ABV's field is very nice. the speedball field is about regulation size for X-BALL. their bunkers are X-BALL. there is no rocks, sand, or dirt. it is however a nice grassy field. the paint is very reasonably priced (35-40/ case). unlike some fields that sell the same stuff for 70/case. the ABV Players and staf are really nice. they are willing to help anyone. they try to keep the newbie kids and the better skilled players some what seperated. they newbie kids sometimes do like to mix in with the ABV guys and they do get bunkered, but dont seem to mind, they are just happy to use it as experience. the woodsball field was really nice, it had a castle, but unfortunately was forced to be taken down. that castle is the only thing that made me like woodsball, without it, it isnt the same. cant wait to play with there again.
I only was there for their 1on1 tournament on sep18 it was assume (considering I went home with a new shocker) they run a rely good show. But their shop is not right buy their field. They have air ball and 45 fills included with entry. They know their stuff.
AWESOME field and great people. Different field layouts randomly and professonly done. ABV teams are always there to help out in anyway that they can. Even if it means letting you use their own gun to play. $10 free co2 and compressed air all day. I always have a great time when ever i go to ABV's field. I learn something new every time I go. If you want to play and get better thier place is thier place is the place to go. All different skill levels are there and don't be afraid to ask questions.
BAD: I personally can't think of any off hand but am sure it probably has some faults but nothing to be concerned about in my opinion.
Command Post (woods, so doesn't compare), Rocky's (ABV much better)
Review:
The good: I found the people at ABV to be very helpful and friendly. There was a broad range of experience ranges, though experienced players predominated. Paint and entry were inexpensive, $50 and $10 respectively. CO2/air was free. The woodsball was (virtually) useless. The airball field was very nice; large with an interesting setup.
The bad: An experienced player bunkered and shot a newbie at 1-2' range. Not cool to do to newbs. At least two experienced players were wiping. Safety was very, very lax. I expect newbs to be lax about safety, but in this case it was experienced players: ABV team members. They engaged in a lot of shooting with masks off, shooting outside the fields, etc. In contrast, Element members were markedly more safe in those respects.
Summary: I will return. It was a lot of fun. However, the safety does concern me... Rated 7 for the lack of safety.
The speedball field is about 100 yards long by about 40 yards wide on all grass no dirt or stone or wood chips just nice soft grass. The field it's self is an airball field perfect for some one looking to gain some speedball experience. plus team ABV is very helpful. there is also a nice woodsball field that has been added this year for those who like the woods. but don't take my word for it go for your self . all in all i really like the field....................................................... ...................... they have a web page to see pics of the field abvpaintball.com
