The park is great now they just put up their x-ball so its way better. All the fields are great however since the x-ball is the newest it leaves usually both the hype-fields open for practice or games, but other than all this the prices are great the staff if good and friendly once you get to know them all and all the field is awsome.
They just started up Thursday, Friday 'evening' games for summer. 12 bucks to get in. 3-7pm. Most of the fields are decent. Field 5 (I think) a woodsball field was a little ridiculous though. Way to overgrown with brush. The other fields have better lanes and you can actually see to the other side. The Friday crowd was a bit more laid back. With a little democracy in action, you can get a ref to take you to a hyperball or concept ball field. They just got a new X-ball field in which looks really nice. They definitely spent a few bucks on it.
Decent price for admission $12 Thursday and Friday (through the end of August) otherwise $20 bucks on the weekend
$1/1000psi or 3 bucks for a 20oz CO2 fill
Most of the fields were good.
Bring you own paint
Good parking/staging area with shade and benches
Got a new ref that could have been a little more aggressive. Got bonus balled three times (however he was new and was actually running across the field doing paint checks when called upon. Something you usually don't see) Would much rather have had a ref yelling at a player taking a few extra shots at people. I'd expect him to yell at me if I lit someone with a gun clearly over their head.
Had a few little cheaters there. A few were running outside the tape and back in trying to flank people. They were shooting hot or had really really old paintballs. But you can't really hold that against the park.
Get a few more refs that can/will take charge of a game and make it fair for all players and this place would be top notch.

Weekend Warriors- BAD, evil place. It's not a field, it's a trash hole.
Jungle Island- Bigger, they have scenario games, but no airball fields to my knowledge.
Until the Pevs park opens up, I believe that Velocity is the best paintball park in San Diego county.
Prices: $20 for entry with your own gear. Not a bad price, but I haven't been to many otner fields to be able to see how much it varies.
Co2 is $2 for a 9-12 oz, and $3 for a 16-20 oz tank.
Compressed air is either $1 per 1000 psi, or you can buy an aircard with 24000 psi on it for $20. All day air would have been better, but whatever.
Paint prices range from $40 (weapons grade) to $65 (elixer). And you can also bring your own paint, which is nice.
Hours are from 9 AM to 4 PM, and they stop the games on the XBall and NPPL field at 3 PM.
Field: Like I said, there are two airball fields. One is a very nice Xball field (dirt ground, meh), and the other is a decent NPPL. Also dirt ground. Well, all the fields have dirt ground, unless you're at a woodsball field with grass.
There are about 8 woodsball fields.
There are three hyperball fields, a small, 3-man styled one, a large one, and a spool 5 man field. I hate the spools, but everything else is great.
Refs are good. Sometimes can be a bit harsh, but if you kept getting smacked down by paintballs, you would be too.
For food, you can have burgers, tortas, and other stuff I can't think of, at a reasonable price.

this feild is sick. i know the woodland feilds r a bit korny and it sort of is. but its in open woods! WHAT ELSE CAN U EXPECT?! no matter where u go ur goin' paint and air get very expensive. all the feilds are fast and awsome. i love em'.
i give it a 10-10 cuz' its the sickest feild in SD.
it is a good field but it is way to costly for what u get. the biggest persentige of the fields are woodsball. there are 2 hyperball fields, and about 3 speedball fields. the woods fields need a ton of work. there is sticks and other stuff to trip over while running. there is no angels to shoot it is impossible to shoot off break. it is fun if you are new to paintball but is not fun to your wallet. 20$ per person, atleast you can buy your paint some where else like at poway velocity, it is 55 for big ball 65 for premium, and 75 for marbs, they would get more costomers if they would lower the prices, because me my dad and lil bro all play and my dad cant afford to spend 60$ to get in, and then another 70 on paint, and another 20 on air. it is just outragious
Pirates Grove - Ok if you like Woods Ball; Camp Pendleton - Ok if you dont mind refs that dont give a S#!$ and fields that need some major work. Weekend Warrior - Tim, please....lower those damn paint prices man. I started at that filed when I was 13/14. It was cool when pumps were enough. Get with the times man, allow BYOP and charge a little more for field time or something. We already have to drive to B.F.E. to play.
Velocity is the best damn PB park in SD. Period!!! Yea, the lady (Dee Dee..I think) can be a little, well, lets just say, her bark hurts more than her bite. Otherwise Hyper, Hyper 2, and Speedball kick major booty! The group thing can get out of control, but look at the options you have for paintball in SD. None!!!
Fills to almost 5K if the line is short and the tank is full, otherwise 4.5K is standard if your equip. can handle it.
Paint is expensive anywhere you go. What are gonna do about it? At least you can BYOP.
Lines to get signed up can lag, but I use the time to check my gear, load pods/hopper, etc.
I only give it a 9 since I have only played in SD. The fields in LA could be better. I hear the fields in LV, NV are pretty hype as well.
velovity is a great feild i started playing there 2 years ago
is ageat place for novie and advanced the cocept feilds are great
but i cant wait until they wipe out some more of those woodsball
couses and put more hyper ball and air ball feilds coming soon
the refs and stafff air great good prices sometimes gets over crowded
and have to many people playing on one feild by far best feild in san diego
velocity is a good park for the intermediate to advanced player. the only thing i dis like about the park is that they do not have any air ball fields. other then the the field is good as long as u play in advanced because if u don't u will end up playing the forest fields which r boring. Also the repair there is pretty bad. they will do stuff to ur gun that will make it even worse then before. Also don't go in summer cuz it can get rele hot in romana and u will notice people just fainting everywhere.
i give this field a 9 out of ten cause it is rele fun but they need some air ball feilds.
This is a pretty sick field, especially if you play advanced. If you do, all you do is play speedball and hyperball, which are totally sick. They have Hyperball 1 which is a big probably 10 man field with a diamond and spider on the 50 with a variety of other bunkers across the field. Hyperball 2 is a totally sick field, probably the best. Small, yet awesome, especially for small guys. There is an awesome ladder from your 30 to your opponents 30, as well as a snake parallel to it on the opposite side of the field. The speedball is nice too. It sucks to play any other group though because they play woodsball almost the whole time.
The refs are totally chill, except this one chick is kind of strict and weird.....yea.
They also have a little stand that sells the best hot dogs you have ever tasted for a good price. The staging area is really big, with tons of parking, with lots of huge trees to provide shade for the surrounding tables. They pack in a ton of games also, which is a plus. This field is one of the best I've been to.
Ok i personally think that this is probably the best field for your money in san diego. You can bring your own paint and field entry is only 20 bucks. For the paint you can pick up big all at their store in poway for like $45. The rental guns aren't the best but hey it's a rental. It's not like their going to give u angels or timmy's. The novice groups are truly novice and the advanced is advanced. The games are pretty close together so theres not much waiting around. Also the fields are crazy. The woods are decent size and spread out, with decent bunker coverage. The concept/speedball, are small and the bunkers are set up so you can work good angles on the other team.
the refs are young, maybe around 15 years old if not younger. Dont bother trying to call for a paint check unless ur right next to a ref. They do keep it very safe but they a lot of times just watch the games talking on the walki-talkies. When they call 5 mins left, the game actually ends up lasting about 10 minutes so dont dump paint when you think times almost out or ull be left in the game without paint. trust me its happened to me before.
Overall its a darn good field and i play there often. Very safe, clean, and awesome fields. Im giving it a 9 though cause of the refs but dont let it deture u from going.
