i live in new jersey and my cousin lives in Auburn. When i went up to vacation at his house this past summer we went paintballing. when we went there was only the speedball field. Its a 3 man i think. It was fun, but the price for paint is way too expensive. Next time i go im bringing my own paint. It was still fun though.
Splat paintball in Bangor- it was open when i went so woohoo!!
Review:
I went there and it wasnt open. They had posted on their site the wrong day and so I drove from the Rockland area all the way to Lost Valley. It's right next to the ski area though so we rolled down a hill and that was fun. They had a lot of safetey signs up so they must be safe. My brother says that he saw some rental guns in the window but it could have been just theirs. They had a chronograph on a table so thats good too. The feild was airball and I think I remember seeing a center flag pole. There was netting all around so thats good too. Before you go check the date of play at least twice.
I give it a 3 because it wasnt open and the website was wrong.
They only have one field set up. They do more parties and special occations rather than every day play. They don't have a pro shop but the guys there will help you out. The people there were really nice. The refs knew what they were doing and were very fair. The limited brands of paintballs was a bummer because they were using Anarchy paint for the tourney I played in and it was brittle so it would be nice if they had more of a selection, but since they aren't busy they can't have paint sitting around getting old. The field set-up was cool. I think they change it often but I'm not sure. The field was on a soft sandy type of dirt but not too loose like sand, so it was good for sliding and you could still get good footing. The crono is up these stairs and behind a building. It's kinda cool but also a pain to go up there just to crono if you have to a couple of times. The refs have hand-held cronos on the filed as well. It would be better if the crono was moved next to the field but it not a big problem. I think this field could be really good if it got a pro shop and was then open every day or a couple days of the week. I hope they have more tourneys and get more sponsors to help them out and make the tourneys bigger and better. I'm looking forward to next year.
