Top Guns awsome. The fileds are really nice and kept up to par. The speedball field was nice when i played in a tourney trhere, and the staff are briliant. Just the price is what throws me off. $80 a case?!?! Thats a tad overpriced and its online for like $30 so there really trying to rip off people. If they lowered thier prices they would be the dominant paintball field in NJ.
I've played paintball here and there, but Top Gun was probably the best. The staff gave us a gun and a lot of extra paint for the amount of people we had and the fields were well groomed and had a lot of variety.
I guess I can be considered a paintball noob, but I do know what I like. They had like 11 large fields and a smaller speedball area for when we were running out of people with paint towards the end of the day. The fields all had a lot of stuff to hide behind and even more room to just run if you felt like suiciding for the flag.
I've played at other places that nickle and dime you for everything, have junk all over the field, and the refs just dont pay attention and will be extremely nasty. This was not the case at Top Gun.
The only thing I didnt like about it is you had to buy their paint. It would get a 10 otherwise.
This is a very nice field. It is not wild or extravagent but it serves its purpose. A good paintball field for local players to get together and enjoy. There big games are nice but they do not release the date early enough in advance so the public has time to schedule into there busy lives. I haven't been able to go to the big game for the past 2 years because of that very reason.
- Friendly People
- Newbies (fun to shoot)
- NIce speedball fields
- Easy Setup
- Good ProShop
- Really nice recs fields including the lake
- Expensive (aren't all fields?)
- Small Compared to places like Skirmish (yes it is a pro and a con)
- doesnt release big game date soon enough!!!!!!!!! :(
The service is good and check in is easy. The location is easy to find and has a large food court selection. There are plenty of parking spaces.
They require a full deposit for discounted price. One nice thing is that they will give you “rain-check” if people do not show up or you change your playing date.
These “rain-checks” do not expire, however you can’t use them in private games unless you have 20+ people.
They have very nice & clean rental guns that shoot right. Also they give you options to upgrade to autococker and HPA systems.
Both their CO2 & HPA tanks have gauges to tell you PSI readings. Great plus, if you don’t have your own tank.
One of the cheapest fields to play on & Paint is not way over priced when you buy a case.
They have different quality paint depending on how much you want to spend. Even the average game paint, which is 80.00 per case of 2,000, is great quality that comes in zip-lock bags. (I have not found any dents, soft balls, or damage to balls yet.)
They can fill CO2 tanks quickly.
As I found out, they can AND WILL fill my 5,000 PSI tank fully.
(However many times you have to remind them)
Their compressor is a bit slow when filling 4,000+ PSI; however this is a good thing, because your tank will not heat up as fast; therefore you won’t “Hot Fills” and end up with less pressure after the tank cools down.
2-4 active speedball fields are always active.
Many different woods fields and bunkers in between. Some have natural fallen trees, bunkers, shrubs & bushes.
Fields are medium size and you can almost spot the enemy camp.
When it rains, some parts of the field will become very muddy and hard to cross.
They will make players with their own marker chrono once and many firing stations for practice shooting.
They have many rest stations along the way, and main hubs will have tissues, water, and Windex. There are lots of table space and cubbies to put your stuff. I found out that many people there are honest and will not take your paint, even if you leave it alone. However you should not run the risk, a backpack for storage will solve that problem.
Positives & Negatives:
Some games you will have extended play and will give you hits on when you should move up.
Check In people will rush you along; this can be good & bad.
Staff sometimes treats everyone as newbie and will not go out of their way to help you.
However, I found my 2 refs to be nice and easy to deal with.
All the refs and staff have communication radios so you don’t arrive at a full field.
This field is very good for your games & great to bring new players and cheap games.
Most players spend around 65.00 for the whole day, which is good.
The service and prices are better than Skirmish in PA,
However the fields are not as great.
(Who can beat Skirmish with over 800 acres)
SI Paintball, High Velocity, Skirmish USA, Cousins Paintball
1.Refs were not good...
2.Pro shop stunk
5.Poor Field Condition
Only good thing is that there repair service is cheep and fast
Dont bother going...your money is better spent somewhere else.
Also they rent out nitro with procarbines...which doesnt make sence...but is kind of cool for people with higher level guns and forgot there tank at home or are in transition to a new n2 tank. But thats about it
To begin with, All the fields are the same...but vary distances, and plastic/wood bunkers. Service is good...but they don't have much variaty in stock in terms of the pro shop. The refs enforce safty rules well...but fail to make paint checks in time...and don't hear very well... I called surrender 5 times...and they banned me for 1 game after shotting within 10 feet...which i was upset because we requested bunkering...All in all your better of going to skirmish...a lot more fields...they DONT look and play the same
Fireball Mt, On Target, and some others (just for tourneys though)
Top Gun is one of, if not the best places to go to play paintball regardless of your skill level. For all the newer players, Top Gun has great wooded fields and great reffing that will show you just how fun paintball can be...
For the more experienced players, theres many speedball fields that you can play on, usually with teams scrimming. If you think you're good enough to play with the better players, here's a good place to play against some of the best teams in the local area.
Bill Patterson is the best airsmith ever...enough said in that department
Top Gun is excellent. There are a variety of fields and they are all good. The reffing is good and there are tournaments frequently. You can rent markers, camo suits, etc. There is also a store there to buy paintball stuff. The only thing I thought was kind of bad was that you had to buy their paint. You cannot bring your own. Otherwise this is an excellent field and i recommend that anyone that is in this area to use it.
none i live in new york so i cant get down there much
when i played here it was when i had just started playing and i went with my cousin and my uncle.
The fields were awsome i think some of the best fields i have ever played i loved them
the staff was good they were right on people without masks the only problem i had was the noobs over shooting way too much but they were cool about it and the refs gave you tips about what to do
the idea of renting out bdu's was a good idea and the shooting range was cool
overall it was a very good experience im glad i went it kept me in the sport and i am enjoying my paintball experience everytime i play
