None, other than shooting targets in the back yard.
Directions to the Field:
Other's have given directions. As stated, Biggs Road is where you'll find it.
Valley Paintball is a great place to be. The staff there is very kind and they're all about safety, which is a good thing.
The fields are kept quite well and they're very fun to play on. They have a great price range, $10 for admission with free refills for the time there. The rules are flexible enough to have fun, but strict enough so there's not any problems.
The proshop is very good, and well stocked. The staff is grade A from the time I've been there, the refs are fun to hang around with and they're very considerate. The facilities are very good for a field, and the food there is enough to keep you going for a day (caffine, sugar and salt).
Overall Valley Paintball is a great place and highly recommended! Go there and see for yourself :)
None in the area except the woods behind my house.
Directions to the Field:
From Petawawa - Go towards Pembroke on Petawawa Blvd. Take a right onto Bisenthal Rd. Once you are on Bisenthal just keep going straight, the road will turn into Biggs Rd. Look for the sign for VP on the right and turn into the field location.
Valley is a GREAT field. It is awesome that I can come here instead of going all the way to Ottawa. Safety is the main priority here, they are strict on safety which is a good thing. The fields have lots of variety. They currently have 4 fields. One is an Airball field, one is an alley complete with cars, the third is a speedball field with tires and wooden buildings, the last, biggest and my favorite is the big woodsball field. The field also has a target range with a chrony. The prices are PHENOMENAL. If you have your own gear it only costs $5 dollars to come and play for the day! On top of that the paint is $5 by the 100!! C02/Air is also a great price. Valley is an extremely affordable field to play at. The proshop is priced good and they can order anything you want from the sites they provide. The refs are amazing and very friendly. They are all about safety and will give you the needed information even if you dont ask. Valley is a great field and if you are in the area, even in Ottawa I would definately recommend taking the trip to this field.
Off of Hwy 17 W
Right onto Forest Lea Exit
Left onto Biggs Rd.
Turn at Valley Paintball sign
Safety and fun are the most important things at this field. The staff there is excellent and the pro shop staff is especially helpful and can answer all your questions.
Players that come to the field are of all skill types and its easy to get into a group if you only have a few people with you for the day. Rental equipment is in good, clean working order and the staging areas are safe and spacious.
The different playing fields there are awesome! They have a street with cars and alleys, an inflatable air ball field, giant speedball field with buildings and tire bunkers. The wooded area is large and has a fort in the middle of it!
I think that Valley Paintball is one of the best places to learn and play paintball, and there number one priorty is safety, so any horse play that may injure themselves or another person will not be tolorated. The refs, players and service are great, and will help you out in any way posible, whether your marker isen't working or you just want some playing advice. The proshop has a great variety and whats not there, they'll get.
There is tons of room for parking, a place to sit/eat, there's also a huge wooded area, a tire vilage, an ally, target area and of course the Air feild.
So if you want the true experience, Valley is the place to be.
Safety is number one at this place. Doing anything that is dangerous to yourself or someone else will not be taken lightly. Prices range depending on if you buy a membership at the begging of the year. This is the best way to take advantage of the great prices. The refs, players and service are great. One of the best i have had the pleasure of having. I think the other reviews have said it all this is just a great place to play and grow in the sport of paintball. I know that without the Field and most of all the people in run the Field i would not have the same love and respect for the game that i do today. This place is one of the best i have been to it may not look like much at first, but its sure grows on you fast. I don't think i could call any other Field home
Paintstorm in Ottawa, while all indoor and all year play, I found it really dark and, like most places, on the pricey side.
Black Bear Paintball...basically like going outside in your backyard and playing. Not even sure if this field is even still around.
Directions to the Field:
Just off of Highway 17 near Forrest Lee Road. Complete directions are located at the field's webpage.
Most players feel a certain loyalty and bias to where they grew up playing paintball. Valley Paintball is en excellent place to start in the sport we all love.
The diversity of the playing fields alone is worth the price of admission. They have a large bush field with a wooden fort located in the centre. In addition, there are stategically placed 'natural bunkers' (i.e. log barriers, foxholes, etc.) throughout the course. There is a large village style course with 2 diagonally opposing 'houses' and walled structures that provide ample cover. Crossing the middle of this course is further intensified by a unique water filled trench, adding risk when advancing. There is a street course which is a corridor with cars and vans placed inside for cover as well as alcoves on the side to hide in. The airball field is the newest field and is constantly being reconfigured by the staff and owner to change up the styles of play.
Inside the main building is where the players can purchase paint and rent markers, masks, clothing, ball hauling devices and pretty mich anything you need. There is a canteen inside with refreshments and food as well as a barbeque for lunches and whatnot. The field can hold rentals for up to 30 people and there are onsite CO2 and HPA air fills.
There is a second part to the building holds the pro shop, office and storage. The proshop has stock for pretty much what you would need on the field. Anything else you can be ordered for you for a reasonable price and usually arrives within 10 days depending on stock levels of suppliers.
The rules at this field are enforced very strictly. The refs and owner gave a thorough safety briefing to the players before allowing them to even hold the markers. The goggles on and barrel bags rules were repeated several times to make sure people got the point. There are also many bright signs located around each playing field and staging area to remind the players. The refs themselves are all seasoned players and know and promote the rules of paintball with a strict but fun manner.
The regular players and staff are mostly tournament players and are always willing to give advice and play against people who want to. If you have a problem with your gear, they can hlep you out and if extensive repairs are required then the staff can fix it for a certain, reasonable fee.
Valley Paintball is open on weekends beginning in the Spring and the hours are extended during the summer to encompass the influx of players. As far as outdoor, field paint only fields go, Valley is one of the best around. If you're ever around the Pembroke area and want to have some real fun, check it out!

I've honestly played at every single insured field in the Ottawa area.
Directions to the Field:
There is a new phone number up and the one listed is incorrect. The actual phone number to the field is (613)732-8326
You wont find a more diverse field in the Ottawa/valley area, I guarantee it. Not only does this field have 5 unique playing areas it is also the only one I've been to that actually has a street with cars and vans, yes a street! But not only does it offer something different to all players and skill levels it also has some of the most knowledgeable and friendly staff you'll ever meet. There's nothing these guys cant help you with in any regards.
Well, Ill go down what they have there and a description.
-Can currently rent out up to 30 setups. Ie marker, tank, mask etc
-HPA/Co2 fills available
-drink and snack bar
-Proshop with hundreds of inventory ie upgrades, markers, tanks, hoppers etc
-Sup Air field- Spectator friendly on 3 sides
-Large tire field- Also spectator friendly
-Urban style street- Spectator friendly on one side
-2, 5 acre wooded fields with forts, foxholes, pillboxes and more
-Covered staging area with benches and cleanup gear
-Large parking lot, plenty of space
Target practice shooting gallery
-A line of manikins and other objects to hone your accuracy. Can you shoot the golf ball at 50 ft? There are also chronographs in place there.
CHEAPEST most competitive prices I've seen in Ottawa! I won't say what they are but if you visit their website you can see for yourself. The regular prices are almost the same if not cheaper than what people with memberships receive at other fields! The paint? Right now its NPPL tournament grade (NXL).
Its about an hour 10 minutes away from Ottawa west end right off the Trans Canada (HW17) just past Pembroke, and I mean just past. You can even see the field from the highway! Look for the "Forest Lee" exit on your right and turn left onto Biggs rd. Drive up 5-6 houses and you're there!
I know its a little bit far from the City, but the drive is worth it, and compared to the competitor's prices you WILL save money, allot of money and is an excellent field.
Unfortunately they don't have an indoor facility up... Yet. But from what what I heard an Indoor field will be up an running by 2008-9
If you live in or around the Ottawa area I STRONGLY suggest you check out this field!
You and your wallet won't regret it.
