I've only played at this field twice and sort of I like it. The man-made parts of the fields are so-so, but it's located in a ravine with lots of trees and bushes making it an interesting place to play. They've got basic picknick and bathroom facilities but not a whole lot of parking. "The Fort" and "The Ridge" are my favourite fields. Paint prices work out to about $0.10 per pellet (a bag of 200 is $20 ect.) which seems to be the normal price of paint at any place in Alberta. I just use rentals, a basic pakage with an old Tippman marker, coveralls (I bring my own), mask, and 200 paintballs is $25. The reffs there aren't anything special (especially the one 14 year old kid that everybody hates) and they time the games for you so they're only 15 mins long, which I like because you get to play a lot of fields more than once. The location is also a plus because it's only about 10-20 minutes from Sherwood Park. Overall I like to go there because of the location and price, but if you don't minding driving a bit or you live in Edmonton there are a lot of better places
I've played at PAG (excelllent indoor speedball, and likewise excellent outdoor park),TAGS (best outdoor feild around, just hard to get to), Quest for Adventure (very good fields but really lax rules), Urban(good paint, good prices, good refs, kinda poor fields)

ESG has decent rentals (Tippman pro-carbines; kinda old and beat up but like all tippmans still running smooth and efficiently) and excellent paint (although it's kinda pricy for my tastes). The park itself is very good (hamburger hill makes it memorable, with a dry creek and a huge hill, for the prairies obviously). The bunkers are all fairly well constructed and the angles within the park are decent, not favoring one side any more than the other. The only downside to this park is the high paint prices, and the poor reffing quality. It doesn't take much to be a good ref, just outline the rules and make sure you and everybody else follows them, and if they don't make sure to kick em out. The refs at ESG don't understand any of that, because they're fools who don't outline the rules properly, don't follow them themselves, and don't use coercion (consequence) to convince people to play fairly.
PAG, Jazz, ESG. ESG compares very well with these other fields.
Review:
Good prices. Great terrain more than 5 fields. Rental guns are ok, fairly old tippmann pro carbines. Staff is alright, they'll fix everything. Are VERY stric with regulations and paintball laws. SOme of the Ref's are much too young and chould be playing, not reffing. Hard to get to location when its raining, there is alot of mud.

Esg is over all a really good outdoor field to play at they have Tippmanns to rent (pro carbine i think) and great paint a little expensive thou but its worth it the first time i went the ref was knowlegable and helped out alot the second was really stupid and like had his mask off half the time but they are really good you should check them out.
Good layout. Most of the fields are wooded hillside. Good cover, great terrain. The man-made stuff was cheap and cheesy though. It was pouring rain the last time we played but with all the grass and bush we got wet, but not too muddy. The equipment was fine, prices ok. Field staff was a bust. Our last ref was some brain dead 15 year old who might as well not have been there. Things were getting out of hand with a couple of psycho kids and the ref was useless.
