Review: I have played there many times and think it is a very nice feild. They should rename it to snipers paradice becuse there are so many forts and places to hide. the gun rental is cheap and the refs are very helpful. unfourtionatly there is alot of sand there so unless you have a tippmann and u fall in the sand your guns going to jam like every shot but other than that its great... thats why its my home feild.

Review: Very few places compare to the pits on a good day. And lucky for me I have never been there on a bad day. Staff always helpful. I mostly play speedball type fields in California and coming back to the woods made me realize what real paintball is about. Safety is awesome. Prices are great, hours are good. I was out there and they stayed open past closing because there was still quite a few people playing. Rules are well inforced. Refs are knowledgeable, and try to keep a level playing field. The only thing I was concerned with is the place was so popular there wasn't any place to set my gear except on my gearbag on the ground. So maybe in the future a larger staging building or more tables to put your gear on. Other than that great experience, frequent chrono's to make sure everyone was good.

I haven't played in any other fields in Illinois. The closest is in Jagers in Kansas City. That place was awesome, but Chilli is right on par with it.

Review: The Pits, as it has become known as, is one of the best fields in Illinois. With everything closing down in Peoria for paintball, it's getting hard to play. But Chilli is keeping the spirit alive and it is doing it well. The owner, Joe, is a Tippmann tech and a tremendously nice/helpful guy. How nice is he? Well, I did a stupid thing and accidentally kicked sand into my Tippmann Sniper, while it was uncocked. Tippmanns might be able to work with sand in them, but not this much. I mean, the sand was even in the foregrip! Well anyway, Joe was cool about it and stripped the damn thing three frickin times to get it working. All he wanted was a thank you and a promise to put the gun on the ground again, ha ha. The refs are usually nice and very helpful. I remember when I was a newbie out there and the refs helped guide me through a whole game to get to the safety zone. The paint prices might be a bit steep but you have to realize that they only charge about $5 to get in and like $2 for unlimited CO2 fills while having to pay taxes on 40 acres of land and keep 20 or so rental guns in working order. One of the best games that shows Chilli's true potential is the big scenario game. The last time I checked it was "Royals and Trolls" and "Western Style". I haven't been to the Western one but Royals and Trolls was the best! Yes, Chilli is strict on rules, but they are trying to make paintball funner by nobody getting seriously injured. Come on, no one really wants to use that Safety Waiver against someone because they got injured by some idiot who didn't have a barrel plug in the safety zone. There is only one thing that drives me insane about Chilli. There is an elderly man working there who is the meanest person I've ever met. He's got no patience and even threatened to kick me out on account of nothing, nada, I did nothing! Joe talked it over(see what I mean about a nice guy) and got the old guy to calm down. Anyway, aside from the old guy, the place is awesome. They've got over 22 forts on 4 fields, plus 6 specialty fields, speedball, hyperball, village, ammo dump, fuel dump, and the castle! What else could you ask for? And don't listen to the guy who says they absolutely suck, he apparently isn't a player. I hope I've convinced you to come out!

Review: simply put, the best facility around, i moved out of illinois 2 years ago, and have since played at fields in texas, oklahoma, and southern arizona, and even the fields that are considered the best in these areas do not compare to what chili had to offer. in terms of field size, variety, development, and staff, you cant ask for much more.

the biggest advantage chili has is its size with more than 40 acres and 6-7 different fields you never have to play the same setup twice in a day. also, you will find that they have a great balance of natural terrain and man-made bunkers/obstructions. EVERY field that i have played at since leaving illinois has followed a similar formula of at best a 5 acre area littered with bunkers - may as well be playing in a junkyard. also whereas many fields only have enough area to offer 1 or 2 different scenarios a day chili has mulitple fields with even more possible forts/starting positions and the staff does a great job mixing up the scenarios to utilize the entire field throughout the course of the day.

the only downside to chili is the number of newbies present at any given time - as much as i like to see new players, particularly players enjoying and learning the core of paintball (as opposed to being speedball junkies) the sheer number of inexperienced players -that come with any commercial field - can make it unpleasant for experienced players, namely when you are shot by your teammates, shot when you are out, or have to deal with the occasional problem child who wipes paint instead of calling out.

while i have not been back to chili in the last two years, having known the staff and ownership for the 7 years that i did play there regularly i can imagine that things have only improved as the popularity and local support of the sport has increased.

Review: This place is awesome, i've only gone there once (cause Im only 13 and can't really pay field prices for paint) but had the best time of my life. Games are limited to 15 minutes, which makes them much faster pace and exciting. Staff is excellent and always helpful, and everyone there (players) are always nice and helpful, before, after, and during a game (if they are on your team of course!) Best for woodsball, if you play speedball, I would suggest Area 52, but I don't play speedball, so Chilli is the best around, definately.

Update- I went there on there last day of the season, and it was great! If you want to go play paintball (woodsball especially) with experienced and GOOD players go here, every type of player goes here, woodsball and speedball, to come and have fun, note: if you want to play speedball, go to Area 52, we only payed 1 speedball game, but it was awesome, it was something like 15 vs 15, Quite frankly, if you like woodsball, go to Chili, but if you are a speedballer, you will get more out of Area 52

Review: Chili has the best woodsball field around... They are very strict which has its advantages and dis-advantages.. I am older and I cant relax and have fun with someone constanty watching me for infractions. They do not have a Pro Shop which to me is a major drawback, But there prices are the same as Area 52 now, and its a very good field for the Peoria IL area. I think that we all need to support both our local fields!! For some reason this area cant support a Paintball Store, the large Sporting goods stores arent who I want to support and they to have diminished there paintball products and only fill CO2 and then theyre out half the time!! Whether its Chili or AREA 52 Please support your local field so they can stay open and we have places to play!!!??? The only thing that keep Chili from getting a 10 is the lack of a ProShop and the sometimes over strict-ness on the rules. So I think theyre a solid 8 in my book.

Review: Chillicothe's paintball field is the best paintball field around. They are really strict about keeping your mask on until you are in this building surrounded by nets. The only reason you can take your mask off inside the building is because they don't allow markers inside the building. Their paint isn't to expensive. You get a case of paint for $80. They don't really don't sale any paint ball stuff. They provide free water in the safe building. They have awsome fields. They have a nice size speed ball field. But if you like playing speed ball i wouldn't go their. Most of the time they don't even play speed ball. But overall I think this is an awsome place to play paintball.

Review: Ahh the pits my home field. I live about 20-30 minutes away from them. Yes their paint prices are steep but not horrible. They are strict about safety wich is good. But they've been sayin for last few years that they may not renew the lease on the land which will suck. My 8th grade class graduates in a few weeks and we're gong to get a big group to go play. They are really good about the big group thing so its cool.

Review: Pros:
Lots of fields with lots of really cool bunkers.
Rental markers are not all that bad.
Field fee is really inexpensive.
Staging area is really nice.( I like that it is enclosed)
Safety is the biggest concern from the staff.
Not bad turn around time.(Not too fast, not too slow)
Teams pretty much even.
Refs are professional.

Cons:
Field Paint Only, $80 a case is kinda steep.

All in all a really good field for beginners as well as intermediate players. Played there 3 times and have never had a problem. I play mainly in Hawaii, but when I am in Illinois it is a great place to play...

Review: This field was the worst run field in the area, the people there don't care about their customers and the paint prices are crazy, also don't bring a little of your own paint or they will kick you out for doing it. DONT GO THERE OTHER PLACES ARE WAY BETTER!!!!
