Official Paintball (forney)- Loved it!
Fun On The Run- Love Night Ball!
I will go ahead and admit it, I work at DFW Adventure Park, and while I do wish to defend the feild that I have worked so hard at, I will be the first to admit there are some things still lacking at our field.
We have two feilds that still have pallets and spools on them. These fields do play rather well, even though they dont look very good cosmetically, and they may be changed at some point.
We do run two fields that I belive have a decent ammount of trees on them. One is very heavily wooded, but the walk-on players rarely get to play there much because the field is used more for the private groups.
As for the people like me who only play "speedball" type fields, we have two fields now that play awsome. One field is perfectly semetrical from all four corners, with rather low bunkers in the middle making the back player's job more interesting and field movement must be well coordinated. The other is made from spools, and was set up by a pro paintball player (actually the other one was too) and the snake is the greatest bunker on the field.
We will soon have a lighted field (hopefully airball) right up next to our building. We completed the netting and lighting the weekend prior to me writing this review, so it is only a matter of time before we begin using that.
For people who like relaking between games, we have a LARGE building with bathrooms, a climate controlled staging area, a concession stand, a pool table and a ping-pong table. Also, for the people who need more gear, we have a small store at the moment (expansion is on the way) and we can get you most any product that you need.
If you want to buy paint from us, we sell paint ranging from about $65 a case to about $80 a case. The types and varieties of paint that we stock does varry alot. We can always fill nitro tanks to 3000psi, and sometimes more than that.
The reffing may not be the greatest in some ways, but I am very shure that the event mentioned in the prior review is false. We have had NO refferee's fired, and nothing of that sorts has happened within the years that I have been there. The reffing staff, however, is too laid back and they do tend to stand off from the field. I belive they keep the games safe, even if they are not always as fair as they should be. That is something that we have been workign with the referee's about. I am happy to say thought, that we havent really had any major injuries in almost 10 years as a buisness (no one has ever had their eye shot out)
I gave our field an 8 because my unhappieness, still, with the skill of our referee's, the lack of variety in fields, and because players sometimes have to walk a good way to fields. Stick with us though, and I belive you will be pleasently supprised.
If you come out to play, and have any oppinions, suggestions, problems, or otherwise, pleese talk to one of our senior people, and we will always do our best to take care of everything.
Several smaller fields in Western NY and in the Denton area of TX, and in wooded areas (I admit I have played some renegade games, heh) . The experiences i've had at those fields were fairly positive considering that i was with friends. Compared to this one, the reffing was a little better at the others. Alot of improvement needed.
Well, considering these guys just moved, the progress the field has made is quite substantial. Several speedball fields, and hopefully more wooded areas provide a variety of play options.
The overrall field quality was fair. Spools and pallets made up most of the speedball fields and the land was well formed for wooded scenarios. Strategic obstacles made for interesting bunkering moves and tricky situations. Again, there is still room for improvement.
The staff was generally as interested as people working on a weekend could possibly be, and they have very good prices on air fills (I would reccomend bringing your own paintballs however).
On the down side of things, I have had SEVERAL complaints about the reffing. Often times these "kids" would just stand around outside of the field chatting while people wiped paint and the newbs were forced into suicide missions by the "experienced players" (newbs with better gear). I had to get a ref fired once, after he suggested using "something else" ( ill leave it up to your imaginations sickos) as a barrel plug to one of the younger players(about 13 years old) - I was absolutely shocked!
With that aside, there will always be refs who act like jerks, but they always get theirs in the end. Normally they are fine.
I give this field a 7 because there is room for improvement, but it is a great field and I would reccomend it over some of the other fields in the Denton area.
Ps: "you the man if you play with a cocker"
