Somebody told me that the Impulse was a gas hog. Is this true? How many shots can I get off a 20oz. CO2 tank?

bo imps are prewtty effecient even more with an LPR
The Impulse is very "tuneable". There are a lot of fokes that try to run the Impulse at very low pressures. It is possible to get the gun to fuction down to about 100 psi BUT you have to use so much dwell, your shot count goes to hell. After a bit of breakin, an impulse on CO2 will normaly get between 1200 and 1500 shots from a 20 oz anti syphon tank. That is very acceptable to me and about 3 times what you would get with some guns I know of
Your best bet is to get your Impulse from a PRO shop so it will be set up for you. If you don't, a very little reading and some time at the chrno will get you in the over 1200 range.
Of course you could buy a package with a LPR on it, and you would have a VERY efficent gun
I use an Iso-Mod on my Rat Impulse and I get over a thousand shots from my 45/4500 tank. Eventually I'll get of my wallet and pay for an LPR and should get a few more shots per tank.
If I can get a thousand plus out of a 45 ci tank than you ought to be able to easily get more than a case of paint out of a 90 ci tank. If that's not enough paint for you.... consider using a remote setup with a scuba tank or using a 40 oz CO2 tank (yes they exist, I have seen one with my eyes).
I know this isn't the best place to ask this, but...
Sometimes I play woodsball, and the only thing that they fill there is CO2. So I would need at least 1500-1 case of shots out of a HPA tank. I plan to get the second year college pack from e-paintballoutlet which has a LPR. What size would give me these results? Also would it be ok to change from HPA to CO2 in the same day?
Thanks a lot for answering myimp newb questions.

no dont use nitro and co2 the same day its like cold liqiud and warm gas, isnt good for seals
Awhystle has a point, but let's look at it a little closer....
If you were to use CO2, the gas going into your gun would be relatively cold, during rapid fire. But during breaks the temperature would raise back up to normal. So, the temp in your Imp is changing all the time anyway.
As long as it is during a break that you switch from one gas to another, you should be able to avoid any problems, if there are any to worry about.

if you are like me and my group, when you play woods, you take about a 20min break in between each game to refill paint and tell stories of the last game!...I would think that would be enough time for changing gasses! Just wait 15min and you will be fine...I think!
Well we generaly recomend you wait 2.375 minnits for every degree below 100 your abient temp is...
(It was a joke guys!)
Don't worry about it-- it will be fine as long as you are using different tanks

FOM can't be perfect!! :-P
ambient... umm, ambient light is light that really has no noticable source, like it's not directional and not a spot light. it's just there... like the sun. so ambient tempeture is probably tempeture that really has source... the entire marker would be over 100, or the general tempeture...
