Review: The owner Bob is a wonderful owner. Very experienced in the game of paintball and equipment. He greets everyone with respect and is the kind of owner you would expect everywhere!

The indoor arena which we played on was great.. The size of the field is incredible with many bunkers set up amazingly for strategic use..

The community at Hornet's was amazing.. Very competitive but willing to help. After the games players would help each other out and offer their idea's of how to better the other players..

All in all everything about Hornet's Nest has been top of the line. The team and I have found a new home to play for a long time!

Review: I went in to check out the field today for the first time and was greeted very nicely by the staff and taken on a full tour. The indoor field is easily one of the bigger ones that i have seen in the area and its heated! The owner bob is a long time player himself and a very cordial person who is the most knowledgable field owner that I have met. I reccomend going to this field, it is easily worth the trip and has a TON of land with many different fields to play on. Right now they have an insane deal going on as well that is 50 bucks to play which gets you 2000 rds, all day air and entry fee, and for this high of a caliber field that is a steal!

Review: Hornetsnest is by far the best paintball field I've been at. Went with a group of different ages and experience and everyone had a great time. The staff led by Bob are people that play and really enjoy the game the refs we had, DD and Gary were helpful and fun Although if you plan on breaking rules and getting hurt this ain't your place, the are very strict on safety rules esp on goggles and barrel socks. The pricing is very good and they don't rush you at all. When it got really dark we moved into the indoor speedball course and although i usually like woods courses this one was really great. My only problem with the place is that i live to far to go often Also to a city boy like me directions are hard Use a GPS and don't expect your cell phone to work. I would recommend this place anyone i knew even if you have travel to get there.

Review: Several recreational playing co-workers and I toyed with the idea of trying one of Hornetís Nestís 3 vs. 3 Winter Series Tournaments. Having only minimal woods and hyperball experience and never having played in a tournament, I approached Bob, the owner, about the details. The Hornetís Nest is as much about teaching and promoting the sport of paintball as it is about playing. Bob had Shawn, the Field Manager, set us up with a private clinic just 4 days before tournament.

After a safety briefing and chronographing down to 250 fps for the indoor field, Shawn suggested 4 of us go against him for the first scrimmage as a way for him to gage our level of play and to establish his credentials as an Airball Instructor. He gently eliminated all 4 of us in under a minute! Lesson one complete, we moved on.

Shawnís crash course attempted to teach us proper marker technique, snap shooting, communication, basic strategies, bunker use, etc. etc. When we experienced some troubles with our personal low end equipment we were lent HP Air tanks and electronic hoppers at no additional cost. Every round was informally critiqued with lots of friendly constructive criticism. The only harsh and deserved words were for our minor safety violations (lifted mask or forget a barrel sock in the staging area). Three hours later, tired and lightly bruised, we could eliminate Shawn and I believe we might be able to pass for tournament players. However, humbled by our experience and limited by our equipment, we were smart enough to know we need a bit more practice before going up against sponsored teams, we decided to hold off. Maybe the one in February!

It was dark and 9 degrees outside when we left, so we didnít get to see any of the varied outdoor fields, but if they are designed and managed with the quality of the indoor airball facility, Iím sure they are great.

I believe noobs or proballers, families or bachelor partygoers, teens or corporate execs would find Hornetí Nest perfect for a safe paintball experience. We will return. See you there.

This would be the only professional like field that I have played on. I've played in an abandoned factory a few years ago, but can't truly compare the two.
Directions
to the Field:
The directions are pretty straight foward. I did print out directions from mapquest, but truthfully just followed my boyfriend's gps..which worked perfectly. There are quite a bit of twisty back roads and the place is located pretty far out in the woods, which is kind of expected being that there's so much playing fields to choose from.
Review: The rules and safety procedures are important to these people and I'm very glad they enforce them because people are less likely to get seriously injured and have more fun that way. It may seem like a lot of rules that will be a joy killer, but honestly it's a good thing they do that! The prices are pretty good and they let the players come back during the week, so I suggest going early in the week..so you have more days to come back and play. I only played in the indoor arena and if it's really snowy and cold outside, it's a great idea! Even though it's on the small side, it is a lot of fun. The best advice that I can give is that the more people you have the better. When I went with my friends, we had it four on four and that was just enough for it to be fun. I definitly know I will be going back in the Spring or Summer because the outdoor fields look very nice and adventurous! Have fun everybody!!

Review: This was our first time at this field and will not be our last. We always wanted to try this field but its 1 1/2 hours north of us and we have to pass three closer fields to do so. We picked a day in advanced and went up. As it turned out the forecast was for 100% rain that day but we went anyway. This turned out to be one of the best days of paintball we ever played and well worth the drive. The rain was light so we played outside most of the day. The field layouts have something for everybody. They have villages, trenches, a castle and speedball fields to name a few. They also have a great heated indoor field that is set up with village buildings along the walls and air bunkers in the middle. The staff and refs are the best we have seen. These guys are fair, very helpful and so experienced at all types of paintball games. We have our own equipment and could not believe the top notch equipment they were renting out to players with no equipment. This place is paintball at its best for both experienced players and those who never played. We will be back.

Review: I was recently there as part of a bachelor party and had a great time. The owner was more than helpful, especially with the guys not familiar with the paintball experience. We felt like we must have annoyed him with the constant requests to replace helmets and other items but he was calm and friendly.

The fields we played on were great, we played on 5 different courses between the 7 of us as well as against other teams of 8. The staff was great too, keeping an eye on everyone to make sure things remained safe and fun. They even gave individuals tips on how to improve their play, a great touch.

The proshop had just about anything you'd want, I especially loved the grenades (I left one in the woods so watch out). The prices were reasonable and we didn't feel like we were being taken advantage of in any way.

My only issue was the helmets. I wish they were of better quality to prevent fogging, it was a major issue in the dead heat of the afternoon. If you can, there are a few great ones so make sure to try and snag them or bring your own.

Overall, I think any one of us would gladly go back to the Nest.

Review: This was a great field. It was my first time there and they can definatly expect me to come back. By pre-registering, I got to use the Kill House, indoor playing area which is pompletely awesome, the night before the scenario, Spy vs Spy. If you're playing at night, lights turned off with only black ligths going, and a fog machine, the kill house was a great play. Even if the scenario went bad, which it didn't, the Kill House makes it worth it. Hahaha, the fact that we lost the scenario pales in comparison the amount of fun I had. The indoor shop and upstairs viewing area made the day of hot weather with the air conditioning. The indoor store had guns, gun upgrades, clothing, hats, water, ice cream, food. The team I play for, Fire 4 Effect, will definatly be back to help give Bob our business

APE. APE and Hornets Nest were both very nice courses.
Review: Fields: Very nice outdoor and indoor courses. Very well built and very fun to play on. 12 people going at it in a town no bigger than half a city block is defiantly exciting.

Equipment: A very nice selection of guns, upgrades, and pre-owned/made gun kits make the store a very nice opportunity to buy a new gun. The owner, Bob, let me buy a SCAR-H CQC assault rifle set with Red dot sight, front grip, E-trigger and air-thru stock for $550 as where it would cost me $720 in the stores. The paint is a bit more expensive [70$ a case] but you have to stay in business somehow.

Staff: The owner, Bob, is a nicely decorated paintball veteran with a true love for the sport and a desire to make you feel at home on the course. His assistants and staff are all good, funny fellows who share his passion for the game. Most of them work as volunteers!

Location: Although a bit out of the way, it's defiantly worth the trip. Anyone who's driven there has noticed that it feel like you're driving into the middle of scenic nowhere. The setting is very nice and although it may be a long trip for some, as stated before, it's well worth it.

Building: Heated, stocked with food and weaponry, and top-notch fields to boot make it a very nice paintball field, one of the best I've ever seen.

Review: Bob, the owner and operator, and his facilities are very special. Bob is a former policeman and paintball star and he cares about players at his field more than you can imagine if you never played there before. The facilities are first-rate and his store backs up the field operations (even the food is good!). The play is good year-round. We had a tremendous experience a snowy weekend right after New Year's and we're told that outdoor play is excellent as well.
