Gold Dragon Paintball is a place, for once, that you can actually bring your friends and your kids and not worry about the field or the fellow players treating them nicely. I have been with Gold Dragon Paintball for almost two years now, even before they opened, I was out there helping them make the fields and get ready to open up. The first thing that won my heart over about the owners at Gold Dragon was what they said to me (and have shown), "We will put what we make back into the field because we want to give people a nice, clean, fun atmosphere to play in. Plainly put, we want to treat the players right."
I think in a time period when people are looking out for each other less and less, it is a wonderful place for people to come. The fields are limited with the old style barrels and spools, but there isn't a thing wrong with that. Especially since these guys have very well laid out, thought threw plans on how they are going to advance this field to the next level (Sup Air, castles, etc.). Not only that, but these gentlemen take care to make sure that everyone is having a good time and playing safely. They truly know what it's going to take to advance the sport.
I can say a lot of the same for Extreme Outdoors, because they too, are excellent guys who are well on there way up. However, I have felt more at home at Gold Dragon since day one. Many other people agree with me and the individuals that own Gold Dragon have been a positive influence for so many of my friends on and off the field. This, for many reasons is why I find it hard to ever see myself calling another field my home field.
Oh, by the way, for those of you who say the competition at Gold Dragon is only newbies... well... yes, they do have a lot of newbies and groups out. However, if you hit the field on most Sundays, there are several good players who are calling this field thier home. If you don't believe me, come on out. They may not be pros, but they sure aren't "run of the mill newbies". The competition on this field is right where it needs to be heading. An even match of newbies and experience. If you get too much old meat in a field, it has a tendency to intimidate new guys interested in the sport and I think Gold Dragon is hitting on all cylinders, even this one.
Come out and play at Gold Dragon if you get the chance. It's a field you will never forget.
New Gen- Nice outdoor fields, not up to par service
Alamo- Not too bad, nice place to go when Gold Dragon isn't open.

Best field I've ever played. After AO day, there's been alot more rec ballers out there to play with, and their home team makes for pretty good competition. Very helpful staff; Jack, Claire and Jeremy are very friendly and can help with just about any problems with your marker and they make GD one of the safest places to play. They give very helpful tips to improve your game, and will even go out on the field and play with you when they can. This field has great paint prices- $45 a case, and they can order parts at very competitive prices. The speedball fields are great- the 5man, 3man and top gun fields provide several levels of play. There's also a sizable woodsball field and bunker hill for the scenario paintballers and an assault-the-caslte on the way. Gold Dragon's team and some rec ballers are normally out on Sundays, so there's usually some people to shoot at if you only have a couple of people with you. I highly reccomend this field.

New Generation In Easley. New gen has only one field, but it is sup air and indoor. The competition is greater at new gen also.

Gold Dragon's fields are great. Very clean and organized. The bunkers on the speedball fields are made of spools and plastic barrels. There arent any cracks, they have all been filled up so you dont have to worry about getting pegged through a tiny hole. The last tournament held out there was held very professionally, no problems at all. The owners are extremely nice and knowledgeable.
Bad: The competition level is rather low here. The owners can play some serious ball, but other than that, this field is pretty new and no experienced players have really found it yet. Therefore most of the groups out there are either first timers, or your average run of the mill newbie.
Also this is just my opinion, but I dislike the way the field is set up. They are planning to get sup-air soon, but since new gen changes every week and its sup air, its just funner for me.
Overall, they have everything you could want in a field besides good practice. Rentals, upgrades, nice clean fields and staging area, cheap paint and air. You should really check this field out if your in the area.
