Santa Clara Paintball / Fairgrounds Paintball Park
I found this field to be very good, I enjoied it a lot. The rotation was very good, the ref's did a great job keeping the teams even, so everybody had a great time. I recommend if you want to go here, to go in spring if you don't like playing on dirt/rocks. Also it's only downfall is it's lack of shade, if you pick the lucky time when its not very crowded, you have plenty of room under the large tent.
The management was very nice as well, carried on a nice conversation with him, a cool guy. I would recommend you to go here if you are looking for a good afternoon session, or are there with a bunch of friends to have a great time.

tag(ok but expensive)
bear creek (wasn't thrilled about this one)
my own course
PROS: This field is actually quite nice the refs are really cool and everyone is really helpful if you got a problem you can talk to anybody and they will try and help you out. Also they have 4 fields the air ball 2 hyper ball fields and a fire truck field. The nice thing about this place is that they will switch up the position of the bunkers every two weeks except for the hyper ball field that has the large X in the middle that one stays the same. the air ball field is really nice. One of the best things is that it costs $12 to play and only 10 bucks for all day air which is really cheap.
CONS: There are a few points that i don't like with this place is that there is defiantly not enough SHADE. The only problem is they have one canopy that does not house everyone so you can get really wiped from all the sun and heat you get. Also you should bring a lot of water cause there vending machines cost 1.25 and if your frugal like me you will not like that at all. If i could change anything about the fields it would have to be to get some grass i am not a big fan of playing on rock and dirt cause you tear up your knees if you don't have pads.
Other than those few points it is an awesome place to play b/c you will be able to go and play with your skill level. I give it a 9 b/c of the no grass but it is kinda tough and extremely expensive to grow grass out here but i won't hold it against them. Hopefully it will grow during the winter.
I did not like this place at all. they only had 4 fields and they were all fast ball. The air ball field was deflated and thay only allow zap?! Although the refs were awsome and the players were ok, i would probably not go back again unless it was free.
Hit n run (doesnt even compare)
portland paintball ( also not even close)
well, it was great the refs are helpful, the field is a little small but not to bad, the bunkers are great, not very expensive. especially on friday only 20 dollars to play! i had a problem with my gun and the guy filling the nitro took time to totally strip my gun and analyze the problem. i got it fixed and went right back out and kicked @ss. anyway the only problems i had were the ground was a little hard ( not there fault at all) and yesterday when i went and played there co2 fill adaptor was broken and i had to sit out a couple round. but they said if they didnt get a new one soon they would give us refund. all in all i thought it was really great and id give it a 9.5 ( cause you cant dive).
Paintball Jungle - 1st time playing, poorly serviced and reffed
Fairgrounds - Decent hyperball field, great Sup' Air, but a little behind on maintanence and it smelled of horse manure( probably because it used to be stables)
Operation Paintball - my 2nd favorite field, great people, great reffing, great fields but a little small.
Santa Clara Paintball was the best field ive been to. The entire grounds were split up to four feilds, one airball, two hyperball and one "firetruck" field; a large hyperball field with an old firetruck placed in the middle, parallel with the length of the field. Every field was very well set up with intellegent and freindly refs. The airfills were easy to do, and the best part, none of the fields are covered on top, so the sun gets in. The only reccomendations i would give were possibly, to have more benches or staging areas arouond the fields, a little more shade from the sun, and i know its difficult, but grow some grass on the feilds - its a little uncomfortable without kneepads. i give it a 9.5/10

Paintball Jungle: Started playing here and grew to loathe it. Bad refs, bad field, bad prices.
Operation Paintball in Hayward: Good refs, good fields although they are small, and good prices (they always hook us up).
PROS: The fields are split up into 4. All of them were fun although the Airball and one called "the firetruck" field were my personal favorites. Each field was a good size. The refs were great. If at anytime you wanted a paintcheck on an opposing player, you got one. There is a wide range of skill level that come to this field so they do a nice job of splitting everyone up to make sure each person is playing at their own skill level. Beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Each group rotated every 45 mins to the next field so everyone got a chance to play each field. The prices were decent.
CONS: Not much to complain about really, except some grass would have been nicer to play on rather than the rocky dirt, but it really wasn't all bad. They fixed their so called shade problem it seems like. The biggest problem I can think of was that someone moved our bench and reoccupied it when we went to get lunch.
Overall this was great field and a great time. Good staff, good fields, what more could you want?
old Vallejo Fairgrounds(smelled bad)
This place is an A+ field. Everything is great from the refs to the fields to the staff. Everything is great. I just went yesterday and I felt welcome right away. The fields are the perfect size and they split the teams up fairly. theres enough times after each group of games to get back to the staging area and get ready. The airfills are very easy too. If I could make any suggestion it would be to get a little more tables at the staging area. And it would be cool if they could grow grass on the field but that may not be the easiest thing to do. 2 thumbs up .

Operation paintball hayward (5 minutes away from home and its good to play in there in weekends cuz its closes until 12 am. Sunol kind of dirty when i played in there my shoe is full of mud.
the field and ref is awesome. but takes a while to get a game going. they need a bigger shade. when i went in there (summer) i have to sit in my car cuz the shade were full and when i went home i have a crazy headache. i recomend bringing a tent canopy and chair and cold a$s drink , so u can relax waiting for a game. but i have fun though the field is awesome.
they got noobies, intermediete and advanced skill level and it rotates through out the field.
the prices are good too and u can bring your own paintballs.
The CONS are :
they need a bigger shade and i mean humongous shade!!!!!
its very hot when i played in there.
i will give it a 10 cuz i enjoy playing in there.
if the owner of that field is reading this please build a bigger shade!!!!!!!
T.A.G. Paintball (pretty good kinda expensive tho)
this place is awesome the refs rule and the owner is blonde, so shes kinda ditsy but she nice too. this place has an awesome airball field, a hyperball field, a speedball field, and a wierd little field that has a castle in it. the staging area could be a little bigger but other than that this place is totally AWESOME!!!!! the prices are fair paint is normal priced. they split the people who all come into three different groups there is beginner intermediate, and advanced. there is barley any wait between games and they stay on the same field for about 3 or 4 rounds and then switch. the refs keep the teams even and everything. let me say again this place is AWESOME!!!!!
Sherwood Forest - Mostly woods with one field for speedball, I highly recommend this field also
Paintball Jungle - Woods...EXPENSIVE...
Obviously I am a newbie to the sports but my friends who I go with are not.
Santa Clara Paintball became our favorite because first, the staff and refs are great, very helpful, and on top of the game. They chrono before every game, they would assist you if you have equipment trouble, and they leave very little room for cheaters. Actually in all our visits, the players who were there are 90% cool and friendly !!! even the advanced players ! No haters in that field from our experience.
Highly recommended for newbies and pros alike !!!! Kids are welcome too !! Safety is definitely a priority there so as long as you wear proper clothing and protective accessories and follow the safety rules, you will have one heck of a game out there !!
OH ! just one thing though, they do not have a lot of shaded area so if you can, bring a canopy, plenty of cold drinks, and sun block on a hot day.
