Paintball Atlanta - Sucks ; DGS - OK ; American Paintball - Not Great ; Wildfire - OK
Maximum Paintball is BY FAR the best field I have ever played at. The staff is great, the owner is one of the coolest guys I know, and the fields are flat out awesome. They have:
-1 X-Ball Sup-Air Field
-1 Hyperball Field
-1 Woods Field
And last but not least, they just got the SHOCKTECH FIELD FROM PSP'S WORLD CUP!
All the fields are great. Some great maintanance has been done on the field, and its as good as new. Most people (shocker69, etc) that gave it a bad review did so because they play out of a rival field, DGS, do not listen to their reviews. Maximum is the cheapest and best place to play PERIOD.
This is a great place to play because it's cheap, very friendly, and has great quality fields. They have helped me fix my guns on more than one occasion and saved me lots of money. If you want to play woods ball, speedball, or need your gun fixed quickly and cheaply, this is the place .
Maximum paintball is the only field I have played at, but for $20.00 and bring your own paint. It is a deal you can not beat. They have 1 air ball field,1 pallet field,1 wood field with 2 story fort and 1 hyperball. There is more than enough fields for any ones taste. The price for their cheap paint is $55.00 and it is the best white bax paint I have ever used.
Wow! Thats all I can say. When I first went to Maximum (about a year ago) I was impressed about how nice the employees were to me and assisting me for whatever I needed. The fields were nice and clean and were very well kept. When the airball bunkers needed to be fill there was a ref there to fill it up for us.
The regular players and refs that come there are so nice and are willing to help you with anything that you want. Sometimes they will even give you some advice on how you can make your game better (that was cool).
Now after a year of playing there regularly everything has just go better. Now they have a great x-ball field and their hyperball field had also been changed around and is even better than before!
All in all this is the best field around that I have been to, and I would definately reccommend them to anyone!
I have been playing at maxium sentes shane took over and I love it good paint, great price, and good feilds. I have readed alot of reviews of fields and all i hear is people saying how sad the fields are.first you can not grow grass on a field that dont get to a chance to grow there are at least 3-4 teams and 20 to 50 walk-ons on the fields in a weekend this does major damage to the grass and ground so it will not grow so well but I have seen shane and the refs working on them . this place is for people that love to play . its not a gulf club .there not smooth field of brunda for you to putt on or a gulf cart to carry you to the next hole or even a team grounds keepers to klep every blade of grass uniform but there is a guy in a ref shirt hand pushing a mower trying to keep grass from getting too high and cleanup .and he gets no pay .he does it for the love of the game . and the shop people all work for free and they all help fix thraws fields you people say are so bad . I have been playing for 4 years and I have played everywere and maxium is the best.
ga2.0, ultimate paintball, fat city, wildfire, paintball atl, iv play rec ball all over ga,and they all have there ups and downs. Some stores cost to much some don't have good field and some don't have enough fields
For those of you that read the post of other people that are negative they have a point to some extant. Some times the reefing sucks and some times its really good.
When it sucks is when the kids are out there reefing and when its good is when the adults are reefing and you know who you are. The problem that most of the public doesn't know is that all the refs that are out there are not getting paid they do it because it needs to be done. When im out there reefing i ref like its a tournament ,if you don't like it kiss my hat thats the way i ref! If you want to go to Johns or some where else go just tell John i said hi.
The good side of the field is when some of use are out there Curtis,Philip,Shane,Greg,Chris,Adam ect.. and your gun does go down we don't mind you using are gear ,iv seen all these and more people do that for customer's as long as its not a habit. Now go somewhere else and try that good luck
Same goes for the fields just so there's no mistakes there is 1 woods field my favorite,1 hyper ball field,1 air ball field and 1 other field behind the air ball field that makes 4 field for those that cant count.
p.s. most of you know me and know im not talking s__t but please people come out play have fun if there is a problem let Shane know he cant fix it if you don't tell him.
Some day the field are all in good shape as long as the weather doesn't mess up the air ball field and Shane has started growing grass on the air ball field and trying to get rid of the water draining problem.
but for 20 dollars and bring your own paint its not a bad field and i don't pay for air anywhere i go that because all the people that i know that own fields are good people!
PB Atlanta - Expensive, but much better shape, choices, and better Refs
Paintball Command (New Orleans, LA) - Sweet Place to play.
I have limited experience with Paintball - but this was my 3rd field.
My thought the whole time was "this would be a incredible place to play if they just invested some time in maintenance, cleanup, and safty".
The place is small with 3 (or 4) fields - 1 Airball, 1 Speedball, and 1 Woods.
I tend to be a woodsball player so I will keep my comments at a high level as I am too new to comment on layout of speedball, etc.
1. Unlike the two fields I played in previously, the people there to play were incredibly nice. Teenagers that were respectful to us newbies and enjoyed playing with us the whole day. Most fields I go to the players are snotty, rude, and elitist.
2. I enjoyed this woodsball course. It's smaller so not much time is spent searching out others. But it still has forts, coverage, bunkers, big tree's, ravines, bridges. Its not a glorified speedball course in the woods. This is a true woods course that plays fast.
3. Staff - the man behind the counter only - was extremely nice. (The kid "ref's" we saw only once in the store were jerks)
4. Bring your own paint and all day air - good price.
1. We played for 6 hours with not one ref in sight. We would take turns setting up the games and being a ref.
2. Taking your mask off in the fields were rampant.
3. No barrel plugs in the safe area's at all. At one point I noticed I was the only one of 8 out there with a plug.
4. The day before it rained - but 24 hours later there were bunkers full of water and huge rocks in the airball and speedball fields. One of the common area's were flooded to our knees and the speedball and airball fields were 1/4 swamp. It smelled like cow pasture.
5. The woodsball has so much potential **but is extremely dangerous**. The bridge is a slippery death slide. If you are attacking from high land down to the low land - you will slip and fall, more than once. We loved playing out there, but man was it dangerous.
6. The common area's although covered (nice) are filthy and poor kept.
7. The place is an ankle sprain, busted knee, broken arm, or accidental shot in the face while in the staging area waiting to happen.
8. No traffic. The (6) players we met on a Saturday had been there all morning and we were the first new players to arrive at 2. We then played untill 5, with no one showing up. This may be because of the poor weather in the days leading up to our visit - but 8 people in one Saurday?
Ironically, I think I will visit at least one more time. The players I met were fun to play with, I loved the layout of the woodsball field. Hopefully somone at the field will have an epiphany and envest $500.00 as well as 12 hours of maintenance into the place. If your an older player (late teems/20's) I would reccomend this place. I would definately not reccomend this for unsuperivsed kids (i.e. Soccer mom dropping of thier 13yr old for a day).

Major Paintball Toccoa- It was way better and and much bigger.
Neither I nor my team liked Maximum Paintballs course or atmosphere. For one thing the store manager could try being a little more nice. When you pay your 20$ to play, you walk out to the waiting areas to prepare to play but all that was going through our heads was, "Is this the course?" The courses are ridiculously small and in poor condition. The course at the entrance was very small. The turf was muddy and they had rocks the size of baseballs all over the ground. Now on to the woods course. It has some alright bunkers but the course is all down hill. In some spots it was so steep and muddy you couldn't even stand up without holding on to something making for a hard time to get somebody out. I would have to say that the woods course is the best field there but I only give it a 3. Last and the worst of all was their hyperball field. It was so small that I could of played in a truck bed and it would have been about the same thing. My advice is don't waste yout time here. If you are player that likes to play on a good field try playing Major Paintball in Toccoa. If you play Maximum you will leave disapointed and also mad. The owner is a real butthole and all day air well that is a crock of crap because they act like they don't want to fill your tanks and when they do they don't fill them all the way. This is the oppinions of my team and me. Save your money and your time! THANKS.
best field i have ever played on bring your own paint, nice people, and cheap. not a lot of refs but people don't wipe. you can bunker if everyone agrees. this is the best field i have ever played on. much better then pb Atalanta. they have a x ball Field and a hyper ball Field with the best woods ball field that i have ever seen. Someone said that this place is expensive. That is a LIE!
Maximum is by far the best field in Northern Georgia..... ive tried them all I am a tournament player and this is the best field unlike at some field where the refs stack the home team in games maximum is make your own teams...Maximums fields are kept up very well. If you are a tournament player on a team bring them out to maximum for a good practice. If you are a beginer come out with some friends and have fun. BRING YOUR OWN PAINT all day air for 10. The operator of the field is extremely nice a thoughtful torwards the players who come to maximum....... See you guys this weekend
