Great set up had a blast. Think the paint is expensive. Then it's the first game this season so not sure if other fields have raised prices or not.
Still one of the best if not the best place I have played at in years. I like the season pass and know it will get plenty of use.
This is one of the best fields in the area. The tournements that they host there are awesome most of them are 3 and 6 man tournements with xball format. You really need to check this field out they have 1 hyperpipe speedball field and they also have 3 wooded fields
This is THE best field I have ever been to, without a doubt. The first time I came and played paintball, i came here, and I am hooked to this day. The first kill I got was a dead and center hit to the middle of a kids mask that knocked his ass to the ground, I was playing on the hillside at that point and It is by far my favorite corse.
Action Jacks has 4 great fields that r fun any time they got great staff!!!!!!!!!! and i mean great they have good refs and Paint is really cheap compeared to other places i have been to. The best field i would say is the Hill Side field it is great it is like a huge speed ball field with boats, cars, tires, these metal curved things at the bottom of the field, and a big castle in the middle of the field. Than there is the city field that is really fun if u play the egg game This field has 2 diffrent parts that u start off at and were the flag poles are at the bottom of the field there is the woods part of the field that is full of spools, and trees. and the top of the field is the city part it has a lot of castles, and small buildings. than there is the woods ball field that has 2 castles on in the middle of the field and one on the side by the rode than there is a lot of trees and spools. than for the last field there is a speed ball field that is really fun if u r playing 5 on 5! it is all hyper pipe that has a snake, these x things, good 50,stand ups,lay downs, etc. but by far this is the bes place to go paintballing in iowa!!!
Action Jacks is by far the best paintball games place in Iowa. They have active refs(accecpt no refs on speedball course). They are up on safty they make you use a barrel condom/cover. You can buy one there for i think $2. They also have some snacks and water to drink. One of the best thing is the water and towels they have to wipe off your hits. It is very helpful. The paint is about avrg. its $20 or the rec. grade and $22 for the turn. grade. If ya wanna have a fun time play here. They have 3 main fields and a speedball field. They rotate on all the 3 fields. I would have to say that this is the best park in iowa by far! They also let you and your friends be on the same team. Every other field i went to they would never let my friends and i be on the same team. They have really big games its like 25 vrs 25.I REALLY RECOMEND THIS FIELD BEATS THE OTHER FIELDS BY A LONG STREACH!
REALLY NICE!!! The first time i played this field i got 5 guys out! I like it because I like to rush. This field is by far the best for rushers. This field is my favorite. They have alot of bunkers like cars, boats, and tracktor tires. There is also alot of space to run around too. There is a lower side by the way you walk into the safe zone that kinda looks like a speedball field. Very very very nice field.
Nicest woodsball field in Iowa. They have alot of spools to hide behind. Also one thing i hate about the woodsball fields is how the pricklys get everywhere there are about none(still some) on this field. This field is really big too. It has a right and left side that are higher up and then between them is the middle where the flag poles are. BEST WOODSBALL IN IOWA!
This is all my friends favorite field. It has alot of castle looking bunkers on the top of the hill and alot of woods area on the other. The side with the city theam has alot better advantage(they run down hill and can see over some bunkers). Also if ya play the egg game on this field(you usuly do) the best stragty for the city side team is too have one guy (fastest and smallest) drop his gun and dead sprint for the egg. We won so many games doing this. I rate this field 10/10
This speedball course is very nice. The bad thing about it is there are not refs. The paint is alot cheeper though. If ya got a fast gun you should really play it. I played it once and liked it. But the thing i didnt like about it was the refs because is is really easy to wipe and cheet if ya arnt playin a trustworthy team. If ya go to action jacks you should at least play this field once. It is the best speedballfield in iowa.
I went to this field with a birthday party group. When we got there it was better managed than acp and i liked the look of the speedball field. They were nice to us and showed us how to uncock our guns and put on and off our barrel covers and showed us the rules.( others have said they didn't help and didn't reff. maybe they only did for us cause we had a birthday party group and most hadn't gone before, but the public games i saw were reffed.) They have a city, hillside, and woodsball field. I liked the hillside the best, its has lots of cover to hide behind a fort in the middle and a lot of open room also. The city field wasn't my fav. just because i got pinned down in a big for in the middle. They have 4+ forts from what i understood. The woodsball field was good, lots of cover a few forts and such to hide in. You have to go to the top of a hill to get to the staging area from where u come in. You buy your paint like at the staging area and you can even buy drinks and such up there which i like. Another good thing is they have water and papertowels there so no need for a spray bottle. I liked the field and will give it a nine.
Action Jack's paintball games is the best feild in iowa, that i know of so far... The Hillside map is definetly the best, all of the tipped over stuff that you can hide be hind, the forts, its just one hell of a map... the city map would have to be my next favorite, lots of stuff to hide behind, makes for good strategic play.... lemme tell ya a story, i went paintballing a few weeks ago with my neighbors, and some friends, and someone was coming around the corner, i told my friend, we were standing side by side at the moment, and i yelled to him, "HE'S COMING AROUND THE CORNER!!!!!!" so, my friend, being the smart person that he isnt, looks at me and yells back "WHAT?!?!?!?!?" within about 5 seconds, i heard about 10 paintballs go off followed by a loud "F*CK" , so i startred running away, and i heard about 10 more go off, almost instantly, i felt 5 to 6 paintballs ping my back, the situation is pretty hard to get over to this day considering it was the game decider...... the woods map, was ok, but kinda sucked at the same time..... all of the maps make for good strategic play, i especially like the speedball course, very interesting and fun, the staff has POOR involvement... no reffing went on, and no going over the rules.. and im pretty sure the manager stole our paintballs when we were playing.. i really like action jacks though, and u should try it out
WEll, this field was pretty kewl, I like'd the hyper pype set-up, however I found the staff rather lazy, no-one reffe'd the games, and there was no real going over of any rules. Foe those reasons, there were some mask problems, such as retards starting the game with their masks off. The use of bbd's was slim, they made every1 have 1 but they didnt realy make anyone use it. Field itself, I would rate pretty well, like a 7-8 but over all I give it a 5 because of the lack of staff involvement.
Has big playing area, speed ball field nice. Three regular playing fields each with a cool fort. Paintballs are good. If you want to buy something for your gun they let you try it out for free. All & all its a pretty good field. I liked this field because it had awesome hiding spots and a lot of running space. One dislike is that it was really muddy when i went but they can't help that
This is the only field I have played at., it was my first time ever playing paintball.
I live in Des Moines, Iowa. I was invited to a birthday party to play paintball here. I was with about 8 other people at the party. We went on a Saturday at around 1 p.m. to 5p.m The guns that they rented were Tippmann 98's from what I understand. I had no problems with goggles fogging at all. There are three different fields. One is the hill which was my favorite, the other two are called the city which was my second favorite and the woods which i didn't like much. There were other played there and we all played on the same field. There was a blue team and a red team to play on. Some other players there didn't respect some of the noobs with our group. I ran a lot and was very tired when i got home. They have a 20 foot rule where your not supposed to shoot anyone within 20 feet. All in all paintball had to be one of the funnest things I have ever done. I hope to go back again and hopefully purchase a marker offline if i think I will ever get really into it. One other note, you have to use there field paint which is like 20$ for 500 balls.
