I have played at Jack Pine Paintball which i think is a much better feild and has MUCH better reffs. I also have played at Paintball Plus and Northside Sports which I also think is much better for speedball.
Wow, ok if your looking for a fun, and fair speedball tournement DO NOT go to this feild. Its not really the field layout, cause that wasnt too bad, but the refs were absolutely horrible. And the captain of Frederic Paintball's team said they have a contract with these refs for the season, so don't be expecting it to change. Let me start out by saying that when the game is over you can go over and argue a call with the head ref, but dont expect him to listen because he never did for me. (and i was trying to be polite!) Next the refs over inflate the bunkers way too much, I think maybe a grand total of 10 paintballs actually broke on the bunkers, the rest bounced in every direction. Also watch out because the refs start the game by saying "Ready, Set, GO!!!" so there is alot of early starts, and false starts. I dont know how im gonna explain this but the refs didnt know how to call a break worth crap. I was standing in the back right, last guy in on my team, someone in the snake shoots me twice in the hopper and of course they broke. I played on knowing how bad the refs were, but i didnt wipe it. Next someone hits me square in the mask and it splatters all over the lens. Now you probably wont believe me on this unless you've played with these refs, but I called a paint check on myself. Two refs came over to my bunker and checked me, I promise I didnt wipe any of the three hits, and I know that the refs saw the big splats, even then they both called me CLEAN!!! (i also promise that i didnt bribe the refs!) I hope you understand how I feel about these refs and the field, if you still dont then just take a look at my sweet username!

Directions to the Field:
Just South of Frederic on State Highway 35 .25 mile from Larsen Dealership. On the left hand side after the right turn. You can see the speedball courses and netting from the highway after the pinetrees which is the woods course.
I cannot say enough about this field, I've had about 7 years paintball experience and I have never been on a course like this one. It has to be the best all-around field in Minnesota and Wisconsin. You have a woods course in pinetrees and you also play in a wide open area with bunkers along the woods course. They have a Castle built for one base and a Log Cabin for a second base, but to make things really interesting the have a base in the middle of the course also. There is a ridge were you can go up and sneak into there side of the base or behind the middle base. Great scenario game field. Enough about the woods now, you just have to come on out and see for yourself. Devin Moats is the owner of Frederic Paintball and is the friendliest owner I've encountered at a paintball course, not to mention the staff, helpers and referees are the friendliest around. I've never been to a course with the whole gang as friendly and helpful as they are. They treat everyone with respect and encourage and give advice-pointers to beginners and others on how to make there game better. Devin has affordable prices on play and paintball, actually it's the cheapest I have paid in the area. I like this course so much I play here just about every weekend for the last 3 months, Sept and Oct last year and May this year. Also I've played first weekend in June and I was just there playing about 4 hours ago. Frederic Paintball field has two Speedball Courses, Sup-Air field with air bunkers and everytime I've played the field setup is different. Also there is a Hyperball field with pallets, barrels, spools and plywood bunkers. And with these two courses right next to each other, sometimes when there's alot of people playing we get to use both courses at the same time. That's really fun. Rules are followed at this course very carefully, they keep it as safe as possible for our paintball experience. They are open every Saturday 12-6 and Sunday 11-5. They also hold a 3 man league on Wednesday nights at 6:30. Pro Shop is located at Ray's Firestone Yamaha 1.25 miles north of the field on the right, open M-F 9-5 Sat 8-3. Frederic Paintball is a perfect course for first time players and group get togethers. The have rental guns and Air tanks. So you don't need equipment if you don't have it. Just show up and you can play. I highly recommend this course to play on. It's perfect for an all around paintball player like me.
