R&R Paintball, The Ruins Paintball, Woodland Paintball
I have always liked this field, they have some of the best laid out and upkept fields I have ever seen. And while I do agree that there air refills are a little higher than some, there paint is about the same as anywhere else. In response to the 3 guys who got together to trash the field I have to say I have always been very pleased with there service and there reffing. The divide you into teams to try and keep it fair usually and sometimes it doesn't work out that way. I have always been very pleased with there service and the quality of there fields. As to the issue of not allowing you to play with the paint you bought at the big games, you'll notice if you go to the website and look on the big games page that they state that paint from these games cannot be used at any other events. Anyway this is a great field with some great guys, if you go here to play you will have fun, and I have always come away from here with nothing but compliments and memories of a great fun filled day. I would highly recommend them!
The fields were cool! The staff was horrible, the prices steep.
To start off with it is an field paint only, however they wouldn't let a guy that was there w/paint left over from thier big game the previous week use his left over paint, technically their paint!
Air fills were $2.00 for 3000, and $3.50 for 4500, however nobodys gauges ever registered over 3000!
2 refs for 10 players, they didn't seem like they were on the same page, they used walkie talkies on the hyper-ball field and not on the woods fields!
2 beautiful air-ball fields, but you couldn't use them for open play was my understanding.
The refs picked the teams and they never changed, even though the team I was on won 5 of 6 games played, they also wanted to control which field we played on and when.
After talking to some of the other people playing there, I would consider playing their big games and tournies, however I don't think I'll be back for their open play.
Referring to the first sentence, 2 out of 3 ain't good!
The fields are the best i have ever seen. However, the fun ended there. The refs were rookies, and they would not allow a fellow player to use paint that he had purchsed THERE the week before. They list free air with entry on their web page, then charged us after we paid. They advertise 4500 then fill to 3000 and tell me my guage is off. I was not impressed.
R&S has much better refs... and you get your air when you pay to play. I have never played Hole but i believe it is the same there. Long story short, probably will not return unless playing a big game, or next year for MPL.
Excalibur paintball is one of the highest priced places to buy paint or air from.. Me and some of my friends went there today and u cant have all day air that ridiculous paying 3 dollars for fill ups after every other game pretty much. The older reffs are great but we got stuck with some younger inexpierienced reffs that dont know to much. They divide you into two teams which i think is unfair because you should be able to pick ur teams. I met a guy who has been playing at Excalibur for a longgg time and he had a hopper of paint left over from a big game at excalibur and they wouldnt let him use it cause he needed to buy field paint.. but technically it is field paint because he bought it there in the first place.. i dont think its worth the money when you can go to RS and play airball or hyperball for 50 dollars a case and all day air when here u pay 60 dollars a case and bout three dollars for air each time you run out i say just play somewhere else its not worth your money!!!
Excalibur paintball at first glance looks like any other paintball field, until you actually get on the fields. They have everything from a castle (complete with underground tunnel) to a huge and well laid out Hyperball field, and probably the nicest pair of beautiful airball fields. The manicured flat grass is thick and is in no way muddy, and the bunkers look brand new. The netting was hung high and tight and the airball field made for some awesome 7 man and 10 man play. The recball fields were top notch, from tunnels to bridges and castles, to regular woodsball and many many types of themes fields. Big Games and tournaments are run regularly at a reasonable price. They have both CO2 and Compressed Air and the paint is top notch Draxxus, many grades available. If you come out to Excalibur you are in for a great time!
The First impression I got when I went to Excalibur was bad. Maybe it was because of the dirt road or the teeny sign by the road. anyhow, my mind changed sides when I took a look the fields. The Hyperball field was awesome. I also played a few of the other fields. The Fortress was fun, but it was almost impossible to break into with inexperienced players.
The Fields were very well done
The Staff was very friendly. The refs were very nice and good at reffing. When I had a gun problem they helped me out.
I would suggest this over almost any other course in Michigan. The staff is o-so-friendly and the fields are well done.
I have played at every local field and this is by far the best!
If you are looking for outdoor paintball this is your place. If you are a rec player they have nice fields that you will enjoy. If you are a tourney player there team practices always bring out talent. Either way you go you cant go wrong at Excal. Oh and the owner is a really nice guy and will do anything he can to make you feel at home.
Just thought I'd add my two cents. I played here with a big group of my friends (all of us newbies) and absolutely everyone loved it. They have lots of different fields to play on and all of them are super dope. The staff was really helpful and very patient with us, and the field paint was fairly reasonable price. I'm really looking forward to playing there again next summer and would reccomend Excalibur to absolutely anyone.
Everytime I talk with new people that come to play at Excalibur I hear the same thing. "This place is amazing", or "This place has the best fields I have ever seen".
The rolling terrain, variety of fields, freindly staff, knowledgeable techs, experiecned refs and competition make Excalibur the BEST in Michigan. The addition of the new City street and Jungle fortross is going to make Excalibur the top place around the Great Lakes. I have played here since 95 and it gets better every year.
Excalibur is the all around best field in this area it has a very nice woods course with multiple feilds. They also have a Speedball, Hyperball, and Sup' air ball fields which are all nicely set up and fun to play on. They host a lot of tournaments some which I have played in and the reffing is great and I have yet to see a major argument (in the 3 man) in the two years I've played in their tournament. The only downfall is you have to find a different place to play in the winter because they don't have a indoor course.
