ummm... well there aren't really fields in the area unless you go to Rush but thats out of the way from here. I just play at my friend's woodsball field alot and thats good for us.
Review:
I just went to this field today and i found it to be alot of fun. My neighbors got the arrangements together for everyone to go so i kinda had to stick around with them on the woodsball fields but they were still good.
There are two woodsball fields at the Montgomery field. The first one is for capture the flag and elimination. The field basically starts at the bottom of a hill on both sides and the flag is at the top of the hill. The bunkers are just made out of piled limbs and logs and there are some plywood stand-up things to hide behind as well. This field I'd give a 6 to because the trees for the most part aren't wide enough to take cover behind and they could use a few more bunkers.
The second woodsball field is for a bunker game. Basically there's about a 3 foot circular pit about 30 feet wide and its built up with wood barricades around it for protection. Usually there's 3 or 4 people in the bunker and everyone else, about 8 or 9 is best, try and take over the bunker and usually fail. I give this field a 7 because it needs some more bunkers for the attackers and around the edges of the field there is a sick amount of mud.
Along with the two woodsball fields there are a pipe field and an airball field. The pipe field i'd give a 7.5 to because there is an ample amount of pipes to hide behind and it's pretty well configured in my opinion. The only problem is that if you slide or hit into the medium sized pipes by accident they might fall over.
Finally there is the airball field. Its a 100 x 75 ft. field with a good amount of bunkers to hold a game and be exciting. There are three bunkers on the field that can control the game if you use them well. There's the Big Cheese looking bunker right in the center, the barbell on one side composed of two triangle bunkers and medium cube bunkers on the ends. And on the side opposite the barbell is the snake, which is not very tall but its still great and very effective. I give this field an 8.5 because i think its an awesome airball field and it was alot of fun for me in 3v3 and 4v4. The only problem i had were a couple small mud spots but no one slipped and fell over those except me because my boots had no grip whatsoever, which ended up being really amusing in the end.
Overall I give this field a 7 because i know there are better fields and the mud got kind of annoying to deal with in some spots, but their paint prices are great and their refs did a good job too.
