It's been said many many times before: Warzone is AMAZING. I first played here last year, and I was immediately impressed with all the staff. Nick and his crew are the best in the business. Everyone is super friendly and helpful, and they're always happy to answer your questions.
The staging area is very barebones, but it works perfectly. There's no main structure or anything, just a little hut where you can get rentals, air fills, and paint. There are wire spools that function as tables for your gear, and the chrono/target range is very obvious. Prices are VERY good, with admission and air only costing $20 for a full day, and rentals costing $35. That in itself is an amazing deal, as it gets you admission, rental gear, and 500 paintballs. Paint prices are great too. A bag only costs $15, and though the website lists the price of a case at $55, it's actually $45. It's great quality paint too. The first two times I went it was WPN Weapons Grade paint, but the most recent time I went it was XO Spectrum (I think. Can't remember exactly.) The field is BYOP, which is extremely helpful if you have some paint left over from your last outing. Lunch is either pizza ordered from a local place, or burgers and dogs grilled onsite by Nick himself.
I've never seen a field treat newbies as great as Warzone has. They really want to give people a great impression about the sport of paintball. It's never 10 newbies with rentals versus 10 players with high end guns that just butcher them in a second. Games are always a fair split between the experienced people and the newcomers.
The playing fields themselves are terrific. The speedball field is just a bunch of pallets, spools, and plywood bunkers, but you know what? It's a ton of fun. Games are intense, tons of fun, and I always enjoy speedball inbetween big woodsball games. The woodsball field is absolutely massive. There are several paths that sort of divide the field up, so that smaller areas (such as Hill Fort, Fort Gerbil, the Castle, and Vietnam to name a few areas) can be used for faster games. The forts themselves are made up from barrels, plywood, and the like, but are lots of fun. There's fallen trees, large trees, rocks, etc., all of which can serve as cover. The Castle is awesome for Attack and Defend games.
The refs are great. They get games going fairly quickly, be it on the speedball field or the absolutely massive woodsball field. Attack and Defend games are quite common, with the variant of "Shoot The Pumpkin" (No prizes for guessing what that is) coming up every so often. Capture The Flag is fun, but occasionally breaks down into the teams just camping their forts. I blame the players for that, not the refs.
Overall, Warzone is quite possibly one of the best fields for anyone to play at. Prices are great, people are awesome, and the overall experience is terrific. I always bring my friends here when I want to introduce them to a sport, and never once have they left unsatisfied. Nick, you've done a hell of a job, and have earned many a loyal customer through the awesome experience that is Warzone.

Making this my last day of playing paintball in RI, I always have a blast when i used 2 Ref & I always have a blast when i play. Nick hands down has the best prices in RI, PIP can't come close & PIP has to fix the field lights. I know Halloween Havoc is gonna be big, Jester & his crew are gonna host a great game I know it I can't wait to play. I'm gonna miss playing with every1 after the 25th.
I have been to almost all the fields in mass and RI. BY far warzone is the most fun. No disrespect to the other fields but at warzone You don't feel like someone is in your wallet. At a local field that will remain nameless, they try to rush you in and rush you out. Thier only concern was your cash. NOT AT WARZONE. the paint is cheap( its good quality to boot) entrance is dirt cheap and they want you to stay till closing. I consider warzone to be my home field. The field is always changing so you don't get bored. The spool field is now up and running if you like speedball. The place is killer thats all.
Alright I recently went to Warzone and it was the first time I stepped on a field in over 5 years. I've gotta say they are some of the best people . I was having problems with my marker ( for all you newbies that's what you call a gun ) and Nick and his crew jumped right in to try to help my problem. I say try cause the issue was not just a simple fix it now involves my marker being sent back to the factory for repair. That aside and getting another marker to get on the field with it was great to play pb again.I will be making this my new home for pb and will be down there as often as possible. Thanks again and see you on the field....problem is you probably wont see me til it too late.
I've been playing at this field since I mived to RI in 2003. Nick is a great field manager and his refs run a fun and exciting game. The crowd that shows up to play here is great and doesn't have the super millitant/over agressive component that some fields seem to enjoy. Always a good mix of players from semi-pro to n00bs and a good mix of people from kids, to adults and yes...girls.
The field its self is a rolling multi acre field in light woods and scrub. Various forts and bunkers are spaced through out and the natural trails and bunker layouts make it easy to break the field into sectors for different game types depending on player turnout. There are a fair amout of briars on this field which will catch you if you're not paying attention when you flop down behind a bush but i've never seen any poision ivy or other such disagreeable plants on the field which is good (yes, prior bad experience)
The forts could be a little better constructed and bunker placement a little better but overall an excelent and fun field.
EDIT: Warzone just had their opening day on 3/15 and over 200 people showed up to play. Local teams and shops also participated setting up stands to advertise and sell equipment and such. Nick has made some great additions to the field for this year including converting the "football field" into a giant castle/fort that makes for an awsome attach/defend game.

Started playing here this season with a few of my friends. I was never into speedball but love to play woodsball so I gave this field a try. The field is great, plenty of cover and all types of terrain. Staff are friendly and always choose good game types. Lunch is available everyday for 5 bucks nd admission is only $20 with all day n2. Since theres no other places around here for woodsball this field can't be beat.
I HAVE PLAYED AT FOX4 BUT THEY SEEMED REALLY GEARED TOWARDS SPEEDBALL WHILE THEIR WOODSBALL HAS AN AWESOMW SETUP IT IS POORLY REF'D AND MANAGED. WARZONE OFFERS BOTH AS WELL BUT WOODSBALL PLAY IS WELL THOUGHOUT AND EXECUTED. NO REFS TEXTING DURING THE GAME AT WARZONE. WARZONE IS THE ULTIMATE FOR WOODSBALL!!!!

What can I say! I have been to a few fields and all I find are big ego's. It's a game designed to give you a great time. Nick is the greatest when it comes to customer service. The crew he has helping out are great as well. If you need a half an hour to an hour between games to rest and refill this is not the place for you. Nick and the crew make every effort to get you as much playing time as possible. They also emphasize safety here. The prices are fair and warzone allowsyou to bring your own paint. A lot of places around make you buy field paint at fifty to sixty dollars a case as if that makes their field elite or something. That is one thing that keeps me from even considering playing at other fields as I am just a recreational player. Players range here in experience which turns out to be great. Even on your first visit, if you have a question or need an opinion, everyone who plays or works there makes you feel like family. To sum it all up, I wouldn't drive an hour one way if this place wasn't as good as I am saying. If you are a serious but fun loving woodsballer then you should consider this place home. The only reason I give it a 9 overall is that i wouldn't mind some fort modifications.
In the land of the North Kingstown, the woodsball player reigns supreme.
Sunday August 24th 2008 A.D. marked the arena for a three hour epic battle for “Total Domination” at Warzone paintball in southern Rhode Island. Vigilant planning and complete organization by the Warzone staff provided two teams with nonstop, attack and defend gun fire between 8 forts. The 6 active refs, in constant radio communication, who continuously lapped the 10 acre wooded field, keep the game running smoothly for 180 minutes. For those in attendance it was an exciting day of strategy and team tactics, where communication and experience usually trumped the rapid attack. Ballers between the ages of 14 and 50 threw down side by side, pump next to semi. But at the end of the day, it was the red team that controlled the field. With Total Domination II already in the works (date TBA) those that missed out, have a chance to join in on the action if you missed out, or hone your team skills next time.
People have already been talking today up on the warzone forum and have been quoted as saying today was the “best day I’ve had at warzone by far …. domination was insane”, “good times man very intense all day”. So next time Big Nick hold a big scenario game, get your butt down to Warzone!!!!
