday nights. Plenty of refs also.
The thing I dont like is that the refs dont care much and do bark alot. They need to help people more than put them down. The speedball games at night on saturday are run kinda bad. They split the groups up into skill level. So there could be 20 on 20 at one time on a speedball field. Thats kinda overboard. The could run that better. Like have groups waiting to go out in small groups like 10 on 10 at the most. Hopefully the work on that. But thats about it on the negative.
The field and owner are nice. They are always out there. The whole family i believe is involved which is good to see. All in all i like playing there. U wont be dissapointed no matter what style u play.
FOTR is a great place to play for everyone. If you are new and just starting out this has what you need, if you are experienced this has what you need. Prior to playing at Madd Dogz this was field got my vote for best in the area. It is a really nice place. I have never had any problems with staying with the group of guys I play with, I have never seen the ref's talk down to anyone, and the owners take a real intrest in you the customer. The owners are not quite as busy glad handing the folks that come out the way some other fields are but thats ok by me. The prices are fair, not the cheapest and not the most expensive, plus you can buy your paint in their shops and they waive the byop fee. With that option you get the best of both worlds, you can buy 'your' brand of paint and not be charged extra for it.
The major knock I have on this place is the walking. It can really wear on you later in the afternoon when you have been playing all day. Going from whoville, taking a short break to reload at the very nice staging area and walking to the wooded speedball at 3pm is enough to make you cry uncle. My minor knock is if your playing rec and you get out of rotation with the rec group, you might be sitting for a long long time. Say you get there, take care of all your business and have your stuff ready to go but the rec group headed out five minutes ago. If thats the case you will be sitting while they walk to that distant field, get set up, play two games, take that long walk back, and then reload and refresh. If you miss the group, you will prolly be sitting for 45 minutes to an hour. Its not really the fields fault if they don't have enough people at a particular time to run two rec groups, just be aware that if you miss the boat, you might want to take that opportunity to eat a snickers cause you won't be going anywhere for a while.
ok field kicks ass.refs are kinda pissy,but kool.But i got a story
March 28,2004.Tourny time.Bout to make it to the finals and this team (that wont be named) virus b,wich arent that great. We took at 2 of there players and one left.i ran up and bunkered him from kinda far away.He called himself out and started walkin back to the dead box.My back players got the flag and was about to hang it,mean while (what we didnt know) that the guy i shot realized that the paintball didnt break,so he turnes around shoots me and my back player,AND THEY WIN!!!!!!!!o well just wait virus b.we will see yall in june.
Refs are GREAT, they are fair and try to keep the peace as much as they can, even though some people break the rules....i.e. there rule on masks..mess with it ONCE and you sit out for 2 games and do it again and they say they will kick you out....paintballs and feild fees are the cheapest i've seen anywhere around, And for that guy who said that he never say the airball feild, thats b/c the only use that at nightball during the summer months or for tourments
P.S....do you know how long it take to put and take down an airball feild?????

Offical Paintball Games of Texas (Forney), Hit and Run (Mansfield), Midcities Combat (North Richland Hills),WiseGuys (Boyd), and DFW Adventure Park (Roanoke)
what can I say.
well to start for owning a field and TWO stores, they have bad people running the park.
refs dont care much about anything except they are working on there DAY OFF.
they snap at newbie and casual players. An dspend most your time at the counter waiting on them to finish talking to there team buds that are there. the fields are great.
One of the BEST TOWN fields out there. HUge 2-3 story buildings i mean 4+ wall houses not a plank of wood that you hide behind. you get some nice alleyway fights and sniping out of windows stuff.
now to the bad stuff. breaks..? HAH the moment you leave the nice covered work area you put mask on. hick 1/2 mile to a field play 1,2,3 times then hike back 1/2 mile then get to take your mask off. man in 98-100 texas weather talk about stroke time. since the fields interact so much there is no safe place to take a breathe. A NICE NET BOX at every other field would be nice. and the speedball fields are allways packed with 10-12 teams PRACTICING. and they have an airball feild that I have never seen UP!
for the lack of confort and bad staff i have to kill the score.... sorry I wont be back
DFW Adventure Park, Official Paintball, Mad Ivan's, Fort Paintball, Mid-Cities Paintball, Denton Paintball
Playing Fields - Excellent! As good as or better than any place in the DFW area. Lots of variety, great speedball fields. Lots of land to play on.
Cost - Very Good. Comparable or better than most other fields.
Location - Excellent! Very accessible from the highway. Pretty good parking and staging area.
Referees - Poor. The referees speak to players as if they were chastising small children. Their demeanor ranges from abrupt to often rude. They rarely let you stay with people you come in with. They are generally short staffed for the number of players, which carries over into their attitude.
Summary - The fields are great, prices fair, and the location easy to find. However, I go to play paintball to enjoy myself. It is hard to enjoy myself when referees are constantly barking at players. I know referees have a responsibility to enforce the rules, but they need to balance that responsibility with the enjoyment of the people who pay their wages! They should try harder to give warnings to newer players to keep barrel plugs in, masks on, etc. before they sit them out for two games. Also, many people like to play with their family and friends. I'm not talking about tournament teams which sometimes may have to be separated, just friends. I may try this field again in the future to see if they make any changes, but until then I won't be a regular player at this field.
Mid-Cities, DFW AP, Dallas Paintball, Hit and Run, Official Paintball Games of Texas + others
This is by far one of the best field I have played at. There is a variety of field play to accommodate any level of player. They are continually expanding and improving the fields. The players and staff are friendly. I have played at Fun on The Run before they new location, yes, they had a previous location and this one is much better. I'm glad that the owners had foresight in seeing the need for expansion and the love of paintball.
Again I have been very impressed with every aspect of this field. I will have to say that recently I have noticed a difference in the quality of the reffing. I must say that the ref's need to get back to a higher standard and pay closer attention.
