Well, this was my 1st visit (as a player) and I have to admit, the 2 brothers and their friend managing this site, did an excellent job at every levels. You 1st access the site by boat since this "field" is located on 2 islands on the St-Lawrence river, in Repentigny (a few clicks from Montreal). This being their 1st year, they have been working hard at getting this field ready for customer play. As they are set up now, they have between 5 and 8 different field setups, incl. speedballl (in the works), some milsim with swampland, trenches, towers, various weld layed out obstacles. The game and/or scenario played, determines the field layout and size that will be used.
The also have come up with a very interesting and also very functional method for ref's to monitor gameplay; towers that go to 15-18 feet high are used as miradors by the refs. One uses the tower while another if on the field grounds. This calls for a much better coverage and surveillance all around. I sincerely applaude this concept, it has proven itself to be a faster and more accurate way to cover the game from the ref's perspective.

The installations are new so snack-bar services are somewhat limited bit that is in no way, a factor not to attend. Ssince on our visit we simply packed a cooler with the needed refreshments and off we go.
This being their 1st year, I can without a doubt assure you that they will be around for a while, they are off to a very promising start. Just the location itself, is in many ways very different to most other fields out there.
The staff is 1st rate, we even shared a few games with the owners and some of the ref staff, which just made the games even more entertaining.
Two thumbs up to the "Fou De L'Île" paintball site, owners and staff.
