Over all was a pretty good experience. Yesterday was my first time ever playing on a speed-ball field, but from what I could tell was pretty nice. The bunkers had a cool layout, which made for some fun and interesting games. The woods field was ok, again I've never played on a woods "field" before either, I'm more used to thick woods or whatever grows out there by itself. The people there were all pretty cool and friendly.
Field fees weren't to bad $10 to play and $15 for 500 balls. They had some crates and wood boxes to set your stuff on which were ok. I would play there again if my locals players aren't up for a game and I wanna play.
The bad and reasons for getting a 6(the bad stuff):
1. The ref was kinda out of it. Had to yell for him a couple times before he would come to check me or other people I thought I hit.
2. Also needed two refs because there would be a 3 on 3 game going on in the speed ball arena, and the rest of us had to just wait instead of getting another game going on the other field.
3. Woods field was ok, but nothing real special about it. We only played on one woods field even though they claim to have 3.
4. The walk to the field is really annoying, especially because if you need to get a tank filled or get more paintballs because the store is about a quarter mile away.
Mohawk (by Hillsdale High School), Toledo Indoor Paintball
Today was my first time at Splat. I had a pretty good time. I could only see one speedball field from where I went. I played one woods game and after hearing that it was their best woods field by regulars there, I decided not to play any more woods cause I didn't really think it was that good. I liked the one air-ball field that we DID play at though. After moving the starting barell in a little bit so it wasn't a 40-yard dash to the first bunker, the games were really fun. The setup of the bunkers was pretty neat and required strategy to play. We only had one ref for the whole day. He was decent, I guess... but I'm sure they have better refs that weren't there today. I shot a kid from less than 10 feet away, saw the break of blue paint about the size of my palm on his black shirt , he didn't call himself out so I called for a check. After about 5 yells, the ref went to check and somehow didn't see anything. So I shot the kid 3 times in the arm. Poor kid had to bleed, lol. There were assorted crates and wooden boxes etc to put gear on if you didn't want to put it on the ground. That wasn't very convenient but I guess it served the purpose. Other than the ref, the mediocre woods field and the HEAT, it was a pretty cool day. Had some really good competition and some easier competition. Like others said, it seemed to be a wide range of players, experience-wise. Since I've only been to Splat once, I'm not going to rip on any little things that I didn't like because I'm sure some things are different day to day. Overall it was an allright day, but tiring after playing in the heat and carrying everything the quarter-mile there and back. Anyways... Paintball is fun no matter where you play!
I will start off with the pro-shop: Bruce the owner of splat will match anyprice from almost any where. They have a good variety of used and new guns. This store doesn't rip you off like some of them hick stores and sell used equipment as new! The inside of the store looks amazing and has some of the best deals around even beating some of the internet prices. The store is even airconditioned so if you get to hot out at the fields you can just come in and sit down and order a large pizza for like only 5 bucks!! AND IT IS REPAINTED AND CLEAN AND IT ACTUALLY VACCUMED UNLIKE OTHER PAINTBALL STORES WHICH ARE PITHOLES
I have never had a bad experience at this pro-shop
2-air-ball speed ball field (39 bunkers)
( both of these fields dont have them tubes all over the ground so if you trip over them you deflate half of the field)
THESE ARE WOODED:
1- tire field which is made of tires and some screened square cubes and not alot of people know but there is a awesome fox hole bunker with tires around it which is 3 foot deep which is an awesome bunker. (best wooded field ive played on)
1- carnival field which i saw a giant mushroom ,hyperball tubes, and a giant NOME HEAD which is like 8 feet high and it is awesome
1- barrel field- a wooded field with like 50 of those blue barrels
THERE IS GOING TO BE INSTALLED A HYPERBALL FIELD!!!!!!!!
This place is actually clean, safe, and fun and when you are done playin you can cool off in the bumper boat pool because you get drenched from this elephant that sprays out water or enjoy putt putt, batting cages, air conditioned arcade, driving range, play basketball, sand vollyball, rock climing wall, 2 tracks of race cars and walk up to autie ems icecream! I DON"T THINK THERE IS ANY OTHER PLACE AS GOOD AS SPLAT AND ALL YOU HAVE TO PAY IS ABOUT 5-10 BUCKS! Most people blow more money on fast food for lunch! This store is less than two years old .. so come on out and play for really cheap and balls are like 500 kick'n for 13 bucks! they have the best prices around and the best refs which are 16-28 years old
COME ON OUT AND PLAY AT SPLAT...instead of a indoor mulched floor which you slip over or some hicks backyard like mohawk or paintball usa i don't even want to say anything like that becuase that would take all day to cover how crappy that is
Paintball madness- middle of nowhere but good
I have known Bruce the owner for over 3 years. He knows what he is doing and knows how to run a store. His store has almost everything you need.. If he doesnt have it you know he can get it for you fast. I currently ref at splat and love working for him. I have been playing for 3 years and he has helped me get better along the way.
With the addition of another series of bunkers and the future hypertube field this is one heck of a place to play. You do not have to worry about being left out if you are new or if you are more expierienced you dont have to worry about having no competition. There is always a good selectio of players there no matter what type of paintball your into.
The all day air feature with the tanks outside now is a great improvement. No more walking back to the store. Now its all done between games while you wait.

This place is great! Splat's Pro Shop is full of paintball products. Not just the normal stuff, they have tons of extra stuff for all types of markers. If you need something and Splat doesn't have it, they will order it for you and it only takes a couple of days. They also match prices! :) You can't go wrong with Splat's Pro Shop. I've looked around at other local paintball stores, and some of the workers are so mean and they have no idea what they are talking about. Not at Splat though, they treat everyone great.
A+++ For customer service.
SPLATS FIELDS: They have an incredible 10 man air ball field on golf course grass!!!!(38 air bunker set). They have more on the way, including a 40ft snake. There are 3-4 different types of wooded fields, and the have more being built as of right now. They also have a hyper ball field being installed soon! It's going to be a 10man field. (It's going to be HUGE) Splat has some crazy ideas for their new field, it's going to be nuts. I can't wait! Iíve seen the area where itís going to be, and itís right next to the Air ball field and fill station area. Splat's fields are also open Friday, Saturday& Sunday. They will also open the fields up during the week @ no extra charge!! All you need to do is call them a couple of days in advance. Leagues, tournaments, group rates, birthday parties, Splat knows what they are doing. Keep it up Splat Paintball. You have a fan for life.
Yes, it's true; you have to have a ref at all times to play at Splat. (Because of Insurance reasons and safety) Hey guys, this place isn't out in Hillbilly country, it's a professional paintball resort. You can't just leave and run off and play somewhere in the woods. No field should let you do that. That's just not safe. Also for those looking to rent guns at Splat, they have almost brand new Tippmann Pro-Carbines for rentals and they are cleaned once they are done being used. They are an average paintball marker, if you want something nicer; youíre going to have to purchase one.
You have to use Splats Paintballs; you can't go out and by staining paintballs or stale paint from somewhere else. There Paintballs are always fresh and Splat keeps their paintballs in the correct storage temperature at all times. There are some days where Splat will let you bring your own paintballs, but Splat has to check them just incase some people may try to freeze there paintballs. I've been to a lot of fields, and some of them do a good job, but Splat is by far the best. Customer service, refs, prices, fields, & the friendliness (it's a 10 out of 10.)
This place is like Paintball Heaven. If you havenít been there, you should check it out, itís worth it.
paintball madness, chicago fields and private lots
the fields in chicago had no camraderie, and the customer service stunk. the owner of paintball madness was a jerk. he quoted a group of people i went with one price, we all drove an hour to get there, only to have him give us a much different (and higher) price, and he doesnt even have plumbing.
splat usa has prices they stick to if you call them, clean restroom facilities, friendly staff, other things to do at the facility if you are done playing and nearby restaurants for pizza, sandwiches and the like. the fields are fun, both speedball and wooded. if you dont like the wooded fields, then you arent playing aggressively enough or didnt come prepared to play in the woods.
the refs are young, but know what they are doing. markers are chrono'd regularly, and if you ask them to chrono someone else's marker, they do it. no, you cant bring your own paint, but how else should bruce make money? of course theres mud, fool. its an outdoor sport. if you dont like it, dont play. if you dont like the rental markers (which are the nicest rentals ive seen in 13 years) then BUY YOUR OWN MARKER. no one is making you come here, and if you show up and whine the whole time about the field, id rather you go home.
awsome field! always a great time whenever I go! I recommend this field to any new players to the most experienced, they have 2 5 man fields, which are put together for an amazing 10 man field on saturdays. may not have the best woods fields but it more than makes up for them with the flat golf course grassed speed ball fields. they are putting in a hyperball in the next couple of months, the area is already cleared. the Referees are very helpfull and definatly know their stuff. It lets you know that they arent just people that go out and ref games, they know what they are doing and enforce the rules for your safety very well. The proshop has almost anything you would need including lower end guns to the highest end guns. if you need anything else, just order it and it will be in within a week. they have great tournaments also and all have gone on without a hitch. I have to give this a 10!
The field was very well set up. The people at the field and in the Pro shop knew what they were talking about and were experienced. Most of the people there, except some old guy who showed up, yelling at us that our teams guns were too high ( Chronoed at 230, 250 and 280 after the game), were decent people and fun to play with. The refs were very professional and did a great job. I think that overall it is a great field so i think it is a ten.
This place is amazing. The 5 man field is excellent as well as challangin. Threfs are young but very experienced, fair, and nice. The wood fields are not the greatest but they are alright, I guess it depends how you like to play. The proshop is very nice and the and their is a variety of things. The owner Bruce even fixed my trigger pull on my Dragon for free making it AMAZING. The paint is 13 dollars for 500 Kick'n. The field fee is 10 dollars on weekends and 5 dollars on fridays. I've had my best times at this field, like my first bunkering ooooo the memories I cannot wait to go Back I'd give it an A+
I went there today and it was the best time ive ever had playing paintball. I didn't like the woods fields, but after playing at the sup air ball field nothing can compare. There are 2 5 man fields and we played with only 1 setup. The paint was good price and shot great out of my intimidator. They have an excellent proshop with a huge variety of parts and markers. Bruce, the owner, built a totally custom autococker that he calls a Gothic cocker. IT IS AMAZING-custom spiked body, sweet trigger pull, everything possible that could be on it. Contrary to what was said earlier by someone else there are 3 good refs. The golf balls are not a real problem, and the quarter mile walk isn't too bad and soon Bruce will be putting an air fill station out by the field. Bruce even "Made my friend's Dragon Intimidator Amazing" by tricking out the trigger pull. YOU should go there and you will not regret it.
