Ithaca paintball is very devoted to what they do and how they do it I think that they are one of the fastest growing businesses in NY I say this because their stor used to be a hallway and now they have a nice sized one and they are getting a shooting range in soon. Their course used to be very small but it is growing every week thanks to volunteers that ref and build. Ithaca paintball is one of the best so come check the out sometime it will be worth the money, and it does not even cost that much, its one of the cheapest I been to.
Nothing in the area, but in NJ Paintball Depot and Skirmish
Review:
I might as well start out by saying that I just got back into the sport after a 6 year hiatus, so it's been a while since I've been to a field. This is the second in the time since I've gotten back into the game.
That being said...
This place is great!
Jeff and Ron (the owners) are top notch guys, very friendly, and willing to work with anyone on anything. Reffing staff are all players and know their job really well. Their Speedball field is Sup air and very nice, lots of good games were had there. The woods fields are good sized, lots of cover and bunkers, lots of options for games. They also have a small concession stand, and a shaded (tented) staging area. They are also (or so I'm told) in the process of some nice expansion work.
The people that frequent the field are great as well. They are all very enthusiastic, and very sportsman-like oriented. Lots of comraderie here folks!
And even though they use field paint only, you get quality RP scherer paint, for a pretty decent price. Better than the 100 bucks a case from PB depot, you get Marbs for 85 a case. They are very good about the quality of the paint they use, and they refuse to sell bags with a single broken ball in them.
Field fees are great. 5 bucks with your marker, and 5 bucks for all day air fills. They have both HPA and CO2 fills as well. Marker rental package will run you 28 for the day, including all air, mask, hopper and 150 free rounds of paint. Rental markers are Tippman 98s w/ HPA tanks. Nice setup.
Safety is HUGE here. VERY observant about firing over the chrono, watching people for masks, making sure barrel bags are on the barrel (no plugs allowed here), and they are very good about punishing for these infractions.
New players, I HIGHLY recommend this place. If you happen to go, talk with the refs and owners, they are a great bunch. They will do their utmost to accomodate groups as well, giving you great deals on rentals and paint, etc.
Check them out, you won't regret it.
