Ok, i'm from out of the area, about 4 hours north of this field, and i'd have to say that all told, this is probably the best field i have ever played at. My only gripe at all is that the first time i went there the road was all washed out and rutted, but since then they have fixed that perfectly. I don't know if this is a regular occurance or not, but we managed all right. Prices are definitely competitive at around 50-60 bucks a case depending on the paint quality. As far as the fields go, you won't find better tended fields and setups anywhere else in this area. I have only played on the Xball field (that's right, it's a FULL Xball field) but i looked around and walked some of the others and all are very well maintained and laid out. The grass is mowed and very healthy, so much so that i found myself sliding when i didn't even really need to, just cuz it was so easy to slide into my bunker. This is the only place i've played other than Northside where you can get a full 4500psi fill, and in Ramsey, that only happens if you are lucky enough to be first in line after a game or something. The personnel is nice enough, but i'd deal with the field team as much as possible, those ST. Mary's guys are good guys and good players, and they know what they are talking about. The owner can be a bit rude at times, though it's nothing serious. Tournaments are always well organized and they have a regular tournament season of their own running all summer with large entry fees and large prizes so if you live in the area, check that out. So yeah, this is definitely a well put together and well run field and the owners and anyone else involved definitely deserves a pat on the back. If you are ever in the area you definitely want to CHECK IT OUT!

Bsck 80 is an awesome place to play at. The Hyperball is a lot of fun. The speedball there was also fun. About every field there was awesome, except for the tire field. I would of even had more fun there if they had their X-ball field up. My friends and I thought this place was very reasonable in prices. We are gonna come back here many more times. The Refs, Staff, and other players there are very friendly and help you with your problems. I would give this place a 10!
The field is pretty well built and maintained. They have open play on Sundays which is a good time. People all seem stuck on the speed ball and hyper ball so you don't get to play woods very much but the woods course is pretty good for the size. I would recommend it.
This feild is an awsome place to play. The hyperball is so much fun, it's layed out perfect. The prices are really reasonable too. The refs are really nice and fair. Everyone's pretty laid back, people will help you with any problems you have. I recoment this feild to any people in southern minnesota
Wow, when I first started playing here all they had was one huge speedball course. Now they've gotten things together and offer a Hyperball, Speedball, Defend the Fort, 2 woods and soon X-ball fields. Simply amazing!
The hyperball field is sweet with barrier interupted snake, a giant "spider" bunker at the 50 and many nice filler bunkers.
The speedball has so many angles that it'll cure your tunnel vision immediately.
I don't like woods ball myself but back in the day I used to play these fields all the time! Their large and the foilage is great.
About the people that complained about the ground condition of the fields, that was because they just created those fields and they had yet to press, airiate and plant grass on the field. Sometimes the staff can get a bit irritated if you start getting cocky but if you bring your problems to them calmly and POLITELY then they will help you in the nicest way possible.
The refs are quick and will almost ALWAYS check you or another person for a hit if you call it (most fields won't do this at open games).
This is a great field and the prices are sickely cheap!

I did not like this field at all. When we first showed up, our gun setup as well as ourselves as players were instantly attacked by the staff. I used to use a stingray, probably still will at times, and i was called stupid for owning one, and it was my first gun ever purchased. i think that the attitude the refs had towards playing is a horrible way to act, and it also reflects on the sport of paintball and turned me off to really trying fields at all. we can play in our own back yards for a lot cheaper and have just as much fun. one of the refs also cheated and allowed one team to start early, telling us al the best ways to win the game when we were just there to have fun. there fields were nothing spectacular, at least the woodsball ones, the speedball was alright although the ground was hard as brick. the refs also smoked and cussed at us, all in all they left a horrible impression and i will never go back again. for these reasons i give this field a 1 out of 10, they need to grow up a bit.
When I first came to back 80 ii was the best exsperince i have ever had i mean they have everything there a speedball a hyperball woods extream woods there price is cheap and the staff make u feel good for comming it is just a awsome time i am there every open play at leat when i can offord so anybody in the winona region come on down to back 80 and ask for scott and i will show u the feilds we are very helpful at the back 80.
zumbro valley- not so great
apoc- by madison, WI- good field
i have played here ever since i really got into paintball, i have played backyard games with friends, but ive been playing here since me and my team really got into tourneys.
well there is quite a lot of good things about this field, there is different fields-
hyperball- good, fun field, game is pretty fast- good angles and shooting lanes
there are 2 woods courses:
extreme woods- short field with few bunkers and trees, very very fast game with lots of close range shooting
regular woods- good field with lots of good cover, sort of a slow game, im more into speedball and hyperball
the fields are managed pretty well, grass is mowed and kept nice and short.
they are setting up 2 new fields, a new air ball field which will be all ready to go next spring if all goes well. And the new fort game, which isnt quite completed but it is on its way.
staff is good, know what their talking about
overall good field.

I will never go here again. My soccer team came here for an end of the season party thing, and it was horrible. they have some decent fields (the hyperball at least. the speed ball is nothing special adn the woods fields are not too great either.) but the staff are rude, arrogant, insulting, they curse all the time, and smoke. The referees insulted our equipment, insulted us as players, and often cheated and let one team start before the other. According to their site, you get one free CO2 fill per 500 paintballs bought, well it took me 5 minutes of debating with he owner to get mine. If i could rate any lower than a 1, i would. i give them a zero. like i said, no matter how desperate i am, i will never go here again.

I agree with DooBiedoo. I think someone is pushing comments untruthful. This place is not great. They have alot of work to do. The hyper ball and Speedball courses are very rough to run on. I was affraid to break an ankle. The woods fields are OK but not the best. The players there are all little newbies. There weren't any real players there. The staff was not very nice. They were all kind of grumpy to deal with. Maybe it was a bad day. The air situation was nothing to call home about. The prices are good so I will give you a two instead of a one.
