Review: I just went to this field and have to say my experience was great. The refs were real friendly and helpful. Whoever says the field stinks is wrong. The refs were not lazy. While me and my friend were sitting in a bunker someone threw a grenade in, but it didn't hit us at all. The ref checked on us to make sure we were hit. Finally some kid rean into the bunker and made us surrender because we had semis while this kid had an auto. The ref made sure that no one shot us by telling other players that we surrendered and were out of the game. The thing that turned me off was the price of paint and the fact that the goggles fogged easily. This may be in part because I wear glasses. Overall the field was excellent also because the people there are friendly too. Great field.

Review: Me my brother, cousins and a gang of friends played at liberty's big game last June. It was a year ago so the memories aren't to vivid in my mind, but to sum it up i can't wait to play again this summer when im in the area. It was the most fun ive had thus far in paintball. It was pure woods ball with the exception to the train and villages scattered around which really made things interesting. i was on the red team, we kicked blue teams ass lol. **Note for Tippmann users: THIS IS A DEFINITE FLATLINE ADVANTAGE AREA. Like i said i played the big game, and all fields were open and able to be used at once except for the airball field. the tank was a very nice touch and really kept both sides on their toes, although it got annoying when you knew there was nothing you could do to fight the tank unless u had a grenade, aim, and very good luck. With all the fields open at one time the place was huge. Me, my brother and 2 cousins did a 4 man perimeter sweep of the place. Took us a good half an hour at least, sure felt long, with a few elevation changes. at the big game you can easily get lost. very good if you need to go to the bathroom. It also means that anybody who is savvy enough to find some way to communicate wirelessly across the field could find themselves with a big advantage because it sure did take a LONG time for info to get from one side to the other side of the field. By the time red team members on one side got the call that the other side needed reinforcements, the battle was usually over or near done.

I could go on for a while about my liberty experience. the 5 plus hours i played that day sure gave me alot of good stories to tell. I would suggest anyone go thre, especially to their big games.

Review: Liberty is great but their prices are to high. The amount of fields they have is awesome! and the variety makes it even better. I would say the refs are pretty horrible they basically don't really care, at least when i played. The prices are too high, 85 bucks for a case is outrageous, i could get a case for 40 in any paintball store. One time i went and someone found yellow paint in their case and they were allowed to use it but many people didn't know that it came out of one of Liberty's cases and the refs wouldn't even tell us what happened. How am i or anyone else supposed to react like that? what makes me not want to bring my own paint and not get thrown out for it? If you get your hands on some extra cash go here and hope that you have some truthful opponents, but if you are low on your money and want fair play go to Hogan's Alley you can bring your own paint. Liberty really is a great field but they need to rethink their prices and their Refs choices.

Review: I'm from long island and im always exciteed to play upstate, liberty is set on a ski mountain, it seems very harcore, when i played at their big games, u see a variet y of people pull up in trucks and tailgate. there is no pro shop but there is a foodstand, bathroom, indoor tables, outdoor tables, only 20 buks to get in, about 80 for a case, but i split it cause wen ur outside, the place is 350 acres so u wont be usin paint every 10 seconds. there is like fields, and villages and cliffs and valleys, its all there. bring friends and walkie talkies too. i had the best 6 hours there. i go every summer and i always come bak with stories. sure the refs are young and sometimes they are lazy but who gives, as long as ur havin fun.

Review: I went ther once becuz my frends said it wuz fun, they over did it. The ref suck, becuz the r only teens, they call u hit when it wuz only splatter, they play with each other. i mean i went with snow on the ground, and they were throwing snowballs at each other. on top of all thos things, the ref dont help u becuz they dont wunt to be shot, hello, then y ref?
now the cources r decent, they have an awsome speed ball cource, and cool village, and they have like 5-7 cources, but u have to have a LOT of people or u can only play like two feilds. The thing that makes my wood or my frends better, is the prices. 47 dollars 4 only 1000 paintballs. 85 for a case. OMG. 20 bucks 2 get in great. But to actually play u literally spen a hundred dollar for a few hours of play. Its stupid. they have ify staff, which are also the refs, and the rules they have are good thoe. It sucks thoe becuz the matches r a half an hour long, which is good, but it also takes like a half an hour just to start. If there is anothr place to go instead of liberty, go there!

Westpoint-10 times better than this field.Refs are so much better.
Review: The Pros-Speedball field!! Great terrain in areas.Awesome big games.Owner maintains safety in staging area as to keep your marker off and barrel condoms on.

The Cons-Price of paint, just sneak your own paint in,$100 for 40 dollar paint is not worth it plus the $10 admission fee. There is a lot of brush in areas.A few fields don't even have nets!Big safety issue. To reach the actual playing field you need to drive through the course,in the middle of a firefight a car began driving up the driveway. The last thing...THE REFS...The refs are absolutely terrible. No joke they are al 15-17 years old and don't pay attention.Constant wiping and bonus balling. I asked one of the refs to hold my gun and he looked at me smirked and went p.o.s.
I only recomend this field if you are highly into big games. There big games are huge!!

I give it a 6 only cause I still go play there.

paintball madness and some other place in the middle of the woods.
Both of them are way better.
Review: I went hear today to play because paintball madness was closed (for a wedding!). I was in the car with my freinds and we were deciding what to do. one of them suggested liberty so we drove to it. When we got there it gave me a bad impression. Some of the fields didn't even have nets! This is unexusable. When we started getting our gear out in the "staging area" we had the risk of it being stolen. When you ask for an air fill they make you do it yourself. I'm not saying I'm lazy and don't want do do anything but that can be a saftey hazard. when we started out to the fields they didn't even chrono us! In all i think liberty should just jump of a never ending cliff. I wasted a perfectly good sunday on a place that stinks. It takes like a half hour to get one game going. probably the WORST thing is the fact that there is a specific time for lunch! I mean what if you already had lunch or just want to play. The refs are teribl. They are a bunch of annoying little kids. The people are mostly pretty bad. I could litteraly walk around the filed in the middle of the game and not get shot. If your used to speedball wicth is my like home land it is prabaly the worst place you could go. You can only use the speed ball field if you have a party. Lastly the bathrooms are sort of funny. This is the only almost good thing I can say abotu the field. I nearly peed in the sink LOL! Never go there. I give this place a one. If I could I would give it a minus infinete.

Review: Liberty is overall a good place. There is a good atmosphere which is great for young, inexperienced players and for veterans. The courses are good and co2 is free. The prices of paint recently dropped. Some of the cons include the refs and no shop. The owner should really think about getting some guys over 15 to ref and a shop would be nice, but otherwise you should try it out.

Review: I've been going to Liberty for quite some time now. Now let me tell you why:
The fields are great (Except for one or two)
You don't have to trek a mile to get to the playing field (Most of the fields)
There's no chicken coops, you're dead, start walking to your car
You have access to your car between games (You don't have to carry everything with you)
You can get air/paint easily between games
Indoor plumbing
Food on site
Not run like a boot camp (this can be good and bad)
Friendly atmosphere- not family friendly, more like a blue collar, familiar bar kind of friendly
Close to NYC-Probably won't apply to you, but that's where I live

Yes they can work on a few things, here's the list:
Refs- Too few, and not very good (Not all, but most)
Shop- There is no shop on-site
Outside tables- Too few on those busy days
Down time- The down time between games is long
The refs take too long to start up the next game
If people aren't ready for the next game then they should be left behind

Conclusion and babble:
You will get the standard safety speech in the beginning. The goggle and gun safety rules are strictly enforced (if the refs catch you). I'll tell you if I catch you.
The refs aren't very good. If the owner isn't looking the refs will take advantage of it.
I wouldn't recommend this field to first time players or newbies unless they are in a private group with players who will show them the ropes. The refs will not hand hold them. Once you're out on the field, you're pretty much on your own. I like this, but a lot of people won't. I'm na√Įve enough to believe in the honor system. If I'm hit once and don't call myself out, the shooter probably would be able hit me again and again, if they want (deservedly so). And If I hit you and you don't call yourself out, you will get hit again and again and again...
I'm a firm believer that you are a responsible for your own actions. If you cheat you deserve to get lit up (If you cheat in one game and I see it, I will lit you up every chance I get in every game I see you in). If you're on the field and take off you mask and get hurt, too bad, you were warned.
Yes there are jerks, cheaters, morons and obnoxious...people out there. But that's not the field's fault.

Personal dribble:
Please don't cry if you get hit more than once or if you were hit after you called yourself out. I'm sure you've shot a player more than once and shot people who were already out. If you can't take the pain... then why are you playing this game?
I go to Liberty cause of the field setup, atmosphere and location. Not for the lazy refs. But then again I am a responsible paintballer.

I rate this field a
9 out of 10 for experienced responsible players
5 out of 10 for first timers, kids, newbies, troublemakers, and cry-babies

Review: Pros: Many different fields, Tippmann carbines for rental guns, CO2 refills are free, compressed air is $10 for the day. Wide variety of guns and gear to check out.

Cons: The refs are ineffective at best. Paint checks seems to be more of an honor code issue as the refs talk on their walkie talkies. This leads to a lot of head shots being taken as players can't wipe the paint off their goggles and still see. I saw players outside of the game boundaries during two games out of six, with the refs slowly coaxing them back into the field of play while shielding them from fire to good positions. The refs hover on the fringes of the game field and some disgruntled players (both red and blue teams) were shooting at them later in the day. This may have led to a chrono check of all non-rental guns wasting a good half hour and paint.

The site has a 20' surrender rule to reduce short range hits. This is not enforced and is not practical with bunkers set up on either side of service roads in two of the wooded fields. Teams have to cross the roads to capture a flag as an objective and in doing so either get cut down brutally or over run a position usually shooting within 5' which can leave a nasty mark. This is part of the game but don't tell players one thing and then force them to violate it. Sort of makes the rest of the rules seem optional.

The brush is getting thick in two of the wooded fields (May 1, 2004) which makes movement difficult and a good hit unlikely. I personally sat behind a wood pile with brush growing over and around it for one game and just lay down fire. I couldn't go forward and by the end of the round my face mask was nearly half covered in splatter from people trying to dig me out. Not terribly sporting but I couldn't back out of the location either.

There were a lot of unsportsmanlike activities beyond wiping off paint. Threats were made by players and refs alike. Language seemed limited to variations on four letter words. Shooting players that are out in the back as they are leaving. One woman was shot in the back of the head at the hair line during play at very close range.
