I would go to any of these before Cheat River
Review: This is the worst paintball experience I have ever had. I attended Cheat River Paintball on a trip with a group of people from my dorm. My dissatisfaction began when I was told that I would be required to pay $60 a case for Stinger paintballs and that there was C02 only no HPA. After forking out for field fee and a case of paint I was lead to the “field” which was simply some skids and a couple of tires thrown in the woods. No effort was made to reduce ground clutter and the softball sized rocks that littered the field were an ankle injury waiting to happen. Upon arriving at the field anyone who brought their own marker was chronographed, but the rental markers were not. After a couple of games I noticed that some people were leaving with some unusually nasty welts. I asked a friend to see his rental marker and put it on the chronograph. It was shooting well over the 300fps cutoff. Upon further inspection nearly every rental marker was shooting hot and the referee’s lacked the tools or skill set to adjust them. A few of my friends and I proceeded to adjust all of the field markers ourselves. It is absolutely amazing to me that this field is still in operation. It is a disgrace to all of the players, manufacturers, and field operators that work to keep this wonderful sport safe and professional. I would not recommend this field to anyone and I will never return.
