Review: This was my first time playing at Paint Storms perkins location and I had a blast. It was my first time playing woodsball on an organised field, I had a great day largely due to the fact that it was the Canadian Contingents club day and they provided me with lunch and a great time and I'm now buying a pump because I loved the performance of them so much.
Now for the fields and playing styles.
The first field you might play is a field with a large hill with a bunker on the peak and bridges in the middle for the opposing team to cross, the defending team on this field has a major height advantage. The other team is literally fighting an up-hill battle!
Hamburger hill is a great paintwaster for the end of the day. One team is situated on top of a hill with 5 players (the number of players defending depends on how many there players there are in total) the rest are attacking, now what makes this interesting is that the attackers have unlimited lives, and they just have to walk back to the bottom and start again. But when a defender is hit, he joins the attackers until the last defender is eliminated or until time runs out.
Pit run is a speedball type field with large wooden discs being used for bunkers, along with a few other things, but you can not cross the path running through the middle, so you want to get up to the front of your side, this goes on until everyone is out of paint or air (whichever comes first).
Defend the tower.
Is just what the title says, 5 men are put in the tower (again this number depends on how many players there are are) the rest attack the tower. You start in the fort (which I will talk about later) and can either go up on the walkways against the wall (ideal for snipers) or start moving up towards the bunker, when leaving get your teammates to provide supressive fire to let you get to a bunker because the tower has a commanding view over the whole field. A unique part to this game is the two bombs you can utilise to clear the tower, these are suicide bombs that have to be run up to the wall of the tower and touched against it, this must be done twice to be done successfully, this automatically wins the game.
The fort.
This is a close-quarters field, you start outside and must run through the roughly 6 foot wide door and then either go up on the walkways or make your way through the village. This is where having a semi will pay off. games can be very short or very long. Well-coordinated teams can utilise cover fire from friendly snipers to allow players to move up the field and easily eliminate enimies. The same tactic can be use in reverse where players in the village provide cover for snipers to eliminate enemy snipers.
The rental-registration office sells paint and cold drinks. The refs that day were CanCon guys, they know loads about paintball and are very safety oriented and they don't take crap from people who are messing around and INTENTIONALLY not following the rules, if you accidentally take your mask off before they have performed a plug check they will give you reminders and be helpfull not mean. head to paint storms website for more info: http://www.paintstorm.ca
I had a great day at Paint Storm Perkins and I will defintely be going again soon and many times after.

Review: The time I played, it was a big game. So I played with about 120 people on a 100 acres field. The field was relly nice and clean. There's a big fort that's 2 stories high with a village inside. I played all over the field and it ranged from woodsball to speedball witch I found really cool.

The staff was really helpful and safety preoccupied. The owner was played with us and gave us advice for our game. He was really nice and friendly.

The staging area is 2 large tents with pinic tables and another area with pinic tables. There's also a cabin with a deck were they rent equipement and sell cold soda. The toilets were a port-a-toilet with chemicals in it. Actually it wasnt bad cause it didnt smell.

Personnally I loved this field and I think was really fun to play. I will give it a 10 out of 10.

The only other feild I played that was near Ottawa was Commando games outdoor and indoor feild.
Review: The feild set up at paintstorm was good. The staff however was terrible at the time I went. There was a woman running the show that had absolutely no customer service skills. The guns at the time were tipman carbines which are not very good compared to the piranahs used by most fields today. I have not tried SMT however I intend to soon. I recomend commando games though since they lower the price of paint for regular players. I will not return to paintstorm unless I hear that the woman who was working there at the time has left.

Review: There are other fields in the Ottawa area that should mentioned but i guess the first reviewer hasn't been to them yet or has limited experience. There is also Topaz indoor paintball in Ottawa but its new.

Paintstorm's Carleton field is over 70 miles away from Ottawa but this one is closer and is probably the best outdoor field close to Ottawa - Commando games in embrun might be closer. SMT is about 50 miles away.

There are no other fields in the local area .... If you drive a bit there is SMT, T2, and Commando Games but they are nothing close to the experience of going to Paint Storm.
Review: Paint Storm Perkins has over 6 fields including a village field and speedball field. I played only there last year as no other field around can come close to offering what Paint Storm Perkins has to offer. From a wide variety of fields to play on to an awesome, well trained staff, Paint Storm has it all! I highly recommend Paint Storm to anyone wishing to experience the best fields in the Outaouais & surrounding areas. Dont forget to also check out Paint Storm Carleton Place as well!!
