I think this is the best woodsball field in Iowa. If you have never been there before they have a safety briefing video that is short and to the point and also gives you an idea of the field layout. The staff is excellent and the reffing is always good. They serve food and beverages a very good price. They are normally open every Sunday 12-5 and Saturday's you can make a reservation for a private group.
Its 25 acres total which is a good size field especially compared to alot of places. I also like how you can bring your own paint and run any firing mode you want from using a pump to full auto. The staff helps newer players out with strategies and they explain the games well. The games are always switched up, every now and again we play a game that I have never heard of before which keeps things interesting and new, but also depends on the weather on the hotter days the staff tries to keep the people in the shaded field.
Denny (the owner) also helps people out with marker problems at a great price. The admission fee is also a good price especially since you can BYOP, but he also sells paint as well and its quality paint not cheap Wal-Mart balls or anything like that. I would recommend this field to anyone from a beginner to an experienced player.

Hands down best field in Iowa. The staff and refs are great, the refs make great calls even when people try to argue with them. I really enjoy this field due to its size (23 acres) and the awesome scenario games played there. Unlike other fields around you have time to strategise before coming under fire. Sneaking through the woods and over the terrain is great. There are many bunkers burms and even a maze like structure. It will take first time players a little bit to get their bearings but by the end of the day you will know the place like the back of your hand. Long story short if you and your friends are looking for a great place to play this is it! Oh and the prices are the lowest I've seen so far.
first off------you can use full autos and bring your own paint, how much better could that be
Denny (owner) is a first rate guy that will bend over backwards for you. This field is a wood setting that makes beginners and pros equal, no matter what setup they run with.
Denny has a unique variety of scenario based play that provides a challenging and exciting way to play. The scenario's are a way to break the monotany of capture the flag. I have been playing there for years and changing the games never gets boring and that is what makes everyone equal. granted I know the field backwards and forwards, but with the scenario, it doesn't matter because the objectives vary it up.
Every year, more and more is added to the field to make the play more intense. The variety of events makes a busy day of +50 people down to +10 people a fun day (somedays are just not busy).
I highly recommend trying this park out, even if you have to travel, it is worth the trip.
I love this field. Its the closest one to where I live (clarion,ia) The staff are great and give tips and stratigies to go along with many of thier sweet scenarios. I love the fields in which you play on, the woods ball fields are great and they add small builds for hostage rescue. The owners even give away free admission if you play there 5 times a season. The only complaint i have is they are no longer open on Saturdays. I talked to the owner and they said they werent getting enough buisiness on saturdays so made them reservation only in hopes to make sundays have larger groups playing.
Awesome woodsball fields and speedball too. It was my first paintball park experience and I'm hooked like mad now. I can't wait to go back. The two fields had plenty of cover ranging from trees and buildings, to burms and bunkers. I believe they said it was 23 acres worth of woodsball fields, nice!! The scenarios we played were fun as heck too. It wasn't just plain old CTF, although the CTF we played was fun as well. I'll definitly be going back, soon I hope.
This feild is full of obsticle such as berms forts forst's and even a creek runing down the midle seperateing feild one and feild two.
Their is an impresive set of bunkers thrughout the feild one and on the east side that is is borderd by a creek there is a set of four buildings simulating the village on the east border (awsom close contact action).
In the midle their is a pow camp with chain link surondeding, four towers provide supurb protection, unfortunatly the openess of the chain link means you have to hide be hind the pre made fortifications
on the north and south ends of feild on e there are two bungers with three sloots facing forward and an entrance in the rear they are exilent for a last stand.1
this is an exilant corse if you are a newbe like me than you will have a majior dis advantege if your gun is not hi quality, their are fue areas in which to hide. have fun

First off, most excellent field. Dennis and his crew run a top notch outfit here. To who ever mentioned having a "semi-bad" experience because of the group of players that were there, sorry to hear that, but it does happen unfortunatley. Glad to hear that you're still talking about playing there though.
Now, on to the good stuff. SSP is a must play, so far only been there just the once, but now that work and everything have calmed done, will be making regular trips there. Down side is that it's only open on the weekends, Saturday and Sunday from 1pm to 5pm. Plus side, as long as you've got your own gear, bring your own balls, for $10.00 you get one heckuva good 4 hours of playing in. They try to keep the action fast paced and the games fun.
It's already been mentioned above by previous posters, but they've got some very good scenario games set up (I still say that "dummy" from the Pilot Down scenario owes me money!! long story...) Pilot Down was a good one, though that dummy is pretty heavy... and a fun one was Terrorist... one group is the Terrorist group with the code to a "bomb" hidden in the woods. The other group are the "good" guys, they've got to find the bomb, find the terrorist, get the code, then deactivate the bomb within 15 minutes... major fun... Domination, CTF... Ring of Fire (speedball) was a hoot, with 4 teams on the speed ball course, you had balls flying at you from every direction.
Overall, their prices are right on, even when renting their gear it's still not a bad deal for what you get. Highly recommend to one and all that you make the run and enjoy a day at SSP if you're nearby (and we had folks from Des Moines and Minneapolis playing with us that day, both two hours away... they all said it was the best course around...)
Back 80-these guys are not just woodsball, they have X-ball, hyperball, etc.

This facility is a great place to be. THey have fun scenarios. It is also fun to play there for woodsball. Well now that I have said that, A couple of buddies and I went here and it was starting off great. Then when we started to dominate all of the other players, they started to get mad and they thought we were cheating. So now the 2 refs were always by us to make sure, and guess what we were never hit, until the last game. Then during the day during a scenario, a guy who had been shot and in the freezone walks on to the field and hands his son a pod, thats cheating. Then another time my friend shot this guys hopper,( friend used pink fill, very bright) the guy ducks behind a bunker, next thing you know the hopper is clean, thats cheating. Ok, now there is this dumb guy, once you get shot you need to raise your gun and say loud SHOT, or OUT. I was shooting at this guy and he never said anyhting so I kept shooting, finally I stopped and saw white fill on his back, I shot him and the dumby never said anything. Then he goes to the owner and complains I shot him to many times, and he was the moron who didn't say he was out. I mean just because a couple of 15 year olds were kicking 20-35
year olds butts doesn't mean you gotta cheat and complain like big babies!
Well we only got to play on Field 1, Field 2 was flooded so we couldn't of played there. We didn't get any Ring of Fire either because every one wanted to play scenario. I would reccomend playing here again as long as know one is a big baby. oh and it was cool because we got to see a guy with a A-5 response trigger, wow, it shoots fast!
This place rocks--me and a buddy went here this pasted weekedn and had a blast. Very professionally run and the games were continous. Hats off to the owner--he knows what he's doing. This field is well thought out and very fun. I recommend this place to anyone who loves playing the woods. Oh ya, the ring of fire is awesome. And FYI--bring an automatic if you have one cause you can use it all day long and really tear some people up!! This field rocks and I'll be back for more! The RING OF FIRE IS FIERCE AND FUN> I can't wait to go again. The drive from CR is definitely worth it.
