I am a referee at pevs and all i have to say is it rules. All the other refs all cool and we try to maximize safety. Food is good/ we can fill all types of tanks/players have to attend a safety briefing to play/play per day is $18(with own gear), $55 with rental and 500 rounds, or $35 with rental and 100 rounds. Also we can do special private groups and birthday parties so email ag paintball for info on those. field limit on chrono is 290 if you have not chronoed your gun you can not play. we are open from 10:30am to 3:30pm in the winter and summer is 9:30am to 4:30pm all the rest of the year
my email is dmb-2@comcast.net if you want to email me about field info |

I've played here three times and intend on going back very soon!
*The Refs are great, they really help with the game, unlike V.A.G., there refs sucked.(thats why V.A.G. isn't in buisness anymore!!!)
*They have a safety briefing like every 30-45 minutes, they only allow you to use barrel bags/condoms, no barrel plugs! Which is good, because the barrel bags are much safer, and have less chance of shooting out of the gun if misfired!
*They have a pretty large staging area!
*The fields Are awesome, great creative setups and lots of cool material to play with.
*The proshop is well kept and you can rent EGOs and Intimidators.
*The rules are standard and are not hard to follow.
*They have a concession/snack stands.
Overall this field is my personal favorite, you always feel welcome here no matter what kind of player you are! ( as long as your not a cheater type). I recommend this field to anyone, so have fun and good luck!

Pevs is great. i like it so much. its the first place i played too. there are so many fields like rock garden, "field number 1"(not kidding), winter woods, dodge city, deep woods 1, deep woods 2, compound (mi favorite), bunker hill, the village(another favorite), and a hyper ball and xball field. these are the fields that ive played at, im pretty sure there arent anymore. the refs are gae (wouldnt let me spell the real word) if u've read the other reviews. basically everythings expensive. if ur goin all day PACK A LUNCH!!! the hot dogs are 2.50, almost enough for a nitro fill for me. i like it there though, cuz i always have a great time unless mi gun breaks down (stupid ions). yea about the refs, they seem to get bored alot and watch the games, but baisically the field is on an honor system. if u call urself out the refs just say "players out let him out" and sit there. the refs are all the same but u can make friends with them and they really help u out if u need it, like i forgot a barrel cover and they just gave me one but i returned it later. the shop is nice, u can buy anything u need there, a gun, a tank, a hopper, and a mask. ok so all in all i really like pevs |

First off I really like PEVS. They care about safety, the refs are fair, kind of expensive but worth it if you like cool fields. But the new one they made (castle) is really corny. they only used pallets for bunkers, and they offer no protection.
the castle is just a rectangle shaped box and they wont let you on the second story.. I was on my stomach behind one of the pallet bunkers and still got hit. and if you are attacking it, there is no cover.
i was there all day and played only seven games 15 minutes each. So out of six and half hours of field time i played only an hour and forty five minutes of play time. and that's if you never got out.
the walk on games are crazy. they just have one massive game with like a hundred people. it just takes to much time to move around with that many people. and time runs out when before there is a winner.
I like pevs but after driving an hour and twenty minutes to get there i would like to play more. When i started playing there it was the coolest place to go but over the years it go to expensive for what they are offering.
If you have a deep wallet and want to have allot of fun go to pevs. Having a private party is the best way to go because you have your pick of field and have right of way. plus you can get more games in. If you want allot of games and free air all day go to taneytown and they often have sales on paint. But they only have two woods fields.
So take your pick ups and downs for both of them but you will have allot of fun. | Last edited on Saturday, November 18th, 2006 at 7:12 pm PST |

First i must say i LOVE this field. I have been going to pevs @ ag for along time and i must say it is the best paintball park for everyone. The walk-ons woodsball is set up great the refs may take a long time to get set and start a new round but that is a small price to pay when they have such great fields. My personal favorite is CASTLE it is quite possibly the best course ever made. The people at the front desk are very nice and helpful, i know this because i once had a problem with my spring and one of the refs sent me to the store and the guy behind the counter took out my spring and fixed it, all i had to say is that there is something wrong with my gun. The paint that they sell there is OUTRAGEOUS, it costs 60 bucks to buy their cheapest paint. So definatly BYOP |

To whomever,
I am new at paintball and one of my six kids says he wants to try it. Well my wife and 2 of my kids head down to pevs in rockville and we buy guns, 2- ions, 2 -98 tippmans.
We are going on our 5th week of paintball in row. We love it !! We decide to try a pevs field for the first time.(LEESBURG).pevs ag.
This place is packed. This could be fun. Well it was not fun!!
First the prices are higher then most other fields. They say there 20 fields here, i wouldn't know, i only saw 4.
30 on 30 sounds like fun but when you have only 4 refs its a disaster! and 2 of them were always in the neutral zone talking. I saw personally so many people wipe there clothes after they got hit, and they got away with it too. Also, i notice one of the refs from our first 2 games ,was playing now. I bring this up because i got shot early in on of the games and this ref who is now playing was running up behind my team and clearly got shot with his 2 team mates. But the ref who was now playing saw it different he called my team mate out and the real ref agreed. Now how is this fair the ref playing makes the calls too!!!
The teams were also very uneven. they were so uneven that people complained. Here comes the owner to give the refs a thrashing. COOL!! Now let me remind you we are new at this , my wife and i have Ions and 2 of my kids have tippmans 98.
So the solution to the uneven teams was this. Beginers on this field and experience players on that field. Well i dont want to play with the beginers i want to get better. so my wife and 2 kids go play with the beginers (I must say that my kids played very well, but it was a painful day for them. ages 11 and 14)
BUT WAIT !! They tell my wife that she cant play with OUR kids cause she has an ION.
Sorry to say she is worse then my kids. They said she must play with the better players or dont play. WE LEFT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They need more refs , experinced refs. refs that dont play in the game the same day and make there own calls.
OH i did bring 4 cousins with me too, they told me never to ask them to play again!!
Also , i do recommend the pevs store in rockville, really nice people and very informative!!

Ok check it out. so everytime i play there. refs don't change. its ridiculous. session is way too short of playing time. i like to get there at 10. immediately play. play all day till sun sets or wen field closes. (total is all day and they also have giant lights for night play) (small place tho, only like 3 fields). refs are slackers. no real care about fair playing. my buddy lit up this one kid. he had a white shirt which was covered with pink in 3 seconds. kid turns around a tree and keeps shooting. my buddy got a bounce off the leg. no break whatsoever. and was called out. retarded call ref. i crept behind the other team, saw about 5 of em. and 3 refs grouped together, walking around, talking. i lit the team up. refs walked in the rope of paint and started complaining that i was shooting at them. get out of the way. idiots.
other than that. the fields are amazing. prices are really high. not enough playing time. too much talking and walking around. inexperienced, underage, unschooled, refs. need some ref training camp. proshop was decent, they did the most they can to help fix a minor leak. just needed some teflon. didn't buy all day air. but one of the fill trucks never bothered to check so i filled all i wanted. |

Pevs is an awsome feild I play in the tournaments at Pevs but I have played on their woods feilds and they are the best in the area the staff is the best around and no other feild can compair the experiance that is at Pevs and their playing feilds. The tournamnt feilds are great. Prices are standerd. The reffs are great and do their best for everyone. The proshop has everything that is needed for a day of play. |

This is the most popular field in the area, but try Hogback, Check-it, and Pevs other fields. I hear they are building a new one off rt. 50, west of Chantilly. |

This field was great years ago when the judges we well trained and honest. Over the past ten years I have seen the field grow in popularity but decrease drastically in sportsmanship. When I played this past weekend, the walk-on group was 100+ with only 4 judges on the field (the other 2-3 were talking on the sideline). Because of this, many players manage to slip by the chrono and are shooting at 320+ fps, enough for a visible kickback at 100 yds. As many of us know, this not only causes an unnecessary amount of pain and bruising, but also gives these players an unfair advantage in range. The field has done away with a minimal firing distance, allowing overly competitive players to 'bunker' the first timers. This past weekend I watched a player over shoot a twelve year old from two feet, just after he was thrown out of the previous game for firing hot. I walked away with 22 bleeding bruises this day, and in my ten years of experience I have never had a shot instantly leave a wound so dark without breaking the skin, especially at 100 yds.
The games are typically 15 or 20 min, and the field is open from 10-4. But the judges lack coordination and leadership, resulting in at least a 20 min wait between games. This is if the judge knows what field the group will be playing next. Expect to wait around even longer for the judges to figure out what fields are available to play next, or take leadership action yourself. I like to bring a CB Radio so I know what the judges are talking (laughing) about.
The judges talk to the players often during games, telling them how many players are behind bunkers and whatnot. Dead players will easily get away this too, there is little enforcement of this rule on the field.
As for the fields, they are great, probably the best I have played on in the area. There are just enough bunkers on every field, and a wide variety of cover depending on the field location. Streams, rocks, trees, pallets, and small buildings and towers paint the landscapes as PEVS @ AG.
On this particular day, we arranged for a group of 20 to play walk-ons that morning, since a group game was too expensive. When we arrived, we found that another group of 20 our friends had paid for a field from 1-4. We thought this was a great advantage to play together, but the staff would not accommodate us under any circumstances, even though we had our own equipment/paint/air, signed waivers, and paid our $18 ea. to play (the group price is $35 ea., and including rentals and paint).
The registration staff is delightful and genuine, and the guys in the shop are competent. You may have to search for someone if you need air, or chrono. I talked to the owner Jim at the end of the day about my experiences over the years at his field and my several issues that day. He emphasized that the players were loosing sight on the fun of the sport, but was very defensive about his judges and suggested that I should have talked to him several hours prior and not the judges if I had an issue with something on the field.
During the summer the field opens on some weekdays, I would suggest playing then or late on a Sunday to avoid the ignorant judges and get your moneys worth. I'll spend somewhere around $60+ for a day of paintball including air, paint, and lunch. At 10 games a day, I would be better off playing lazer tag, I certainly wouldn't have to wait as much; maybe then I’d have time left to do some laundry.

Ive played power line paintball in stafford. My cousin owns it and it cant compair to Pevs. Pevs has alot more fields. Powerline olny has about 6 feilds but powerline has a much better staff. |

This feild is awsome. It has a big variety of types of fields. Anything from Rock bunkers to small villages with houses and Trailers to a field with a river and buildings ( one of my personal favorites other than bunker hill). at about 1 o-clock' the refs take you back to the main building where you can have lunch, refill your Air Tank, and just chill until you go back out around 2. The field closes at 4. The staff there is really nice. You can get rent anything you need to paintball there. The main rental gun is the Tippmann pro carbine. You can rent better guns for a higher price of about $35. You can rent Bob -Longs, Angels Auto cockers and some more. they have a small pro shop there where you can buy some equiptment if some of yours breaks. They have tournaments for small prizes that have values up to $2,000. You have to enter the tournements in advanced. You can get the number to call in a reservation off www.pevspaintball.com or you can go to one of there pro shops and regester there. pevs is one of the best paintball fields in Virginia and i definatly recomend it to anyone how wants to get out and have some fun. | Last edited on Wednesday, May 3rd, 2006 at 3:56 pm PST |
