TPG-Overall best field, I play all scenario's that run through there.
Tactical-When I want a challenge
Panther-Ain, it's alright
Mission Paintball-Awesome, small, 3 fields all the size of a speed ball field. Super cool staff, all in all great place.
North Shore- It's been a while, I forget.
Review:
Safety-One thing the staff and players alike at ambush do is enforce the well being of all players. Unfortunatly their are a lot of renters who play at ambush who don't understand that they need to keep their mask on and condom off the field
Fields-
City:Favorite field by far, well build and I always enjoy it when people enter the 2 story and get lit up. Favorite field
Moundz-It's really easy just to sit in a pile of grass and shoot people as they run by
Forest-Lots of stinging nettle/thorns, fun field but watch yourself.
I really with they would install a set of lights and the city field so they could run night games. Huge attraction right there.
Prices are alright, I have a membership so paints 5$/100 which is an awesome deal, though I do wish they would have a gun owners day and let people play with their own paint.
Refs-Don't match my personality, which is fine, they're nice and all but the fact most of them seem to smoke constantly and how badly they want to go smoke some kush kinda gets on ones nerves, especially since a lot of younger kids do play...than again, welcome to the real world.
If you plan on making this your home field buy a C02 tank as well for a lot of the time they do not have air available, they are quite slow at bringing down the tanks and/or compressor.
players-lots of renters, I love playing with the inexperiences because it becomes a chance to help new players into the game. After all those of the more experienced players know it can become a second family...if you're into shooting you family...
there are groups of "pro's" who come through who are almost always ready to help and are more than nice enough.
They do take quite a long time between games, it happens.
Decent field for the rec baller, unfortunately I left rec ball alone 3 years ago, still go every week though
You will have 2 types of experiences. If you come from 10am to around 3pm, you will have a fun time with mostly newbies or non professional people.
If you come after 2:30 you will probably run into professionals and they will kick you *** over and over again. Maybe...
The refs are very nice. You may get a more quiet ref or you may get a more chilled ref, but they always put safety first. You have 3 chances. You get kicked out for a day depending on what you did. No exceptions. (Unless you peg the guy in the back 20 seconds after the game is over, then you get kicked out for a year, lol)
The rentals there are normal Proto masks. They are clean and not scratched up bad. Replaced every 3 months. Rentals guns are the Tippman 98 custom, BT-4 Combat, and SP-1. But I've never seen the SP-1 as they claimed they had.
***EDIT***: It costs $25 for the SP-1 rental, it is full auto, 3 burst and semi-auto.
$15 for the rentals gun, mask, free refills and admission. $15 for 100 paintballs or $45 for 500. $160 for 2000. Same prices for every field in the lower mainland. The paint is made out of olive oil and paint, it is completely washable. It's also not really cheap, it won't break from dropping it on the ground, chopping in your gun is also rare. You aren't allowed to bring your own paint. Even the pro's need to buy their own paint, so there is no newbie descrimination here.
Water and pop for $2.
The three fields they have are balanced nicely.
City is a smaller field with lots of boards, tires that make a snake, a big building, two bases at each end, and a random boat plopped near the middle you can hide in. (Killzone in there)
The Moundz is a field with tall grass and pathways going everywhere. It's also a smaller field. I have only gone straight up the middle and to the side closer to the exit, but the other side looks like it has lower grass and is generally used by the guy with the double trigger who blazes through and shoots everyone. Most people think the field sucks. It only sucks when you lose, and also if you're short. I'll put it this way. Think you're fighting the Japanese in high grass. When you poke your head up you will get shot. Random attacks will pop out at any corner, and shooting blindly through the grass may get you a kill. Your only safety is stealth or crawling face down in the dirt.
The final rec field is Forest. It's a big forest (Duh). There are logs and weird formations of wood or roots in the gut of the field. In the middle, there is one big green house. (Don't go in there) On either side there is a green and blue base. On sides are flanking routes. One is dense bush and grass that you can crouch or crawl through. You can kill the entire team from taking this route, as it almost goes to their 20 yard line. If you aren't in shape or you are really tall, your quads will kill you. The other side is a small muddy path. There is a lot of cover, but it is low, you will need to get lower than a crouch to get safe.
There is an X ball field way way way way way back at the end of the road. It's like any basic one. Usually practices on the weekends.
Edit: You can bring YOUR OWN paint to the Speedball practices.

Pros: Friendly staff.
Players of all levels.
Most players are friendly
Diverse fields (forestfield, city (nice layout), moundz)
Field grooming is fairly consistent
Competitive prices
Cons: AIR! sometimes there's no air and have to wait for staff to pick up scubas.
AIR! because they use scuba, they can only fill up to 2000 psi.
Reffing is ok... I'm used to it so I don't complain as other players.
No scenario games as field is too small to accommodate large scale games.
All in all it is great. (9 out of 10).

Safety: Good, but the ref's don't go over too much
Fields: Great! They have 3 fields: The city, which is a great one! the woodsball forest one which is my favourite!! and the one with long grass which personally sucks. Apparently they have a speedball field but I am yet to see it
Prices: Average prices
Rules: Same as all fields
Services: Good
Staff/Refs: All right, they take a LONG time to start the next round though
Players: Great! All from beginners to those who are better
Food: Pop/Water and Chips
Well, I anyways when I first got there I went to the shop to ask some rental questions. They answered pretty good but didn't seem that sure of themselves. Anyways I had to ask to get my "shot speed" measured and their "measuring device" wasn't working so it took atleast 10 minutes just for that but eventually I was on my way playing.
So I started playing and we were split into two teams, pink and green, and we started out with a basic Team Deathmatch. It went pretty well except the other team was shooting at us before the game started and the ref got shot like 5 times by one player. The player wasn't warned because the ref didn't see him. So end of game 1 I was last man standing and I went 2-1 but are team lost.
Next game we simply switched sides. Now their guys had snuck up along the side of the playing area in the bushes. So when are team started we ran out and there we guys like 30ft away from us and we lost 4 guys within 20 seconds of the start of the game. After that I was pinned down for the rest of the game got one guy before getting hit. Are team lost again and no sign of ref during whole game.
Last game we did my team assault other teams base and they can't leave base for counter attack until ref says so. We begin and it just turns into a long range firefight. A bunch of us are hiding behind a building for cover and what happens? Well, somebody takes of their mask to clean it. And where is the ref? No idea. So then I get two guys and game over for our team again. So i was 5-3.
Overall this field was really fun! prices were pretty reasonable seen cheaper but o' well. The field is basically a big oval of forest that has tons of cover and a few sneeky side routes on the edge and a few forts. It was well maintained too.
The pros and cons. -everything not mentioned means its average
Pros.
-field is really fun and well maintained
-offers an upgraded gun rental for $25.00 rather than a simple model 98.
-Staff are pretty helpful and they supply water for a buck each.
Cons.
-Reffing is terrible you hardly ever hear or see the ref (if there is one :\)
-only way of identifying ref is by the lime green mask he wears
-a lot of side routes are really muddy
ok i started playing paintball at ambush's woodsball field. When i started playing there they got to know me and i helped out with refing woodsball. One thing i've noticed with ambush's woodsball field that it get muddy if it rained but it dirt field so i guese its ok. There very safe at ambush if you don't have u barrel sock on you get three chances and on there thrid chance they ask you to leave. The staff at ambusg are very very very nice they gave me pointers how to shoot more acurate and good moves to try. Ok guy you know when ur out playing all day and you get hungry there no food but if your with a group you can send one of them to get food for you. They allways have water on hand at the speedball field and at the woodsball field. The price is kinda expensive at woodsball but if you go down to speed ball it is very cheap and good paint. If this is your first time at ambush they give you a very good safety spech.
Ambush field is very well matened and every thing it a awesome field for a beginer or more eperience the only bad part is there only one field to chose from but other then that gr8 staff and everything.
Going east over the Port Man Bridge, take the second exit (50), hang a quick left than a right onto 160th and follow it all the way down past Fleetwood Park.
Review:
A bunch of us have recently gotten into paintball and have been making rounds at various local fields to see what we like and what we don't. Ambush would be our second trial run (first was Sniperz).
Overall, Ambush was good, unfortunately we didn't think and went on Mother's Day and the games were very limited; there was 9 people active at the most.
The rentals were decently priced, $25 for marker, mask, air, and 100 balls, with $10 an additional 100, $45 for 500. The markers were Tippman 98's, a pleasant surprise - these guns kick ass compared to every other rental I have tried, accurate and didn't jam.
The bushball field was one of the better ones I've seen, but it could be kept a little neater. A lot of branches and roots made accuracy and running a little strained. Overall plenty of bushes, bunkers and covers, with combinations of manmade and natural obstacles.
One thing I didn't like was the reffing, pretty much kids who just said go then walked off the field. The safety speech at the beginning was a little half-assed too, we had two newcomers that I had to lecture a bit more myself.
The speedball looked sweet but we didn't get a chance to check ti out too much because it was closed off for practices.
Overall this place is worth checking out. It only lost points with me due to shoddy reffing and the need for some grooming. ( 7 of 10)

Ambush paintball is a really good field, I only got to play woodsball because I went with people who don't own guns, but their woodsball field is fun.
in the woodsball field there are many obstacles to hide behind, and there is a small building on the ground. the only problem is theres a lot of branches, so its hard to get a clear shot on people.
The staff was friendly, but they didn't give you warnings if you took off your mask in the neutral zone, so safetys better in TPG the refs were nice but they just watched from the neutralzone, oh well, it was fun.
overall I give it a 9/10, I might switch it to 10 once I play speedball though.
Ambush made my first speedball expierence a blast... it was soo much fun. the staff was very friendly. the fields were very nice, but the rookie field could of used newer bunkers.. since they needed refilling after like 5-6 games.. other than taht this field is great... and the prices were crazy good,, 50-90 bucks a case is a great deal.. and 10$ for unlimited co2 and air is a good deal
I like this feild because of the speedball park. The xball and 10 man speedball fields rock. BYOP and $10 entry is awesome. You can just play all day the $10 includes air or c02. You just need your own gear which is cool because anyone cool has their own gun. Its so fun just spending a whole day splaying nothing but speedball there. If if you have a spyder or tippman its still great. Just playing against guys with high end guns bunkering you, you will have the best time of your life.
