Giant Lakeside - smaller than camp pendleton but pretty good.
So i went with a group of friend for my buddy's b-day me and him got into paintball together about a year ago and since then we bought our own markers. The other people in our group were noobs with rentals. I recently bought an invert mini and halo v35 loader. Anyways they have rule that electronic equipment must go to "advanced group". I was unaware of this because we had played there before and no such rule existed. At first they allowed an electric marker with GRAVITY fed hoppers so I had to RENT a regular hopper. Then after the next game they said it was be the last game they allow electric ANYTHING so I had to rent a crappy low end rental and didn't even get to use my full set up. I didn't want to leave my friends or make them go advance because they are new and would get torn up by e-markers while they had rentals.I was sooooooooooo disappointed that I had to pay for that stuff and didn't get to use my own equipment.
BEWARE IF YOU WANT TO PLAY IN BEGINNER AND HAVE AN E-MARKER/LOADER!!!!!
PS I'm not complaining that advance was to "hardcore" or "scary" because if it was just me and my more experienced friends we would have gladly went to advanced. The thing is that we were in a group with inexperienced players and obviously we all wanted to play together.

Velocity, Weekend Warriors (now Giant Paintball), Borderlands (you're old school if you ever played at this field.)
Directions to the Field:
I-5 at the Camp Pendleton exit. Drive on base and tell them you're going to play paintball.
Ok, I first played at this field about 6 years ago and I always thought it was a fun field to play at with something for everyone. Back then, the biggest draw was that it was only $11 to play for the whole day.
Well, a bunch of us haven't played paintball in a while and decided to head up there last Saturday. There were about 18 of us, so we made reservations for our own private game. That's where we noticed the 1st improvement. No longer did we have to put down a deposit to reserve the private game. Instead, we just confirm with the field the day before we go up and that's it!
Next we get there... Right away we noticed that a couple of the fields have been completely re-done. They have added vehicles, tanks, and other props to make it more entertaining to play on. Then we go to pay... I had figured that since we were doing a private game and all of us have our own gear it would be $20 for admission and another $10 for air/co2... Nope! $20 is all each of us had to pay for a private game with our own ref and included all day air! We had a great ref (Mike) who got us chrono'd and we were off to our first game. We had a great time and got 3 sets in before we broke off for lunch.
Lunch... Now that was awesome! There's now a food stand set up with reasonable prices and an awesome variety of stuff. We ate and played another 3 sets before we decided we were done for the day.
I have to say that we had a blast. Even a few guys that always seem to grumble a bit when we said that we were going to play at Camp Pendleton were stoked at the way they've upgraded the park. I can't wait to go back and play again, it was an awesome time. If you haven't been up to the Camp Pendleton paintball park in a while, you owe it to yourself to give it a shot.
1st off, this was my very first time paintballing so I can't compare it to other paintball parks, but if I did I might say this would be the best, unless there is some other field that's awsome as this one.
This place has everything! From high ground for snipers to close quarters for cqb. I would recomend this to any woodsball player. And from time to time they will have scenario games. And there is one speedball court/arena I don't know what to call it.
The accuracy of this review is disputed. Please see discussion on the comments page.
Period of Field Use:

Other Fields in the Area:
my backyard and my friends backyard.
Directions to the Field:
Um i went throught the naval staion on the fallbrook side of camppendleton
When you go make sure u have registration of your vehicle and id....but since i have military id i wasn't hassled
fields are good and safety is a very high priority here... everything under 280 fps (i think the way my ref explained it was anything over 280 is a warning 310 u sit out a game 320 sit out multiple games and anything over 350 u go home. And some refs carry handheld chronos so the fps is very well inforced.
barrel socks are on at all times and the impression i got was if you have a barrel plug then u will have to buy a sock. Players are all generally nice and are helpful but i only came across one *sshole but who doesn't in their life.
As for paint they sell you might get weapons grade paintballs or jt surge.....so hopefully u get the weapons grade stuff. the price of the paint is ofcourse inflated but you can byop if you dont rent the equipment.
Refs are nice and make good calls and are always giving newer players tips to play better and make more kills.
they have tank orings and batteries and the basics of paintball for sale but you not gonna be able to go to there shop and get a new backcap or new trigger frames.
bathrooms are porta potties andi never use em so i can't tell you. but for the ladies the base exchange and some food places are only a mile or two down the road if you need a clean stall check those out.
and sometimes the refs will let you choose different rules for a game i.e. capture the flag, elimination, protect the president, attack and defend etc.
Oh and finally this place gives TRUE 4500PSI FILLS
when you hook up and start filling, when the compressor is on, then you can get 4500psi or pretty darn close to it =] but then your tank cools and your left with 4300PSI but still thats as close to a 4500psi fill your gonna get
On the Camp Pendleton Base. Easy to find on the web.
The prices are good, the refs are great. Took a little time to get the games going but once we got started we had a great time. I would like to point out again how great the Refs were and basically the whole staff there. They are friendly people who know that you are there to have a good time and they make sure that you do. The playing fields are okay compared to some other places I have played. Food is available for purchase, hot dogs, hamburgers, tri tip sandwiches (who doesn't like BBQ). All in all it was a good experience. Great Job Pendleton. OOOH RAAH! SEMPER FI.

I am not sure. I was visiting family in the area and am not familiar with other fields in the area.
Directions to the Field:
My family drove me there so I'm not really sure.
I was visiting my Dad and Mom who live in San Clemente at Christmas time and wanted to something fun with my brothers and my dad. I suggested paintball (playing from time to time in my hometown) so we could be outside and do something fun. I was impressed with how organized their opperation was. It was very clear where to go and what to do. I brought my own gear and my family rented theirs. Our first game started and right away I was pulled out for having too good a marker (SP Shocker NXT) and was told to go with the intermediates. I left a little upset, missing out on the whole purpose for coming. I played with the intermediates for one game and left to go back to the staging area. I met up with my group when they were all finished. I asked someone in the check in desk if I could play with my family even though I had a better marker. They said that would be fine as long as I didn't go crazy with my marker. I played the rest of the day with my family without incident. Every field we played on was unique and a lot of fun. The service is outstanding and the staff is friendly for the most part. I like the fact that with my all day air fee I was able to fill my own hpa tank and never had to wait in line for anything. Next time I visit down south I may check out this field again.
The safty is awsome
I had a ref named sebastian ring, he was so cool, he helped fix my gun and i would def Recomend to request for him
He explained everything really clearly and i understood a lot
I hope i go agian cause if i do im asking for him
Although he did have this annoying friend that also worked there named stephen
Best time ive ever had in my life
The food pizza tased great
enter camp pendleton
sign on the right
its a fun field. the woodsball fields are nice and they are creative. the safety is high. wear your mask have your barrel sock. there are safety nets everywhere. its from 8:45 - 4:00. rules are in the intermediate/advance there is bunkering and no surrender rule. in begginner there are surrender rules but no bunkering. no blind firirng. the service is good. they'll fix your stuff for cheap and all that. refs are nice and pretty decent with calls. the players are usually fair too. maybe a little cheater here and there. food is some snacks and drinks but real food not in the park. there are tables and lockers to put your stuff on. Its a great park. o the speedball field is pretty nice for pickup games too.Prices are excellent!!
12 outta 10
if you get military discount.
10 outta 10 if not

Velocity Paintball Park, SC Village, Weekend Warriors, Gecko/Raza
Directions to the Field:
the paintball park @ camp pendleton
I've been going to this park for a long time now. My first visit I had several marker problems which were all fixed free of charge by the staff there. I didn't really know anything about my marker or the sport in general. Now, I ref there once or twice a month and play there every weekend.
new website is at http://www.thepaintballpark.com
The park is now under new management but with mostly the same staff. New rental equipment that is more accurate and reliable than ever, and a new airball field.
The fields are each very unique and a lot of fun to play. The thing I like most about it compared to places like SC Village is that there are more walkon games throughout the day. I always end up going home with no paint left early in the day. At other parks I never get to play enough games to go through all my paint by the end of the day.
One thing you will see is that people who work there actually enjoy their jobs and try to make sure that everybody has fun while playing safe.
If you ever have a private group, ask for Jay to be your ref!
