Gator : wouldnt play there for all the stories of tim's cons and canivery
CFP: wider assortment of players (especially tournament) but lacking in that "local" feel , atleast for me ....
Directions to the Field:
Get on Northcliffe , turn into the curvy looking side of keysville turn into the parking lot at 4644 ...
ahhh , Elite Paintball , a nice little place , family ran/oriented , very friendly and helpful staff ... in fact I Bet if you stick around long enough you practically become family yourself , i did .... this field helped norture me from being a little kid running wild with a walmart gun to small time tournament player with the local team back a while ago ... I Love this field and doubt i could ever call any other field "Home" , it's hard to describe... Elite has came a long way and along with it I Grew with it .... nothing could beat Spending time with my friends : Jerry , Mike , Steve-o , Bob , Garret and the Vovan Family ..
Safety is #1 around here , and the reffing staff enforces it firmly but without the shouting and craziness you could find at other fields ... Masks are required in all shooting areas and barrels are covered everytime the game has finished
There is 1 always up-to-date Xball Field , 1 Hyperball Field , The "Graveyard" (Speedball) , and a good medium sized plot of woods where attack and defend , elimination , and capture the flag are played .... theres also been well packed scenarios everyonce in a while too. fields are kept clean and as safe as possible ... (amdnoob has an even better description of the fields below.)
Hours of operation are early until as late as you want (within reason of course)
Prices Can't be beat anywhere , Mr. v (The Owner) really really keeps the prices low , so that us kids can afford so we can have play and have fun .... field fee is lower than anywhere i can think of , paint is well kept and quality and sold almost at the lowest he can sell it , and the same with all the other products ... BEST VALUES OF ANY FIELD ANYWHERE.... ANYWHERE !!!!! it's like wal-mart "we have it for less".
Rules are stucken to like traditon , i heard someone accuse the refs of being biased on here and highly disagree , we just get excited sometime or are trying to get the game going...... WE REFUSE TO CUT CORNERS WITH RULES....
services are great , and quick , mr.v will fix your marker and have you out there in no-time for a mere $5.00 , sometimes very technologically knowledgeable refs (Jerry) will be able to help with fixing your marker too ...... Co2 fills come standard with field fee all you have to do is ask a ref or mr.v .. and of course you do your own air tank fills .... Help is always available just ask a member of staff !! we arent mean, unhelpful and coldhearted like some other fields in the area (cough cough)
Proshop is neat , well swept , and well kept ....Air Conditioned ... Lots of nice gear and accessories to look at in there and staff are always willing to talk , help and demonstrate for you.... this is also where you can get replacement parts if you lose or break them and if we dont have something it can just as easily be ordered in for you ....
Staff : again you cant beat the friendliness and helpfullness , Mr. V is very knowledgeable , helpful and stays going to workshops to stay up to date with newer products and how to fix them ... Mrs. V and her mother will help you in anyway they can...(also Mrs. V and her mother can also be good psychiatrists/advice givers in free time , lol)
Refs do their job the best they can (even though it can get difficult now and then) but are dedicated to meeting the #1 safetey rules , #2 Making sure you have fun and are satisfied and #3 judging a fair game
Players : We could do with more...as the economy has hurt paintball alot but.... Players are mixed , in all ages and experiences , from young 10-13 , teen 14-19 , and older 20 - 50 ......... nothing to be worried of about though, we're all tight-knit and look out for eachother ...... so as well as being a safe place , its a good place to learn and gain experience... older players are always ready to lend a hand with learning anything and if you ask the ref , he might show you a thing or two as well .....
Facilities : 1 well kept porta-potty , but there is a proper toilet in the back if your touchy about using it , again just ask in the shop , they'll direct you to it...
Food isnt like some italian or french restaruant (of course haha ) but is well-cooked , tasty and great if your looking for an outdoor get-together/picnic type thing ... Theres Hamburgers, cheeseburgers , hot dogs and various snacks like chips and jerky and some candy bars ..... drinks are available too ,kept ice cold in the fridge, theres many flavors of soda , water ,gatoraid , poweraid , and DNA energy drinks .... great prices on all of this and i gotta admit those burgers are that fire........
only thing i consider a con is sometimes we're short of players , but that's up to you ! bring friends , bring co-workers , bring family , bring everybody and their brother and that brothers cousin ! , bring your kids and their school-mates for a birthday party .....come for a wedding or quincenera , or for team-building excercises , we'll be ready for ya !!!
OVERALL , I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS FIELD TO ANYONE BEGINNER OR EXPERT , YOU JUST CANT BEAT IT IN ANY OF THE CATEGORIES !!! LIKE SOMEONE SAID EARLIER "WORTH TRAVELING ACROSS COUNTRY FOR !!!!" Elite has came a long way , and I have went to this field for a long long time and know it like the back of my hand from playing and working there as a ref ........ nothing compares !!! the perfect family owned paintball field.. COME VISIT !!!
10 out of 10 , top-notch , A+ , excellent !!!! ------ Richard S.
Mr.v is probably the best he will hook you upas far as he can. When i went there my first time i had a small co2 tank and he let me use a n2 tank which helped me alot. He has many types of drinks. His food is the best.A case of 2000 paintballs is 40 bucks he charges like 5 dollars to play on the field so its cool. Field paint only for safety reasons. thanks mr.v :)
First Off I want to say that this field is perfect for begineers. They have an air ball feild that is laid out very well, a hyperball field that is alot of fun to play on, another field that they call the grave yard (which besides the woodsball field) is my favorite. Mr. V is an extremely nice person, who checks on you all the time to see if your having fun. He is always trying to make it a pleasurable time when you out there. Oh, i almost forgot they also have a woodsball field that is pretty good. they vcould probably use more cover, and have something more than just a trench for one of their forts.
I only have one thing to really gripe about, and that would be their refs. The refs are kinda laid back. When we played woodsball they would sit on a blue barrel and didn't pay much attention to what was going on in the field. Sometimes they get a little biased, but they are good people to talk to. Always willing to give advice and tactics for doing things.
As far as service goes it really doesn;t get much better than here. I was putting my tank on and by the time i could hear the leak Mr. V had already taken my gun and replaced the o-ring on it. Now thats SERVICE!!!
Prices in the proshop are the cheapest around if you ask me. He has an Apex barrel i want for $40 and it retails for around $70. Even the little things like drinks are cheaper than any coke machine anywhere in the state of Florida...ok maybe not the $.25 machine but any pepsi or coke machine.
Mr. V and Elite paintball is a definate must check out kind of place. If your in the Spring Hill area you should make a trip here.
CFP (has better grass and broader selection of players)
Gator (bad experiences and imo Elite's X-ball field is better, can't say the same about woods though)
Directions to the Field:
Off of northclife blvd
Mr.V has great prices and tries to keep things cheap so even us kids can try to get out there and play, He makes Burgers and hotdogs for lunch and If something breaks We will get it fixed to the best of our abilities.
Our X-ball field is a very well set up field, We run the latest tournament layouts from the PSP and its a 2007 field with the 2008 expansion kit, I'll admit we don't have a lot of grass in the places we need it, but we are working on getting grass growing and we put artificial turf in the snake to help you clean freaks out. Our Hyperball field is all dirt but fair and balanced and great for the new kids to learn on. Our woods is on the small side but it keeps the action close and you can go for the hide in the woods type thing if you want.
-Do take mind I am a ref at this field on Saturdays. ( I tried to make it as unbiased as possible)
I used a GPS, but its easy to find if you use mapquest or google maps
I have been to this field twice in the last 2 weeks and its been great both times. The fields are good(the woods ball course could use a bit more cover however) and the hyperball and x-ball fields are well set up with them rotating the x-ball field layout every so often so no one has a huge advantage over someone who as never been there. MR. V, the Owner is great, very knowledgeable and polite, not like some other operators I've met. all of his products are very reasonably priced as well as their paint, he will charge you 5 dollars to fix your stuff if you take it to him and its something he really has to work on, but sometimes thats worth it. Their HPA goes up to 4500 you do it yourself, and the CO2 fills are good too(get a ref), with very reasonable prices for all day air. The refs are somewhat useless if you are playing a small game like 3v3 as they would rather sit on one end and talk to each other and not check people, but if you get their attention they are very honest and will run through crossfire to get to a paint check when they hear you and aren't too busy screwing around with their own guns., however, all in all I think this field is one of the best small fields I've played, they did a good job with the space they have and there aren't too many expert players to discourage visitors. I will definitely be returning to Spring Hill Elite in the near future.
The owner and his services provided are really great, i have been to fields all over the us and 1 in brazil and i must say Mr. V runs a pretty tight ship. His fields do need a little bit of help, but does have a nice clean psp xball field with a snake that you can nicely slide into. Paint prices are very reasonable, i opted to purchase a case of the dxs triumpth, it was great shooting paint for 35 bucks we put it through a pmr, marq7 and an eclass orracle and didnt chop anything, but back to the field. 15 bucks if you buy field paint which is very reasonable considering you get all day air. The Ref kept games going even though my friends and I took our sweet time to get rolling. I got the pleasure of playing a few games of airball with mr V's daughter to whom i apologize for reffering to as "the girl" who as well as her team were extremely talented. I would highly recomend this field to anyone looking to have a fun day of paintball without being tormented for their style of play. everyone is super friendly and are willing to help out if you need it.
I played there once, was in the area :-)
(Note: This field is at the time, they suposedly have a new one now)
I play X-Ball, so I didn't do anythings off the airball field. They have a NPPL (Now an X-Ball). It was ok, not my style of play but thats my problem, not theirs. Refs were ok I guess, cant really say anything bad about a kid who watches instead of plays, god bless. The people were nice(ish... but thats another personal thing... lol) and the shop is great. Prices are fair, I paid about $45 for the day (Field, Air, a case of paint) which is what I spend up here.
If your a rookie (D4/Beginner) then this is a good place to practice at. If your any higher then I suggest another field because there arn't (or at least from what I have seen) any upper d3/d2 players.
I give it an 8, im too lazy to go into detail but as fields go it's run the way it should, charges what it should, and they keep people safe. Can't ask for more than that, eh?
I just went yesterday and I could not be happier. I went to this field before it even became a business and when it was still owned by Dr. Dave and a group would play for some Saturday fun. Prices were cheap back then and they still are now. The store manager Mr. V is the most curtious person you will meet. He makes deals with you and sells good paintball guns and etc. He sells 2 rental packages $35 for a tippy 98 + all you need and 500 rounds of good paintballs or $55 for an Ion rental package with 500 rounds. For regular players with their own gear it would only be $15 for all day air and field usage. He also sells you Ion with HPA tank for a reasonable price. The fields they have are hyperball, speedball, airball, and a attack and defend. All 4 are great to play on and personally I like the airball. All the bunker fields have evenly set bunkers and a good amount of them for fair play and great fun. This field is a family owned so you will see alot of them walking around with utmost care and interaction with the players. I will always go to this field when I play since I live very close and I know the people there as well as enjoying time with buddies to the fullest. Highly recommended field.
Oh yeah, the local team plays there too, but don't be intimidated by them, they are nice people who will help you in any way.
Also rules are enforced such as keeping your mask on when in field area (of course) and barrel plug on each time a game ends. I had one of my friends getting yelled at cause he won't listen. Thats just my friend though, he is a bit absent minded sometimes :D.
Beware, Mr. V has a son and daughter and they both kick ass. Last game I bumped up directly to the snake off the break just to get hit on my visor with the daugther's pink paint >:(. Teams were 4vs4 however my team consisted of me (3 years experience) and my 3 best friends (first timers) vs owner's daughter, other guy with an Ion or Epiphany, 1 of my other best friends and a rec baller. My friend Brandon got pissed at me for not picking her, but hey you gotta try out experienced players to become a good player :).
All in all, check this field out, you'll be glad you stopped by for a great day of paintball.
