This field is great for beginners. The refs are nice and willing to help u out wit anything just ask. They have the greatest management and the field always changes. For something new. The rentals are decent but its worth the price. The paint is cheap. And McDonald's is right across the road. The field and bunkers get cleaned every once and awhile. Gets slippery but wat are u gonna do. Its paintball in.
siege, bfg, daves(outdoor), crossfire(old dedicated), fwe other private airball fields
Directions to the Field:
eh shouldnt matter
Played a few games of rec ball there, the competition was kinda lacking and the field wasnt very clean. Wasnt horrible sicne it was just recball and i didnt relaly care just trying out a new field. Played a tourney there and wow. One of the teams was sandbagging(playing with over experienced players for that tourney) when told the owners they jsut said that they didnt know them at all so they couldnt do anything about it. Reffign was pretty poor i dont want to flame too badly but if you saw psp chicago refs this was worse than that and we wont even go how bad those refs were. There were a couple decent refs but the tourney seemed very unorganized the games in finals were even post you just had to wait til they called you up to play. Field was very very vey slippery or it was very very sticky. field layout wasnt very good either. For rec ball where if you arent looking to get any better and just feel like screwing around its a 6.5 since its cheap and its a slow field speed and there are alot of inexperienced/lower caliber players. For tourneys it get a generous 2 since the refs werent very good and the field kinda sucked. paint wasnt killer and the entry was pretty cheap but still not really worth it.
Action Territory- good for beginners.. good for like a party or something.
Directions to the Field:
Get off at Ryan Road head east till you get to Hwy 32. Go right a couple miles and then it will be on ur right hand side in a warehouse
i went to Black Rain only couple of times but it is great. they arent to pricey all day air for $10, case of paint for either $45, $55, $65.
The staff and refs r nice and will help u out with almost anything. the proshop could be better they never have anyone down there unless they see you down in there.
The players know what they r doin and will help you if you need help
The field is kinda small but it works they have a nice viewing area over the field ... they change the set up of the field every couple months so its like a "new field". It can b slipery so WATCH YOUR STEP my friend fell twice in like 10 mins but its all good. the chrono is 250 fps but for some tournaments they will bump it up to 260 fps which is bad.
They have like little snacks u can buy and some gatorade, but if you get really hungry there is a Mcdonalds right across the street so get up and walk over grab a bit to eat and get back to paintballin
ill give Black rain a 9 because of the field can get dirty and is slippery but other then that is it great i recommend this field
The Seige - Paint is a lil' pricey but paint is paint.. they never clean their indoor feilds(from what I seen) making gameplay quite taxing when you have to slide on your feet to get to your spot, and in the lower feild, its not really setup for a middle front runner.
Action Territory - Great outdoor pvc feild, nice to run around in the sand for a bit, yet their paint prices are ridiculous, 20 bucks for 500 balls, not to mention that they are rampage balls, go ahead and look up how much they are and you tell me whose getting ripped.
Out back in random woods - Out stan ding, aint nothin' better than shootin' your friends in random woods.
Directions to the Field:
Get off at Ryan road off of I94, go east on Ryan, take Ryan all the way down to hwy 32 go South for a few miles it will be in Racine on your right hand side.
Safety - Even though we go quite often they still orientate us for safety
Field - It gets a little slippery, but I'm sure if you asked the ref will throw some oil absorbent down to sop it up. It's a great feild to get used to the game, it's a sup' air ball field and the coolest thing about it, is you get to watch from above the game field. Myself and a couple of my buddies intend on getting in on the next tourney coming up. It's a great feild for pros as well to, as a matter of fact on Friday when you go they will split up the groups when there are too many in to two. Group 1 is for more experienced competitive players and Group 2 is for the laid back crowd that is just there for gamin' and just shootin' around. My first impression of the place was a little negative with one of the refs attitude that day, but everyone has their bad days. This past Friday night I sat in the dead box...well, on the side after having a mexican stand off from aztec to roll, we shot eachother at the exact same time and called ourselves out accordingly, there was no way to tell who got the first shot off, talked to the ref. The ref seemed pretty cool this time around, this ref seems to be a little wet behind the ears but he still knows what he is talking about and did handle a situation this past Friday pretty well. The other ref that is there is a prick, which makes him a great ref, someone doesn't follow the rules he lays it down. This may sound bad with the wording but, I'd prefer a guy who will yell at someone every game for taking their helmet off before leaving the field than someone who will be soft spoken and only do it once.
Hours - Pretty good, really no reason to have the field open every day of the week, although with a little advertisement and the addition of a feild in back, i'd say that would change a lot, especially in their pockets.
Rules - General rules at every field, the staff won't even take your money if you havn't signed a waiver, good to know people make sure to cover their bases.
Services - They offer everything that any other field offers, pro shop, field, refreshments, bathroom, staging area, mini arcade. Really all you need for a paintball field. Also this should be a big up in everyones book, is that they will fix your gun, yes a paintball feild with people that have experience that can fix your gear. If they can't fix it or if you don't ask, they have no problem loaning you tools to fix your gun, whether its making an adjustment or tightening everything down. They even let me go in back and work on my brother in laws gun when it wasn't working, which was outstanding. Which I didn't catch it but the air hose was on backwards...made me feel stupid but they noticed it. They do charge a minimum of 5 bucks for repairs made to your gun, so if it is extensive they know what they are doing and can prolly handle the fix, more than likely its always a bad gasket.
Proshop - Not really a big one, yet it is a pro shop, I don't think people realize why no one is in the back, one is that the place isn't that big, its not that hard to ask someone at the front desk, as a matter of fact they usually have the area gated off with a sign saying ask front desk for assistance. I'm sure if you've read paintball related news articles in WI you would find out that this feild has been broken in to and that people have stolen from this facility, so if you rib on their pro shop, there is a reason why they don't have everything always open to the public.
Staff - Everyone has always treated me real nice as well as my friends, no problems with anyone their. The people behind the front desk know their stuff when it comes to the guns as well as the refs.
Players - For the most part you have your mix of crabby players as well as the people who are actually enjoying themselves. You're not gonna get away with that anywhere, you will always have the player that complains about absolutely everything.
Facilities - The parkinglot sucks going in and out if you have a car, but I have an SUV so I don't care, I like bajaing every time I go there, it only has one field, but its a decent sized feild that you can watch from above. The people at the front desk are nice, basically the do unto others as they do unto you. They have no issue with addressing someone if they are getting out of hand, which I have witnessed this past week with a punk kid that I even said to him, if he didn't want to get hit he shouldn't have come out to play paintball...
Food - Think they got some candy bars, chips, soda and gatorade. Really doesn't matter anyway, you have a McDonalds right accross the street, so if you need a quick fix just hit the dollar menu there.
Suggestions for improvement - Scrape the field floor maybe once a month, fill in the potholes outside with some dirt or gravel or even the scrapings that you would get from the oil absorbent that is stuck to the floor feild (kill two birds with one stone), advertise more, add a feild (which I've read they are intending on doing so..) Instead of spray bottles in the staging area, if somehow they could get a sink plumbed in to just rinse gear really quick so you don't get paint inside of your bag, change up the feild maybe once every other month
Prices - Great, 10 dollars for a feild fee, even better Friday is half off so its five bucks to game if you have your own gun. Rentals are pretty cheap if you get 200 balls you're lookin' at spending 27 dollars I beleive, that covers gun and 200 balls, generally I only use about 250 for like 6 rounds anyway. I beleive I seen Tippman 98 Customs and Piranas for rentals, pretty durable guns when taken care of properly, and seeing the condition that the guns were in, it looked like the shop takes care of their equipment. When I brought my wife and my buddies fiance with us for a birthday party I beleive it was one of the store owners that came out and gave them chest guards and gloves for free no charge. Go to www.actionterritory.com they charge you like five bucks for chest/neck guards, gloves and camo suit when gaming their. (thats a place I don't recommend based on prices alone) I beleive that this is the cheapest place in WI and I will always recommend Black Rain Paintball to anyone.
Overall - I think this is a great feild for any type of player, especially the player that is looking to get in to paintball, the price is right, the people are nice, I thoroughly enjoy visiting their facility almost every week I'd give the place a 8/10

The Siege- WAY better!!!!!!
Blackrain is a lieing sack of crap!! After the tournament, the lady that worked there said that we could be back at a certain hour and we came back at that time and they were leaving and it was closed so that was crap. The selection is.... well... there is no selection. The place is a dump and theres only one field! overall, i couldve rate this a 0 out of 10
I Started playing here about 5-6 months ago, and at first it was a nice little field that had its ups and downs. They have a real small pro-shop in the back of the shop and nobody is ever there to give you help, I know you could probably ask the people at the front desk but thats not the customers responisbility. The field set up is pretty decent, its a sup airball field. They should probably clean the floor once in a while, i dont think they ever have its so slippery. The bunkers are also always covered in paint, they should wipe them down like every other week. There is never fair teams. rentals vs. high-end guns. I suggest that black rain should have 2 groups an "A" and a "B". Have "A" be experienced and "B" be beginners. Switch off every other game. then its "A" vs other "A" and then next game "B" vs. "B". I think everybody would be more happy.

BFG-expensive not good for begginners good for pros and experienced players.
Black Rain in first appearance is a bad place to play and not great. that's what i thought too. but after i got to know the place it is an awesome place to play. the reason for the buy your own paint is because they have to make some money too. it is a very small business compared to other places around. the staff is friendly and know what they are talking about. if you mess around and make yourself a trouble maker they may not be too nice. the prices are fair and the field is fast. it is a great place for beginners and pros alike. Saturdays are a mix of both players and the black rain team plays and practices on Sunday. For new players i recommend either a private party. I stress private on a closed play day not and OPEN play day because OPEN means everyone plays all the time. (stress last sentence). New players play on a sunday because it is generally slower and is a lot more fun. Overall Black Rain is a 10 out of 10.
anyone that wants unbiased info drop me a message and i'll get back to you

Last night I took both of my boys for the free night, and bought a case of paint. Two of my friends also came, it was my youngest boys' first time out of the backyard. Everything started out just fine, with our group doing well, after a couple games some of the regular kids or maybe some of the Black Rain team players were joining in, young kids 15-16. We all seemed to be having fun, but one of the team players started always complaining about nonexistent hits or bounces. In the next game my friend got bunkered by this kid- shot 3 times in the back, he showed the welts (almost bleeding) to the owner and nothing was said, let me state the field limit is 250fps. . In the next two games both of my sons got shot by him from across the field and it left raised welts, FROM ACROSS THE FIELD!!!! I got shot in the mouthpiece FROM ACROSS THE FIELD-and the spray stung my face. The next game i waited for everyone to get on the field, when the ref asked if we were ready , I stated I would like everyone on the field to chrono, as they keep it on the field, first the ref stated "You are not a ref", I agreed but stated I had the right to ask for a chrono, reluctantly He agreed I had that right. He then told everyone on the field we would chrono, one of the team players started swearing that he already chronoed and did not have to again- the only person that had a problem with checking our chrono, he then stormed off the field. We played the next game and I got shot out right away. After putting my gear on the table, I went to see the owner about the kid who would not chrono his gun, when the game was over to help satisfy me 2 refs and I took the gun out to chrono( they fired 2 shots before the chrono) first shot 309fps, second shot 319fps, and continuous shots were over 310fps. When I returned to inform the owner the kid started running his mouth. I then told the owner they should throw the kid out, as he KNEW his gun was hot by his refusal to test it. A couple minutes later the man owner came out to explain why the kids gun was hot-velocity spikes, but let me note the kid has hpa and an expensive gun, even rentals don't spike that much,-he just put a new regulator on and the velocity creep-ed up, and the reason he didn't want to chrono? because he only had a hopper of balls, what you can't afford to use 3 balls on the chrono, come on don't b.s. me. I then returned the remaining half case of paint and was given my money back. While I was packing up both owners tried to apologize but then started making the same excuses for the kid, I told them they should kick him out, to that they said nothing, maybe he's their kid and is just used to getting away with it, i don't know. I will give the field a 1, its only that high because they gave me my money back. If you must go;watch the kids feeding in and out of the games, and request random chronos when everyone is out on the field. The worst part of this I think is the owner making up excuses for the kid, instead of putting the blame soley where it belonged-on the kid with the hot marker. I've played my first and last game at Black Rain. By the way the other reveiws are right about them playing favorites and pointing people out. I give this field a 1.

Black rain is probally 1 of the best places there is around me and a few friends. It is super cheap to play and for the paint. it probally has the cheapest in wisconsin. on wed. u can play for free 5 to like 9. i would highly recemend this place for players just starting. the players and refs are really nice and help u set ur gun up if u need it and answer ur questions. two more things are they change the field around and they fill ur tanks and it is pretty cheap.
