Sherwood Forest is easily where I have spent most of my playing career. Everyone is really friendly, and have yet to have a bad expierence. Every weekend I meet new people, and this is where my team started out. Joe is a very good guy, and he hosts some kick a$$ scenario games at his fields...some really super cool stuff. They've got a huge castle, a sweet speedball field, and an airball field sometimes...seriously, if your within two hours you HAVE to come here...
6 months have passed since I wrote the above review, and now Sherwood Forest is one of the few places that remains very low on my list. There is a staff of three, two owners/managers...and one reff. Kinda intresting, don't play here, please, it was great, but a great thing doesn't last forever. Get this, today a reff told me a paintball was "toxic" and he was a graduate of Ohio State in Bio-Chemistry...we asked him why he was reffing and he said his car broke down here and it looked cool...

CPX in Joliet, IL - Great Concept ruined by Brass Eagle
Futureball in Michigan - Very nice field, great woods play.
Review:
I've played two 26 hour scenario games at this field, and it totally rocks. The field is owned by a paintball player so he knows what we want and he makes sure we get it. The castle is awesome, and Joe just keeps adding more to the field. The terrain is fantastic, there's hills, gully's and plenty of natural bunkers. It's located in an old forest so the trees are very big and mature. Trees that have been cleared for various reasons, have been cut up into bunkers. These are big enough for a guy as tall as me (6'6") to hide behind with little difficulty.
Joe the owner makes everyone feel welcome, and the staff is great. $10 field fee, $5 after noon. $80 a case for paint. Great food at great prices. You will not be disappointed when you visit Sherwood Forest!
