Review: The last time I was on the field everything was relatively average. I could not really say that there was something that stood out to the point of mentioning it to other friends or family. My comments pretty much relate to the staff working the fields and the 'store'. For the most part the field staff will work with you, but always make you feel rushed or you're an inconvienience... unless you're a regular team, tourny, or some other related type player. Anyhow, the store. They took on online class on customer relations and buisness 101. Thier prices on gear and equipment are a bit high, but survivable. I'm, pretty sure if there was another shop in the area, they'd instantly lose buisness primarily due to thier lack of understanding of keeping the customer happy. A happy customer comes back, a pissed customer will log onto the web, and personally spread the word of crappy service. Pappy is great with customers. I'm purposely vague about the specifics of the situation because I am still awaiting resolution on my issue with them. In the end, there's another store in St. Pauls. If you want to be treated like you're a valued customer, go to St. Pauls, and not Freedom.

Review: For starters the date is off. It was Late February-early March time frame IE last week of February or the first week of March on a Saturday, no I donít' recall the actual day other than it was a pretty nice day.

I give a Two. I had played this field with friends a number of times and always we had fun. This particular time was the killer of my using this field. There were thirty plus people there this day. Most of which were woods ballers. Yet the refs only utilized small portions of the field limiting this group (even in the woods) to a more speedball like/oriented game. Each game was take the fort, and the fort was always the smallest there, the ammo dump.

Even at the request of the players to utilize more of the field we were still made to use only the smallest bit. Now if there was a shortage of Refs I could understand this but point of fact: there was not a shortage. Why was this done? The answer is there isn't one because there was no excuse for it.

Field rules state no use of paint other than what is purchased at the field or the fields store (Correct me on that one if it's incorrect) I support this and those breaking the rules should be reprimanded. Doing a hopper/pod check is perfectly fine. But doing it 4 Times!!! Sorry thatís ridiculous seeing as they never caught anyone.

Back to game play. Options as to what to play next were never given. The Refs chose every game. The tire maze was played not once not twice but four times. This was not at player request. In fact I witnessed many of the days players (more than Half) expressing "this is fun but I would like to get back to the woods thatís why I come here, and when are we going to use more of the field?" The onsite REFS were more concerned with "being In Charge" and barking orders rather than with player enjoyment.
Each game ended with a 10-15 minute break. Then a 30 minute game break for lunch.
Ok I can handle this but! When you consolidate 30+ people in a congested area, games end fast and there is no need for a 10 minute break between games to refit. Most often players were standing around waiting on the REFs. Something a player/customer should never have to do.

Finally, Freedom boasts and has always boasted about having certified air smiths on site to take care of you paintball problems/needs. My marker went on the fritz, would not maintain pressure, would not feed, and list goes on. I took it to the field personnel. Not only did they not have an air smith present they had no idea where to start other than get more air. Something I had already done. When speaking to "Papi" (A fellow A5 user that works/manages at the field) his response was try replacing the ratchet and spring. Did freedom have any replacement parts on site? NO! Did there store? NO! According to them I would have to order it. Fine if the dayís games are done and over with this was not the case. In short they say/advertise they can fix your marker but they can't/couldn't. They didn't even strip it down to take a look. I would not be so ANTI Freedom Paintball but this was a horrible experience and an unforgivable one. Not to mention after I had talked about how good the field and the people were they embarrass myself and friend with terrible service and business in front of a family member who had driven 24 hours to visit me and play a game of paintball.

**NOTE** I have played in Georgia, Kentucky, Nebraska, Germany, and now North Carolina. I have NEVER been this let down or disappointed**

This is a military MWR Field I wander how they will feel knowing the treatment of it's customers and service members.

Review: freedom is a great field and i have been playing there every weekend for the last 2 months. i lost touch whith paintball for a while but thanks to freedom and the great guys at the store and the field i am addicted once again. The staff is very safety minded and try to make every time out exciting. I have never seen a accident there yet. The prices are very fair and i dont hear very much complaning. The field is huge and you may play several different games each time. I have seen a lot of the same players out there in the last 2 months and have met a lot of cool people there. every week a lot of new people birthdays are very popular. The people at the store are very helpful, they won't sell you a lot of junk you dont need .i have bought a few guns from them and am yet to be disappointed

Review: Well if you havn't been to the field in a while, a couple things have been changed. Its still huge, its like 98 arces! The tire maze has been moved closer to the net so everyone can watch, and its less of a walk to it. They also put up a sniper tower which is kinda cool. They also built a second white house out by the first one. And I know they have talked about putting up new forts on the field. Safety has always been a huge thing around freedom paintball. They just want to make sure that everyone that comes out is safe. Yea, they may yell at you and tell you to put your barrel bag on, but like I said, its for everyones safety. If you go to the store to get paint (cuz its a paint only field), its going to be cheaper because of wmr has to get their little share of everything. Other then at freedom paintball has been stepping up the game around here. There hours for the field are from 10 to 5 on saterday and 12 to 5 on sunday. I wanna say I think they have a big game this weekend. They have free rentals, hpa air, field fee. And i think all day co2 is 5 bucks, and its based off the movie spaceballs, sounds like fun!

Review: I went there a few times last year and it was ok. I went there yesterday and I found my new home field. Egress28 was turn it around. If you weren't impressed last time you were out, come on out now and give it another shot. :) To save a little money go to the proshop and buy paint instead of at the field. The store is on Yadkin close to the Sonic. At the field ain't to bad either, its reasonable to play. Come have some fun and play a little paintball!!

Review: One of the better fields i have played at, the staff were courtious and knowledgeable. Safety was maintained beyond my expectations, they make sure everyone is aware of the rules with clear postings of the areas where you need barrel plugs and where you need your goggles on. i also noticed that both the refs and players were very aware of safety both on and off the field. i am looking forward to seeing the new tire maze and the new fort for the woods ball field.

Review: Hey gang, I'm the new Head Ref at Freedom, so if you have a problem on the field just come see me and I'll work on it.

Next time you come out to the field you should notice some big changes. First and Foremost, the All Popular Tire maze is being moved up by the net at the staging area, so more ppl can watch the action. The Maze will be better built and bigger then ever!

Secondly, We are building a dedicated Hyperball field next to the Tire Maze.

Then we are moving the Sup'Air field down to the Grassy area as requested by many players.

We are building a new fort just inside the woods near the old Tire Maze to go along with the new sniper tower and other new forts that have been put up.

Stay tune for new changes happening at the field in the near future!

Black River is about 45min away from that field. It's about 5 dollars cheaper and the field is a little more tournament oriented, but not worth the drive if you just want to play a few times a month.

Review: I've played for a while ina few different states and there's obvious pros and cons to any field. For the most part freedom has a good thing going, albeit prices could use some help. As for the paint the price is hard to work with because MWR (Ft.Bragg) actually owns the field and they regulate pricing and profit there, it's actually about $10 cheaper at the shop. Yes they don't have a huge number of refs, so kids do wipe, that's life. If you want a ref following each player you shouldn't be playing at a rec field in the first place (come out on sunday it's a little more tourny oriented. The shop does keep a lot of pieces-parts in stock which is nice but again they're up there in price. Bob and the other guys know they're way around a gun very well and can help you with most of your problems right then and there. I've lost most of my taste for speedball so the course serves it's prupose when need be (D-Day) but it is a little slack for cover/creativity. The woodsball course is HUGE, which is nice I love the different games they come up with, though they could work to balance teams a little better with rentals and not having 5 PMR's on the same team lol. The hours do need to be enforced a little better to let people get a full day in, but overall good times. For those complaining about them being to strict about plugs and goggles, shut it. My cousin got his eye shot out, in every meaning of the phrase and now has one eye from a kid in florida who was never told about a barrell plug. The reviews on here dogging the field/staff/shop are just sad, obviously people from a rival shop, yes I know you guys too, who aren't doing that well. A seven out of ten for an overall field, six out of ten for a serious gamer's field. The game is supposed to be fun wherever you can play, is you have a problem with a relaxed setting without cameras and ESPN2, drive hours elsewhere to play.

Review: I'll give them a 5/10

Pros:
1. Very sociable it's very relaxed, and friendly.
2. It's also a great place for beginners on saturdays due to church leagues etc.
3. All day air is very conveniant
4. They sell much needed water
5. D-Day, a scenario that combines the entire Freedom paintball area, very unique, it is supposed to resemble D-Day (USA vs. Germany on the beach) very fun

Cons:
1. Although the atmosphere is very relaxed it's not very organized.
2. Black River is better, and is also $5.00 cheaper for admission
3. Not a very good course for pros or tourney level players.
4. Their paint is very rediculously expensive
5. Not enough room

Review: HALO Tournament was awesome! A lot of people showed up to play as well as try to win $3,000 worth of prizes being given away.

The games were at least 1 hour long. People were able to take breaks and rejoin the game as well as re-spawn every 15 minutes. Teams were divided up fair for the day. The flood was demolished during the 2nd and 3rd game!

Everyone that came to play expressed great pleasure in their experience for the day. Freedom Paintball is under new ownership and more tournaments are on the way.

The Freedom Warriors - Woods-ball Team were the referees for the day. They ensured that everyone was playing fair, safe and fun.

Hot dogs and drinks were available for the hungry crowds. And then the paintball eating contest was great. The winner ate more than 20 in order to win Physcobalistic Autocoker! Way to go!

Even after the tournament was over, people hung around and socialized while using up the remainder of their paint. Many paintballer's came on by the store after the game still excited from the momentum and shared their stories of the day.

Come on out and see us! Our next big game is December 30th. Steal Christmas Back from the Grinch! It is sure to be a lot of fun!!!
