Well I used to be into the tourney scene quite a bit but recently started playing recreational paintball again. I was looking for a field in my area where I could show up with my own gear/air/paint and play. I believe I found what I was looking for at SunyJims Paintball.
The first two times are free to come out and play; to get to know how the field is run. After that, a field membership is 25$ for a full year. Considering this is one of the last fields I am aware of that allow you to bring everything and play for FREE, the 25$ is WELL worth it.
The members seem so friendly and are alway's willing to help out when something happens to a player or their equipment. They have a field that is pretty open, and felt like a slightly slower pace speedball field. Everyone I have ever seen that went out to this field has a great time. They have another section of field that is definatly bushball, and I hear they have plans on working in a true speedball field. The games were broken up and well run, safety was alway's foremost.
All in all, I had a great time. I love the bush atmosphere and still playing speedball style while changing up to straight bushball from time to time depending on the players out that day. I am happy to find a field that still allows players to bring their own gear AND paint.
All in all, i'd have to say an A+. They may be small, but I'm sure you can expect some great things to happen with this club in the near future.
This club is a little rough, and may not have all the emenities but it's fun, great attitude and great people. It's a growing club and cheap to play at.

I was really impressed, they have a fantastic wooded revine field, lots of cover bush and trees. Really challenging to play. It's very natural old school bushball without all the buildings and artificial stuff out on the field that you see today.
The back field is the opposite side of the coin. Very hilly, open and fast, like a natural speedball course. The dumptrucks and hut on the field add to the challenge and make for some interesting terrain
I think the really cool thing to note about sunyjim's is the great people. Ready to share or help out someone with a marker that's not working. the sunyjim club members are top class good sports. It's really the way I wish more of the paintball comunity was like.
Check it out you can't go wrong. They still have a thing where you just bring everything you need and it's free to play. Thats right FREE TO PLAY. I brought my own paint, co2 and lunch and was able to play a day of paintball for about $20 worth of paint!! Where else are you going to get that?
