sc village is a really nice arena. there are many places to sit and rest after a game. i love the speedball fields and how u can just play when ever u want. on the other hand some walk on fields are not so great. many people go there so their are always lagre teams and i like that. over all i like tombstone better because of the fields.
I've only played once and paint-balled once so don't be thinking I'm a pro at this. The smell is bad, I'll give them that. Its in cow country so it takes about an hour to get used to it. The fields are alright. Its more like 50 on 50, the guys exaggerated a little bit. If its your first time going its a bit confusing. The layout is a little confusing and you will be doing alot of walking. The place is pretty large, i'd just guess around 5 acres so walking is bound to happen. They have around 15 fields all with different scenarios and themes. Some have abandoned cars, buses, tanks, and even military helicopters. This should some it up.
-Lots of fields
-Lots of players(I thought it was a good thing, more people to shoot)
-The environment, its really realistic, like an actual war but not. The vehicles help.
-The players, lots of newbies which gets annoying but lots of people to ask for advice
-Amount of games you can play. (I got there at opening, missed 3 games but got in like 10)
-using your own paint
-Lots of wipers, tons of them. You have to put about half a dozen balls on someone before they call themselves out.
-I don't necessarily think its the refs suck, more like being understaffed if that makes sense, refs are fair, just not enough of them.
-Depending on the field you can be in direct sun the whole time, the best fields are the Vietnam fields, make sure you don't miss those.
-I guess its expensive, I had no idea how much it cost to go paint balling so I can't say if it was cheap or not. Air is like 10 bucks all day refill or 5 bucks half day(after 12), admission is 25 bucks and I didn't have paintballs so its 60 bucks a case for those. The house paint was pretty good, broke well but expensive.
Overall the field isn't to bad, could be alot better. Not much you can do about the weather or shade because its outside. I didn't play the speed ball but the fields looked awesome. Just be ready to get burned and bring alot of drinks, you'll need them. The closest place for food is about 3 miles away and its a run down market. The closest fast food place is Jack-In-the-Box and that's about 10 mins away. Make sure you hear rules or else you're screwed.
SC village has alot of fields that are very cool but it seems like you play the same ones over and over. The arena fields are really cool too. It's kinda expensive, $25 all day... unless you play the tournament fields only which is $10, a pretty good deal. The smell isn't that bad, you forget about it. The rec fields are so dirty, like they never clean up. The tournament fields were decent, i actually saw some workers shoveling paint. Getting from one place to the next is so far it waste alot of time, not to mention the games take so long because it's always 250 vs 250! They need to make the groups smaller or somethin, sometimes its so crowded i find myself just sitting doing nothing cause any form of movement will mean 100 people shooting at you. The place is very understaffed. Finally, the insects are horrible, flys, fireants (or red ants, not sure) everywhere.
Jungle Island - Good, but doesn't have as many fields, doesn't divide beginners/experianced players
I've gotta say, I loved this field when I went there.
-smells just fine, (don't know what ppl are talkin about, the ranch smell goes away like the first 2 minuits your there)
-HUGE. A LOT of fields, and a lot of really cool fields. Best fields I've been on so far. Especially So.Vietnam and Beirut.
-REALLY Great if you have a private party
-Groups are divided into BEGINNERS, INTERMEDIATE, and ADVANCED, for walk-ons.
-Lots of Refs.
-Costs a bit more than other places
-Takes a while to walk to the different fields
-I guess not all refs are that good, but that seems normal.
Tombstone; Conquest is not exactly in the area, but in So. Cal
This is the first field i played in. I'll start with what i like. There are plenty of fields. The one on the hill gives newbies a little help if they are at the top. You can bring your own paint. The worse thing is the smell, its on near and still is a ranch. or something like that. they don't seperate beginners and advanced players. needless to say being part of the beginner group we only won once being on top of a hill. not all the advanced players cheat some are decent players. i got shot once like 15 feet and the guy made sure i wasn't hurt. i was hit on my belt so i was okay
Well, I heard that SC was a good place to go play paintball. So on the way over there, I was excited. When we got there, the first thing I saw were two guys cussing at eachother and fighting. Nice eh? It smelled like my baby brothers diaper. Crowded like maggots under a dumpster. The teams were not fairly divided up. The fields were not maintained properly. The head ref though it was funny that a pro was playing with some of the begginers. He just laughed when all of the players were getting paint thrown at like 12 BPS. Not very good place. Take your new players to tombstone.
sc is a great place to go just to have fun. it help me in all the speedball areas because there are about 5 speedball courses and they are all different. they also have fields and junk the have a pro shop on the campus. in conclusion i loved playing at sc if you are a beginner or a pro this is the place to go when u what to sharpen your skills.
it might sell and stuff but it is the paintball Field in socal

SC Village is 1 and 1/2 hrs. away from me and it is the only one the i can get to,
SC Village Is Great. all the courses are different and all something something about them that makes them good i went there 2 times and ive played every course and not one is better than the last. The rentals suck, paintballs are over priced, and Co2 is also but overall it is good just have the stuff you need before you go..
The local pro shop by my aunts friends house (paintball players club) was tight, and gave us info on C.A's fields. My buddy and 1 decided to check out sc village since i heard they had great speedball and they said alot of people show up (jesus christ were they right). Living in Austin, when somone says there is alot of poeple they usally mean like 10on10 at the most, any bigger would be a miricale. So we checked out sc to see what it was like. OMG..... ALOT in C.A language means 500on500... i mean to was so com-pack lemme put this is simple teams.. It was like one of those circus midget cars that 500 clowns fit into. . . Well me and my friend played with the upper class men, cause we arnt no poons ^ ^. I must say thou, for being one of the most popular fields in the world. Sc sucked. U have to walk 800 miles to pay field admission, than walk another 800 miles to pay for ur air, than walk ANOTHER 800 miles to fill ur tank. Shiz, after that i was ready to go home and take a nap. Besides all the walking we did do some paintballing. There rec ball fields were real nice, and there speedball field was gorgeous... I just about creamed myself just looking at there speedball fields. There service was. . . whats the word. . . Well odd. They had 500 kids in there pro shops selling field admissions and what not, and like 5 refs to ref the 800on800 group..... If u ask me 5 refs can barley keep track of the 10on10, at Austin, how can they watch 800on800. I also needed a alan wrench to fix my cocker.... so i could turn it down (shootin a tad bit hot ^ ^) and, they did not have a alan wrench in the whole sc village area for me to use.... Not one friggin wrench... Man u guys need to work on ur staff. For real. Ur gettin dissed by some kid in a different state. . . i would be embarrassed if i were u. Nice speedball thou ^ ^ I think thats the only thing i liked about the whole place.
tombstone-rundown w/ uneven fields
hollywood sports-crap, crap, crap
this field is good overrall, but they need to solve some serious sanitation issues...the bathrooms(at least for men) smell like crap and piss and paint...
the rental guns are maintained so poorly, you'd be lucky to get one that doesn't chop after the first shot...
their "pro-shop" sucks ass, and their items are so overpriced, you'd think u were at disneyland, holy hell, they tried to sell me a barrel condom for $12!!!
the refs are very lax, and they honestly don't really care, hell sometimes they even ignore your yells for a paint check...
they need to call in some sort of an exterminator or something, 'cause they have enough flies to match the amount of paint everyone has...
despite that, the refs are fun to talk to, they offer you some conversation when everyone else is stupid, and such, and it's good to get their good side...
the fields are very well made, and they're fair
there are so many damn fields, i still haven't played on 'em all in two years...it's fun
the themed fields are fun, things like germany and taliban city and things like that...
a lot of ppl go, so for the themed fields, you always have big groups...
the refs are lax
u can sandbag down to the beginner levels, and usually, as long as u say that you'll play nice, the refs will let u in...
they at least have working flushable bathrooms
the staff is very friendly
generally, the other players are friendly...
the tourney fields are messy, but fun
the tourney fields are a great place to pick on newbs...
overall, it's a great field...the primary concerns are the sanitation and the refs themselves...
