Review: PAP has great potential, they could own the market in the Baltimore area. There is sufficient field space for woods, city, speedball, anything a paintballer could desire.
That is just about the only upside.
As for the experience, well that was less than enjoyable. The refs were more concerned with their cell phone and texting and hanging out than providing the service that paintballers pay for. Breaks between every game which included reshuffling the teams for an additional 5 minutes on top of the ten minute break plus a walk to the next field.
Preferential treatment to other groups
The refs were always first off the field.
Overall bad experience, not sure I would have any interest in trying it again.

Review: Great field!
tons of competition
decent refs-depends on who is there
great field to play air ball
great field to play woods ball
this field gets the biggest turn out of any on a week to week basis.
the only negative is the lack of a true air smith if your gun breaks or you have a problem they may try to help but no promises
and for some reason they never have batteries on hand

Review: I've only played paintball once and it was at a friends party. This field however seemed excellent. The players were nice. The refs were really good. There was 2 woodsball fields open at the time(they were working on another one it looked like) and 1 speedball field. We only played the two woodsball fields. There was one with a castle in the center some woods and lots of bunkers. The other one was pretty swampy but it also had a hill on it that was excellent! Did I mention that alot of the players were really nice?! At the end of the day my friends and I were just about out of paint only about 6 of us had any left. I did'nt at least and when I was walking out of what I thought was my last game I was telling my friends i was outta paint when out of the blue one of the players there just gave me his entire hopper of paint! It certainly made my day! Plus during what was my last match it was just me left on my entire team against 5 or 6 others all of them part of some team(they had uniforms on and patches and stuff). I was pinned up against a bunker with the ref like 20 feet behind me and the other team spread out in bunkers in front of me. So, me and one of the guys on the other team are just taking snapshots at each other when suddenly the refs told me to take a shot to the right. So I popped up and pulled a shot, I still have no idea how I hit him but I managed to nail one of the other players right in the face. After that the guy who I was originally shooting at got me in the hand but it was still great! Some of you may say that the ref should'nt have done that but I think he knew I was new(or a noob watever you want) ever since that one time playing paintball I've been addicted. There was only one bad thing. One guy thru out the entire day was whining that his team was shooting him but that was his fault because he kept turning around and shooting in the direction of his own team. Overall I thought it was absolutely awesome!

Most of them - but this is my first scenario at a field. Taneytown beats them all in terms of regular paintball play though
Review: So, I decided to check out a scenario game at a field for the first time. I'm usually a speedballer, or i just woodsball with friends, but this was my first time at a big game like this, so i had some strong expectation and opinions. First the good-

PAP is definitely a great field overall - probably the best in MD. I've played there before on a regular day of paintball and had a good time. Fields are good, prices are cheap for paint, all day air is reasonable...pretty much all you could ask for. I might actually go back to play there, but never, ever, for a scenario game,

So, the bad....

As with most scenario games (i've helped run some small ones at my own field), the downfall is usually organization. Right from the start, things were kind of a mess. We were to be acting out the fall of saigon, but the refs couldnt even agree on where we could start or where we could go at the begin of the game, so the breakout was a cluster****. Some people 'advanced' farther than allowed, others hung back, and we got some conflicting instructions about all that. In addition, the chrono area was actually in the field of play, which could have been easily corrected, but it just added one more headache, as we had groups of 8-10 latecomers just wandering the field shooting their guns over my head.

So - the objectives were pretty clear - we had to blow up some bridges. We did that once...and after that it got confusing. Once we lost some ground, we were pretty much allowed to reinsert anywhere, which pissed the other team off, because we came in behind ground they had already taken. This was just an example of the lack of explaining that went into the game. Another example - i hadnt played at PAP for about 6 years until yesterday...so when someone came running at me yelling surrender rom over 20 feet away, I shot him.... A lot. Apparently, i should have been out, even though i saw him coming, and he had no angle on me. Now, i can live with 'surrender rules'....if someone gets behind me, or has an angle and is close - ill give up, albeit grudgingly - but this bull about charging and yelling surrender has to go - especially from that far away. My main beef was that noone went over the surrender rules pregame - so i actually felt bad shooting the guy (well...a little). Same thing goes for the paint rules - the refs decided to tell us after 2 hours of play that only field paint was allowed, and that nothing else would count when hit. Then they changed their minds again and said anything goes. Like i said - it was a cluster....

So, about the teams themselves, my side got rolled pretty much every game. I wont make excuses for that - we needed to play better, and I could have played better myself. The rules governing medics and 'respawning' were a little vague, and a lot of people took advantage of them by just walking 10 yards away and coming back to play. I know players on my side would walk over to the medics as well and then come back, so it happened both ways. Again, the other team may have just been better - i dont really know, but some attempt at evening things up would have been nice. I have no problem losing, but consistently losing all day kind of stinks. Also, the refs seemed more like tourney refs than scenario refs - screaming at you that you were out from a little piece of paint on your back from 2 hours ago that you hadn't had a chance to wipe off. I understand the logic....but seriously, chill out. I got hit so many times, i couldn't possibly get it all when i respawned - and i just freaking wanted to play

So all that said - i would still go back. I enjoyed the playing itself - the running and the shooting - just not the organization of it all. The guy that ran things obviously cared a lot, and did his best to keep things moving and give everyone their money's worth. I would go back someday just for fun - but probably not for a game like that

Review: First of all very safe the refs were right on top of people who lifted their mask or did not have a cover on their gun when comming off the field. If there was ever a question of someone shooting to hot they would have that person recrono. The only thing I did make note of is that they are still let people use barrel plugs.

Fields: I counted 6 fields but I do not play speed or X ball so I never set foot on those. I played most if the time on the village field and the woods ball field. which are both great with lots of bunkers and houses and the ability to play different strategies. On Sunday we had about 50 walk ons which made for some great games and from about 11 to 5pm we played about 20 games.

Staff: For the most part the staff was great and even to the point of warning some of the younger players about their cussing because of a couple of young kids that were playing. They were also willing to help those couple young first time players so they did not get bunkered over and over again or lit up as soon as they said go which I think will give those new players a better chance to come back and continue playing. The staff does need to pay attention to how they davide up teams sometimes a couple of games one side would be way out gunned.

Prices and Food: First of all they are bring your own balls or buy at the field. Then the walk on with your own stuff is $15 so because I got a case of balls at Dicks for $35 and $15 for walking on I played 6 hours of paintball for 50 bucks. Not much food but I never buy food at a field anyway. Their paintballers not cooks

I thought PAP was great! multiple airball fields you can actually play on. Fairly maintained grass on the airball fields also so sliding was possible without much effort.
Review: had a great time at PAP, refs were fairly good. but the field condition surprised me the most. multiple airball fields up and running, with grass in good condition, apparently they actually regrow the grass from time to time. Staff is fairly laid back but not afraid to get in your face about doing something stupid.

I did not get a chance to play on the woodsball fields so i can not comment on that

fill your own air is convenient and also cuts down on lines for air.

i would totally go back

OA Bowie- Decent woodsball, but honestly I don't like the hyperball fields..I play mostly airball/hyperball though..Good place for practice..FPO but it's cheap..They stink-literally.
Route 40-Never been but I heard it's alright.
Directions
to the Field:
Near Mayberry road or sumthin like that. Not recommended for first time drivers with big SUV's. Roads are a bit tight, and theres a little bridge you cross over before entering and exit the park.
Review: In a nutshell, this park is great! They have nice airball fields([2-3} 3-5 man fields and [2] 7 man fields.), and I think 2 Villages. Really good competition(honestly, I got my faced mowed lol.)

Safety:
Good, but I've seen better. Sometimes there would players w/ out their masks on. 3 out 5 people would go with their masks on unnoticed.

Fields:
I didn't play on the Village/Urban fields, but they looked pretty decent. The airball was great. The bunkers of the 3 man fields were a bit dirty, but they blew the ground with leaf blowers after every 3-5 games to keep people from slipping. The 7 man fields are awesome- much better than the smaller fields.

Hours of OP:
11AM to 5PM. Nice

Prices:
Great. Entry/All day air-$15
Paint-Ranges from $35-$50 per case. $7 for 500 mixed paintballs. The first case my friend bought was a little oily, but they gladly exchanged it for him. They carry brands like DXS, XO, RPS etc.

Rules:
No bunkering, Semi-Auto only and masks on where barrel socks aren't on. However, my buddy knew one of the refs and he allowed us to used ramping and bunkering.

Services:
3 self fill stations up to 4.5k and 1 3k self fill station.

Proshop:
They sell paint and small repair parks i.e. o-rings etc. They also have a small snack shop where you can buy chips and drinks

Staff:
Cool people, but there was one ref off duty who came to play walk ons and was messing around with the n00bs lol. Good refs though.

Players:
Mostly experienced. Great competition as said before. We had a 2 vs 2 on the 3 man field and I got my face mowed lol.

Facilities:
2 Porta-Potties near the back of the parking lots. Pretty clean though.

Food:
Snacks, drinks and last time, they served shaved Italian. Ice. It was nice.

Try out PAP a.k.a. Taneytown. It's a really nice field over all and it's a good place to have a good time. Thanks

Route 40-Fair, well maintained airball, but small field
O.C.-Poor, overpriced, poor fields
ECX-Excellent, great airball and great woods fields. Well maintained.
Directions

from South, take 795 to 140, then make the turn onto mayberry road, then at the end of the road make a right, and it will be on your left in 2 miles.
Review: I have been moderatley impressed with PAP. Their is very good competition, the refs are very good to work with. The walk-ons are well organized. Rick is very easy going. Nasty plays there so sometimes the xball field is taken up, but if you can play them its great competiion. Low life and Black Label also play there often. I've never played the woods fields so I can't say much about them. I've played at PAP about 20 times, and I enjoy playing there. Good prices, plenty of air (air also in the pits of the main xball field). The change some of the airball fields around to some random setups, but usually there is at least 1 xball and a 7-man. Great place for beginners and experienced players.

Review: Our team took part in a tournament at PAP today and were not pleased with the results. First of all, there was no check or balance as to who played in this tournament. San Diego Dynasty could have entered in the beginners division and not been questioned.
Once we got out to look at the fields we realized that little to no thought had gone into the placement of the bunkers. They were clustered in some areas, then there wouldn't be a bunker for 30 yards.
As for the reffing, it was different throughout the fields. Field one had excellent reffing while field three was the exact opposite.
Safety was a major issue. There were people two cars away from us with no masks on shooting trees along the creek bank. The goggles on rule was treated as a joke.

Now for the strong points.
-the price
-the prizes

Overall, unless you are sandbagging like half the other teams in the tournament, don't bother entering.
