Review: Crazy Bills Paintball, situated just outside of Brantford, is truly an amazing place as far as fields go. They have the right formula going to keep the adrenaline pumping in the veins of any player to cross their field.

This budding field started out approximately two years ago and hosted its first big game two weeks ago called Dead Man Rising, the premise of it being a Humans VS Zombies elimination style game. A favorite of any scenario player, with the Humans at the start largely outnumbering the opposing Zombies. But i will get into the layout of that later on.

Lets start this review shall we.

The Field:

Crazy Bills is split between three main fields, with two of them having the ability to be combined for larger scale games as it was during the Dead Man Rising scenario. The three fields are known as:

The Chemical Plant: A collection of oil drums, industrial plastic containers and pallet crates set up for a good size confrontation between two opposing forces, the field could easily provide use for 50-75 players at a time.

The Town: A setup of several small buildings, with numerous wooden bunkers dotting the grass between the buildings. Is an area that can be easily filled with several firefights during the course of a game.

The Forest:This field was made in the middle of a clump of trees, and stepping onto this field brings one back to the roots of paintball, back to the early 80's where forests all over North America had people coming out in droves shooting each other with guns made for marking cattle with paint. An expertly crafted field made by a true player of our sport. Nice and compact, it was easily a favorite of mine even though i only graced its boundaries once during my day there.

There is also a fourth field that was used during the big game, it seems to have been recently constructed, though I was not informed of the official name for it, I have dubbed it Skid Row, as it is a small field made up of small structures and stacks of shipping pallets. If there is an official name, i have been unable to locate it and as soon as i am informed, i will edit this portion of my review. This fourth area served as the spawn point for the Zombie forces during the big game.

NOTE: Mercy Rule is in effect at this field.

The Staging Area:

Crazy Bills houses their office/proshop inside of a redone eighteen wheeler trailer, here they give out their rental packages, as well as manage their paint and pro-shop sales.

Just outside the trailer are two smaller buildings, one that houses their HPA Fill Station and the second which serves as a snack shack. Prices are very reasonable for various snacks and drinks available.

Next to the snack shack in the chrony range, with two chrony stations set up but enough room for about ten people to set up and test their markers before heading onto the field.

The staging area comprises of about ten picnic tables as well as what appeared to be a frame for a shade to be put over about a quarter of the area.

The remainder of the area is open grass, allowing many teams to bring tents and shades to put up for their own areas, also looks as though they would be able to accommodate several vendor booths should they have the need.

Prices, Hours and Rental Packages:

At this time Crazy Bills is a seasonal venue, opening their gates on April 2nd and closing on October 30th. with hours varying between the late spring and early fall and the summer months.

Paint costs $65 a case, at the time i went they were using Menace Paint, went really well through my B5. They also have a BYOP special every day for $25.

Rental Packs cost $20, for that you will get a Tippmann 98C, 48/3000 HPA Tank, mask and hopper, pretty standard rental package. Another good deal they have is if you pay for a case you get a rental kit for free. they also have special group rates which can be found on the site.

The Staff:

Where can i start with how unbelievably awesome the staff at this field are! I myself had an amazing experience with them when i had a small issue with my TPX sidearm being lost during a rather intense firefight. One of the refs noticed that i was looking around on the ground and asked what had happened. after explaining that I was looking for my sidearm he asked that i head back to the office to inform them should someone turn it in, in the meantime he said that he would spread the word to the other refs, and since the one hour break in play was to begin shortly, they would get a few of the staff together and walk the field to see if it could be found.

After returning to the staging area and reporting my missing sidearm to the office, i proceeded out to the field during the break in play to look, two refs and another player spent a good 15-20 minutes out there with me looking for my sidearm. Eventually the marker was located an good 100ft from where i had assumed it had fallen from my holster, and it was returned to me.

The professionalism put forth by the staff was commendable, even the owner came up to me to make sure everything was good with it after hearing that it had been found. The staff alone is one reason that this field needs to be experienced by every player in Ontario if not Canada.

Speaking with the owner during the break, i got the feel for his passion with our sport, and he confirmed my feelings by informing me that "This place isn’t a business, this is a place made by players for the players.” Needless to say, they have done a bloody good job upholding that statement.

The Facility:

Overall the layout was well organized, one great idea was the creation of a mobile fill station set up in the Zombie spawn area, which saved our legs from having to walk back to the Human/Main staging area to fill up on HPA between rounds.

With a few layers of mesh netting around the parking spot, players were given a small haven in the field, where time could be taken to converse with fellow players while they topped up on their tanks and cleaned off their masks.

Parking was easy to find near the start of the game. As was the main office and proshop.

The proshop is a basic shop, stocking batteries, basic podpacks and equipment that can be used on the field, no selection of markers were available. This proshop is more geared for a player who forgot to grab batteries before hitting the field. Even so, you can't play without the basics.

Final Thoughts:

Crazy Bills is an amazing field managed by an amazing staff, a place truly built for a true paintball player. If you live in Southern Ontario, I highly reccomend that you try it out. its great for a seasoned player and for someone trying the sport for the first time. I will certainly be back for more!

Review: Excellant excellant field to play at.

Safety was normal.

The fields were safe, clean, well laid out and different.

The prices were unbelieveably cheap. $25 for byop or $65 for a case wich included you're field fee and unlimited air fills. They dont have a C02 station but because of that they lent 2 of my friends HPA tanks free of charge.

Proshop was very helpful and friendly

The staff were incredible friendly and helpfull wanted to know what we thought of the place and if we could think of any improvements to make.

There was no lunch option. Snacks and drinks were able to be purchased

I will be returning to this field.
After playing here once I don't think I'll be playing at any other field
