There are some people out there who just don't understand, Promised Land is a "Family Fun Park." No where in that three word description does it say, "and if your bored, grab your Angel and mow down some people who don't know to much about paintball." If you have to come out to Promised Land and shoot some 12 year old at his brithday party to feel better about yourself, you don't belong.
Promised Land is a fun, and friendly environment. Although it is very beginner friendly, all experience levels are invited. There is a great mix of people, and as long as your intention isn't wasting everybody with your Intimidator, chances are you'll have a great time. The paint is expensive because a special fader paint is used so their fields still look like a forest, and not the circus. It is a family owned and operated field, so if you cheat, or break the rules, they will come down on you hard. The reason all these people write in and complain is that they are pissed off that they got banned from the field. They couldn't stand not being the best, so they cheated, and got caught. You shouldn't have to bunker someone in a scenario game if you know what your doing.
The bit about not being able to use good guns, is a lie. My whole group have guns from Impulse, to Automag RT, to X-Mag. Yeah, they don't fill Nitro, but so what. Bring your own fill station and get over it.
Overall Promised Land is a great field, that has been the product of a lot of hard work and money. If you don't like it that much, then stay away, it's better without you anyway.
Mostly fields in Michigan... just starting to make the rounds in Illinois.
Review:
This is an excellent site with a variety of field types and terrain. They are a bit predictable in their scenario sequences, but the fields are very well laid out and the construction of walls, huts and ground cover is well done. I had never experienced a game with two teams totalling over 300 players before. It was a blast.
I agree that the size of the teams makes organization and strategy difficult, however, subteams develop and the games are what you make them. This is clearly a family environment and all about fun. It's adequately organized and I've never had any trouble getting my tanks refilled, buying paint or found excessive waiting (even when feeding 320 people at lunch).
Yes, the paint is a bit expensive, but that is how they make their money vs. an high entry fee. The refs are most concerned with safety and rarely need to get involved with enforcing the rules. If you're out, your out.
You will meet all walks of life here and enjoy every minute of it. The owners do a great job of herding the masses and always try to accomodate your needs even when they are very busy. I appreciate the morning prayer and the Christian rock music at the end of the day, but for those that can do without either the atmosphere is family and no one is going to try to save your soul... (even if it needs saving). I have noticed a large mix of regulars and new players each time I have played at Promised Land. Some of the regulars are very serious paintballers and wouldn't return month after month if this wasn't a great place to play. There are plenty of options in Northern Illinois. Promised Land is a 9.9 in my book.
Wow this place sucks……. I have played paintball all over the country and have always found something good to say about every field. But this place just sucks. The refs never even tried to even up teams, splatter kills a guest but members can be blasted all day and never be out. The fields are way to small with poor setups. The cost was unbelievable 90 dollars for a case of old paint you often pay more for paint at the field but please. To sum up this place just sucks find any place else to go, let the kids shot the garbage cans in the back yard but don’t let them go to this place god have mercy on this place it is a rip off, poorly ran paintball sham Kids just say no

personally, i dont like the owners, they cheat, whether playing or not, they will cheat.
they dont filll n2, no speedball, no team jerseys
most of my friends have been kicked out for some reason or another, mostly cause they tried to teach the owners a lesson about not cheating.
the owners wouldnt call out even after being hit several times each and wiping, so my friends flanked them, bunkered them, shot them each about 10 times so they couldnt wipe and got banned from the field.
I dont like the refs much... they are good people, and fun to talk to, but when you need them to paintcheck, or chrono, they dont move at all...
The paint is expensive, but ill live because entrance fee is cheap.
The startup of the day is slow, and theres a long time between each game
They have 12 year olds playing, but they dont put them through some sort of boot camp!
Id drool for a boot camp...
And the strengths:
I love woods ball, and thats all they have there, i dont have to sit through some speedball matches waiting to get to the woods.
They have plenty of seating, but i would like some indoor seating.
The fields rock, and when they open up the badlands AND the ridge together for the hospital match, its to die for *drools* 11 flags!
You meet alot of interesting people there
Theres no excessive swearing, its a good group of people and they have good sportsmanship... from what ive seen, paintball needs a good dose of it
Overall:
I still love this field, and i cant wait till the season starts in april! If you arent some hotshot who fires 20 balls per second with an angel, wearing a blazing jersey with 20 of your teammates, and you just want to play some good wholesome recball with a few friends, then GO HERE!
paintball blitz, paintball daves, badlandz, paintball sams, CPX, fox river paintball, patriot paintball, sc village, tombstone paintball, bah theres more i am forgetting

WOW what can i say here, pinter paintball AKA promised land is by far one of the worst paintball experience i have ever had. i haven't played at this feild in a long time probly 3 years or so. first off lets just say this is the kind of feild where "tourny" players aren't welcome, if you have a n2 tank and a half way decent gun they think your out to kill them. who are they to judge people by what kind of guns they shoot, anyways i am not going to get into that....but as far as the prices go they are kinda crazy, 90 dollars for a case of so called "premium pain". seens how they don't fill up n2 and i only got to play 3 games before i had to call it a day i rate this place a 1. Note: i played at this field years ago and they didn't fill up N2, and they still don't!!!!!!!!!!! get with the game
i have played at action territory and at pepoles houses

I have been at this field probably 10 times and injoy it every month. It is diferent from a normal field they dont fill hpa witch isnt cool but they do have good morals even if you arent christian. They try not to allow teams in so no jersyeys witch can be a pain but it is supposed to be a family inviroment witch is nice i guess people are nice. I havent ever had a problem with the employess there i actauly am freinds with a ref there. The fields are too big to ref so it is on the honor system but most people follow it but if they dont just shoot them till they do lol :-P There are a fare share of n00bs but there are some good players too. Paintballs are expensive but entery is fairly cheap and the fields are awsome.
so i give it an 8 because it is restricted and no hpa and is a lil pricey
I think that promise land paintball is the best field in the northern IL Southern WI area. I've played paintball since the splatmaster days and found most fields are bias towards there frequent players. They get there own set of rules. Promise Land (PL) does no such thing they are completely fair and are safe as can be. The owners are great and I love to play there. I play there an average of once a month. This place rocks if anyone is in the area this place can't be beat. The games are awesome, The fields are awesome and The staff are awesome. I would rate this field the best field I have ever played at and best nation wide. GOOD JOB ALL OF YOU AT PROMISE LAND!!!!!!
I think the people who hate this place or think it sucks are stupid. There are reasons that HPA/ Nitro is not filled. They don't want TEAMS going there to GANG UP ON BEGINNERS. I have Nitro and I just get it filled before i go there. This place is one of the best and i am a member and i am not sayingi it is the "one of the best" just because i am a member. I am saying that cause it is. I don't think they really told that guy "you can't use your A-5 RT" i think you are delusional and I use an AGD RT Pro which shoots way faster than an A-5 and i use it all the time. I think they prefer you using a RT CAUSE THEY WANT YOU TO USE ALL YOUR PAINT SO YOU HAVE TO BUY MORE!!! thus they earn more. LONG LIVE PROMISEDLAND!!!
