TAAG - great but now closed.
Agape - growing and getting to be excellent
Blackbeard's has two speed fields: 1 air and the other pipes and other obstacles. Air is most popular and dirt/grass is better than the sticky, gooey gravel on the other field. $15 to play for the day is reasonable.
Problems - The problems are legion...
1. Too many private games where they prevent public play for certain games, even one on one games throughout the day.
2. Lousy referees. Afraid to get hit, they stay on the side and don't know what they are doing. On Sunday they even allowed shooting of "dead" players who are walking off the field.
3. No mandatory checking for hot guns. Radar is inside the field so it is pretty much an honor thing to check your guns. There were guns over 320 setting off the alarm and the refs didn't even look. Other players had to help the kids with hot guns make adjustments because one ref had no idea that it was even an issue.
4. Okay, that's enough for tonight...
Play at Blackbeard's only if you don't expect much or if you don't mind wasting money.
Black beards has been getting better since I first started going there about 3 months ago. Sometimes it takes forever to get a game going but they have been trying to limit things to 5 Min's between games. Depending on how many players are in a game there could be up to two refs per game. Went there once and got chroned one time the whole day. Next time I went we got chroned before each game, last week when I went nobody got chroned at all. The field is located in a family fun park and there are lots of first time players and little kids running around, but when teams show up to play its anything but a family setting with all the cussing, and fighting going on. I would recommend this field to anybody that wants a good game except when a few certain teams show up. When these two teams show up (I won't name their names) they act like they own the field and nobody else really gets a chance to play.
There are two fields, Air ball and hyper ball. I really enjoy the airball field but the hyper field is really hard on the knees.
Prices are 15 dollars for all day and 3 dollar co2 fills. Not sure on paint prices or HPA as we bring our own.
Overall I'll give this field a 6 as everything is cool except when a few certain teams show up.

This is a horrible field !!! The guys that work there are complete idiots !!! they fill up tanks way 2 high !!! Almost everytime i go i wait 30 min. between games !!! the only thing i like about it is the paint is cheap . And a lot of teams are starting to play there. I give it a 3 because the people that work there are stuiped !!!!!
waist of money. reffs dont know anything about the workings of a pb gun. if ur firing too hot they MAKE you cut your spring. WAAAY too much bonus balling. tourny players have been allowed to cheat so no one will play with you if you got anything above a sopyder or u r weaing a jersey. did i mention reffs suck? overcharge you for everything! UNSAFE
Raid Paintball, Agape Paintball Field, Splats Paintball Park
I played here once, and it was pretty cool. They have an airball, and a hyperball field. Most of the players and staff there are pretty cool. It costs 15 Dollars to have unlimited play for the day. I think they should make the CO 2 refills $1.50 instead of $1.80, also, the refs don't do much. But most of the time you can get a Player to ref the game. It's cool because it is close to where i live, i could walk their in 5 minutes. I wouldn't say it's the worst field in California like someone said earlier, but it isn't the best either. I'm happy with it, I think it's cool.
This is one of the whorst feild ever. All my years of playing paintball i never seen a feild where the reff's dont know what their doing, charge for such redicouls amount for one day, and on top of that the waiting time is FOREVER! My team got there and we setup and waited for a game. We waited for well over 30 minutes before got in the feild, we went in and play ONE game and they made us go back out. At least play a best out of THREE. We went and waited for about 45 mins until we got to play the next game. We got there around 9 am and we stayed until about 3 in the after noon, we only had about 5 games. Its well not worth the $15 entree and $10 all day air. They should at least do what Folsom Arena does. They have only one field but we went there late around 12 and played until 3 and with only 3 hours we had over 12 games, with 10 man teams too. Besides the newbies at Blackbeards, seems like they cant shoot anyone out so they shot their own guys out. Many of my teamates was shot out because of the stupid kids that sit in the back and say they want to play back. I almost got shot myself. Well, Bottum line DONT GO THERE, IT SUCKS!
Almost died as I watched in horror as the compresser pumped four thousand five hundred pounds of cubic pressure into a nitrogen tank only made for 3000 pounds of pressure. This field needs MAJOR improvement. I don't know what Blackbeards HQ thought when they hired their referees. Are they looking for idiots with no professional training? Anyone can do a better job then the referees at Blackbeards. Blackbeards needs to hire a new staff dedicated to helping the customer and not yelling at them frequently and saying ''YOU NEED TO GET THE SPRING CUT!'' Treate newbies with respect you reffs. Please, their is absolutely no courtesy at this field. I can not recommend this field until there are changes in staff positions. Boycott Maximum Paintball because they want you to pay the Maximum Price.

I played in the new air field and the field itself is cool. There was a lot of standing around in between games. I realize there is a need for reloading and adjusting but not as much time as they gave us. There is no chronograph station. One ref had a hand held so you had to hunt him down to get chronoed. Guns were not checked before they went on to the field. There could be more staging area, there are a few picnic tables, but not enough. Paint is reasonable. This field has a ton of potential, but management needs to step up. I give it a 5 because there is lot of room for improvement.
TAAG, AGAPE, RAID any are better than this place...
First off the price is ridiculous! 15 bucks entrance fee plus 10 bucks all day air. 25 dollars to play one f'n day there!!! On top of paint and such totals to about over 100 dollars. Wide verity of players from newbs to tourney players. Just got a sup air field that sux... bunkers are too close together... must have been set up by splats... never go to their store or their tournaments! The refs don't know $%&@ about paintball! Team RIP goes there every Sunday to "practice" (slaughter everyone who attempts to stand against them). Don't go there on a Sunday. Don't go there at all... put them out of business and go to TAAG! Marty the owner of TAAG is the nicest guy u will ever meet. Wast of time to go to Blackbeards. Giving it a 1.

Taag Paintball, 30 min. north of fresno. Take 41 to Yosimite Springs Parkway and take a left. Field is one mile up on left. Mostly woodball with some hyper and speed
Agape Paintball - Nice city settings and inflatable fields
Paranoid Paintball - Inflatable air field. Great Facility with lots of top notch players
I would have a very hard time recomending this field to other people. It is tempting because it is so close to town. However they have many problems with little children wipping paint and over chrono. They see the fields team do it so they belive that they can.
The playing surface is small pebbles which ends up tearing clothing. Also half way through the day the field is covered in water and smells like a chicken coup.
Some of the refs are cool but It just wasnt worth it to me. I took shots from 120 feet away that gave me blood welts. There is no way a gun that has been chronoed can do that.
The field would make a great 3 man field but they tend to make it 10 on 10 which turns it into a slaughter fest. There are always too many people in bunkers and I had several games where I was shot out by someone pushing me out of my bunker when they tried to tuck in.
If you decide to make it to the 50 or play a front man your normally on your own because the back players run for bunkers off of the break instead of blazing or sweetspotting.
I am not saying that every player there is bad. But 80-90% of them were dropped of by parents for the day and just dont have respect for other or the game.
I gave it a 2 because the refs are fun to talk to and play with but besides that I will not go back. There are other fields about to open in fresno however so Its only a little more time till there is an alternative.
