Black River- Awesome fields!
Coastal- Decent, with bad staff.
PB Central- Best in NC
Gotcha- Bad...just bad.
I liked it here. It was a different setup than I was used to, but it was usable. My team went to a tournament there, and there wasn't a very big turnout. Hailstorm is what makes them a good field. Overall, I would play there again, and they have decent paint prices, and good staff.
This field has 4 speedball fields and 1 woodsball field. One can accommodate a 7 man game. Two other fields can accommodate a 5 man game. The smallest field can accommodate a 3 man game.
The shop is always full of the markers for any liking or budget. You can find PMI, Spyder, WGP, Angel, Smart Parts. The walls are full of accessories for your marker and gear for playing.
McCoys sells Nelson paint exclusively. Prices are extremely low for the area.
If your into rec ball, Saturdays are the best. If your into tournament ball and want to scrimmage, Sunday is the best. If you have time to play, you can play any day except Wednesday when they are closed.
Junior's wife, Teresa, grills hamburgers and hot dogs every weekend for the players. You really should try those Packer hot dogs.
The field is no longer located on Hwy 70. Go to the web site for the new location.

Freedom Paintball ( which is close to be but i will never go to again) My teams own private woodsball course
Great experience I must say, i have my own little woodsball course that about 15 of us play on, I live in Fayetteville NC, and would make this drive just for the staff and freindly environment, prices are great. we stood out since we are woodsball, but all we had to do was ask people to play woodsball and some speedball guys came out with us. i will be back
When I live in Raleigh, I drive to McCoys. When I live in Greenville, I drive to McCoys. When I live anywhere else, I'll probably still drive to McCoys. Why? Because it's worth it. Thanks guys at McCoys.
ps- I think Mantis needs to lose Nick Kannen because he can't bong a beer. In fact, go find a corner nick and stay there.
I first started playing paintball a little over a year agothen got out of it. I recently decided to get back into it and with Mr. Mccoys help I did just that. He answered all of my questions from what type of marker to get down to the pros and cons of running Compressed air as to CO2. He has a very friendly staff that is more than willing to answer any questions that you may have as well as tips to help you in your game. Mr McCoy's prices arevery resonable a case of paint goes for $35 alittle more if you want Anarchy. He also has eveything you could possibly think of from jerseys to JT field shoes, reload pods and belts to aftermarket accessories from Tippman to Angels. He also has 4 fields. 3 speedball courses and a wooded course. For anyone that has ever though about playing paintball or does play this field is where it is at.
Paintball Central in Greensboro (crappy rental guns)
private field that we own
This field is great. The woods course is so much fun and the atmosphere is real cool because no one acta like they're better than anyone, even if they are. Mr.McCoy is the man, we buy all of our paintball stuff from him except for a few things we might order off of the internet..and he definitely has the best prices on paintballs..38 bucks for 2000..and tank refills are only 2 or 3 dollars..hes a very nice guy and the field is usually that busy and he will fix your gun if it breaks and you cant figure out whats wrong..and they have hot dogs and burgers on site so its a great experience overall..i would recommend it to anyone around here!!!
Me and my friends play here every other week. The refs and the owner James are very friendly and helpful. The prices on paint and other items are often cheaper than the internet! I would highly recommend going here if you have a chance.
There are 4 playing areas total. One being in the woods, which is to large for a small group. The others are fun for any size.

None in the same area.
Coastal Paintball in J-ville Nice, but not as much real competition
Milty's Not really fair to compare
Tri-County I think Mr. McCoy used to run this one w/ a partner. It's okay, but not
the safest place.
I only played here once, but at the time there was an open practice session w/ about 5 teams from rookie to amateur there. It was by far the most fun I've had getting my a$$ beat. If you're looking for some place where you can see how you really measure up, this is the place. The prices are great, paint is awesome, and the staff and owner are phenomenal. Mr. McCoy had the gas grill out cooking some REAL food while I was there (if he offers you a pepper, run the heck away!). Airball field was in good shape, the hyper ball field looked okay, though everyone was staging there so we could see the teams practice as we got ready, and the wall-ball field was a blast. He's got nitro fills set up for 4500 and 3000, with the ability to fill multiple bottles at a time. Nice set up all around. I enjoyed it and will definitely be back.
Black River (great staff , prices ,fields)
Action Tagg ( bad ever thing )
I played here once or twice during tourney ..it is a great place to play tourney ..the field are the best at sliding on.. it is like ice ( so you better slide early)... the reffing is good too. I bearin see cheating goin on here ... it is the next best place to go ,but is far away from I live ...
The owner is really nice . I met him about 1 year( when I played at my private field near my house ..)he was at his store ..
one more thing I notices that is the prices on the paint is very cleap. (well on anarchy).
This field is great. Ive only played paintball twice so far but the first time was enough for me to go out and buy a marker! The owner Mr. McCoy is a real friendly guy. His advice is very helpful. He is honest about products and has a good selection at his pro-shop. I will plug his website because he owns both the field and the shop. It is http://www.mccoypaintball.com. At the field there are three speedball courses and one woods course. Being in the military my friends prefer woods but I enjoy both woods and speedball. He has one of those inflatable air-obstacle courses that is a lot of fun, one real low to the ground pipe/tube course and one big obstacle course. The woods course is huge and dense with trails going around it. The only bad thing about the woods is that the bunkers could be made better. But you could do it yourself. Maybe a little plywood and your golden. But no one even plays woods anymore. I think it has gone the way of the dino. The paint selection is kind of limited. While he carries a GREAT name brand (Anarchy, sponsors his team) and a few others I haven't tried, he is still limited to about 5 kinds. His air is Co2, and Nitro and he has very reasonable prices. 2.50 for a small bottle and 3.00 for a large 20oz. 10.00 for all day air and I think that is to include nitro as well. Refs are totally cool and will come out and play a few games with you. If you feel like reffing your own games you are more than welcome to do that or just play without one. Getting to the place is kind of hard and maybe throwing up a few signs along the main road to point the way out would be nice. Netting is up all around the fields so there is no chance of stray balls. I give the man a lot of respect for what he has put together and encourage ANYONE Male or Female any AGE to come and check it out! He is the REAL McCoy.
